@BaronVonKenny YES! That's exactly what this channel is dedicated to. "PBS Style Music". lol
That's the never ending quest, to find as much hardcore synth from the 60-80s as I can for you guys. Wish I could score more of the films that did feature this kind of music. As good as these albums are, many still are no where near as funky and synthy as the soundtracks to those educational films. Problem is 70's and 80's stuff is still copyrighted, can't get at it easy like 50's stuff
@synthastia Hahaha, awesome! There's a certain novelty to those, it saddens me that synthesizers and ham acting are no longer used as educational tools.
Thank you for posting this. This is a beautiful album. When I was in college, my roommate and I would listen to Plantasia and...uh...yeah. Anyways, he got it for 50 cents at a garage sale...money well spent! I've had a hard time finding this online.
During the 70s schools across the UK watched educational TV shows made by the BBC. Before the start, a clock counted down and amazing music was played which was made by the BBC radiophonic workshop. Whole classes were listening to Moog! It sounded very similar to this. When I listened, I could see the clock!
OMG!!! PLANTASIA-- I have this record! I know people ask me what an eighteen-year-old in this day and age is doing with records and record players................. In so many words-- some things just don't come like they used to. I own my own record player, and so I like to listen to my parent's records. They don't sell records anymore, apparently. But my parents have over a hundred that I love to play.
I remember this era, when homes were full of houseplants and hanging baskets. The women in our suburban neighborhood used to have "plant parties" in the mid-70s, when they would bring their favorite houseplants to someone's home and talk about them. And talk to them, too. I remember people saying that playing certain kinds of music to plants was good for them.
Thank you so much for posting this. I remember buying this album as a teenager; it was 10 cents at the Pic-N-Save (defunct bargain/outlet store). Loved it and used this very song for my haunted house on Halloween. Great memories. Thank you synthastia!
always loved moog synths. synths in general really. thanks for the post.

this sounds like background music for those 80s science videos. I can hear some asshat talking about atomic energy and why it's cool to this..
