Remember when Skyward Sword was first revealed? And everyone bashed it just for the graphics? Now look: the game's critically acclaimed and is probably the most anticipated game of the year. That just goes to show how graphics don't make a game, and how awesome gameplay, music, characters, and features do. Graphics also help with it, but they're not the only things that matter.
Great characters? What, Link? He's the same old, same old.
The Graphics are terrible, the music sounds like it's made on a synth, AGAIN. The ganeplay looks more or less the same as it always has, if you look at smaller reviewers (who aren't paid by Nintendo) on metacritic you see them give good, but not great scores.
And most anticipated game of the year? Yeah right. Skyrim and Assasin's creed are just two examples of games more anticipated that this kiddie piece of shit.

@AshXXMayftw. I disagree. The graphics in TP is the most beautiful graphics I have seen in a zelda game. but, dont get me wrong, I love skyward sword graphics too.
in 20 years time when graphics have advanced more than we can imagine, and you look back this game will still look gorgeous, yet something like battlefield 3 that by today's standards looks amazing will probably look dated. just look at max payne next to wind waker. maybe im looking too much into that though....

Rated 10/10 by Edge, which rarely happens (only 14 games were 10/10 by them). Not to mention that the last Zelda title rated 10/10 by those guys was... OoT! So this has to be extremely good in order to be equal to OoT or even surpass it.

The sword looks like it did when its power was sealed in wind waker. So, I guess thats like an unrefined master sword? I bet the transformation will be alot cooler when it fully changes.

In TP the plant monsters teeth and leaves were all 2D images, in this game they upped the poly count and now they are 3D images instead of 2D, the textures of then in TP were just flat while the textures of them in SS actually have then sink into the head instead of being a flat image.

The graphics may have been improved but it's the style of graphics that bugs me. I loved TP, running around as a wolf, the beautiful realistic scenery. It was lovely. I would consider that game very successful, so why did Nintendo go back to the cartoon style.

To me it sounds like all you care about is the art style. These visuals and ten times more appealing than the grey and brown TP. This looks more like the fantasy Zelda game than the grey, boring TP.

@pokemonmaster4ever63 They didn't cut down on production time in fact they had to delay this game 3-4 times before getting the release date we have now. A lot of effort went into this game and reviewers, including Edge known for their very strict reviewers gave this game a 10/10, if that isn't saying something I don't know what will.
@AshXXMayftw They cut down the production time to refine it but they would of had to spend even longer if they had the style of graphics twilight princess's did is all im saying. I also have no doubt it will be a good game, but that is not the point I am trying to make. I'm saying that Nintendo needs to step up. They did not even include voice acting yet. That was acceptable maybe 2-4 years ago, but now they need to make there games more modern, and not in following the retro RPG formula.

@AvatardMH I would recommend Skyward Sword. Uncharted games lack the substance and fun of Zelda. Nintendo games have a secret magical ingredient in them which cannot be replicated. This could very well be the greatest thing to grace the Wii!

1. what do Okami's graphic style have to do with SS graphics ?? Nintendo was always trying different styles and art (WindWaker,Wave Racer,Paper Mario etc...)
2. SS graphics are not cartoony , they are artistic and look like a paint
3. they did not use this style to get an E rating , they used it because Miyamoto liked it (inspired by an artist) and because it has an effect on the gameplay as well

Rated 10/10 by Edge, which rarely happens (only 14 games were 10/10 by them). Not to mention that the last Zelda title rated 10/10 by those guys was... OoT! So this has to be extremely good in order to be equal to OoT or even surpass it.

The sword looks like it did when its power was sealed in wind waker. So, I guess thats like an unrefined master sword? I bet the transformation will be alot cooler when it fully changes.

I still can't get over the fact that they downgraded the graphics from twilight princess... Nintendo is just in it for the money now a days, not to make great games... I will not be getting this game.

@pokemonmaster4ever63 *facepalms* Ok first off your an idiot if your not going to buy this game just because of the visuals. Second yes the graphics are improved, here is an example. In TP the plant monsters teeth and leaves were all 2D images, in this game they upped the poly count and now they are 3D images instead of 2D, the textures of then in TP were just flat while the textures of them in SS actually have then sink into the head instead of being a flat image.

@AshXXMayftw Firstly, I am not an idiot, and secondly, you miss understood me, The visuals are not the only reason I am not buying this game, there are just more enjoyable games coming out this season than I can afford. The graphics may have been improved but it's the style of graphics that bugs me. I loved TP, running around as a wolf, the beautiful realistic scenery. It was lovely. I would consider that game very successful, so why did Nintendo go back to the cartoon style.

@pokemonmaster4ever63 They did it because the creator is a big fan of impressionistic paintings and so he decided to make the art style in the form of a impressionistic painting and because the art style fits the gameplay and story. To me it sounds like all you care about is the art style. These visuals and ten times more appealing than the grey and brown TP. This looks more like the fantasy Zelda game than the grey, boring TP.

@AshXXMayftw Games need to evolve with the audience and the age. I am not a graphics whore, I just think that a big company like Nintendo should of stuck with the TP style of graphics. This to me looks like a step back, the only reason they would do this is to cut down production time. Ocarina of time was one of the greatest games of all time, but this is now the modern age and Nintendo shouldn't try and copy that style of graphics any more. That is what I meant by ''downgraded''. @pokemonmaster4ever63 They didn't cut down on production time in fact they had to delay this game 3-4 times before getting the release date we have now. A lot of effort went into this game and reviewers, including Edge known for their very strict reviewers gave this game a 10/10, if that isn't saying something I don't know what will.

@AshXXMayftw They cut down the production time to refine it but they would of had to spend even longer if they had the style of graphics twilight princess's did is all im saying. I also have no doubt it will be a good game, but that is not the point I am trying to make. I'm saying that Nintendo needs to step up. They did not even include voice acting yet. That was acceptable maybe 2-4 years ago, but now they need to make there games more modern, and not in following the retro RPG formula.

@AvatardMH I would recommend Skyward Sword. Uncharted games lack the substance and fun of Zelda. Nintendo games have a secret magical ingredient in them which cannot be replicated. This could very well be the greatest thing to grace the Wii!

Also Skyward Sword is said to be between 50-100 hours long, just a small tip when picking.

1. what do Okami's graphic style have to do with SS graphics ?? Nintendo was always trying different styles and art (WindWaker,Wave Racer,Paper Mario etc...)
2. SS graphics are not cartoony , they are artistic and look like a paint
3. they did not use this style to get an E rating , they used it because Miyamoto liked it (inspired by an artist) and because it has an effect on the gameplay as well
