  • @PanPancerny12 Irek Chełmowski raczej

  • at 956 it wasnt a pressout but oscillation that may have earned the red lights

  • haha, he did deadlift for last attempt

  • I was a really technical lifter(back in the days). There was no chance of me ever pressing anything out, It was either locked or missed. I think, keep the pressout rule pure in the snatch, but on jerks, if you are strong enough to press out and hold these kind of weights, they should give it to you. Then, technicians and beasts can both do their thing. I love great technique, but I have also seen some superhuman feats of pure beastlyness on lifts that were turned down. Both things have a place.

  • Nice deadlift at 14:10!

  • Cheers Frank, enjoyed that as missed it at the time.

  • Who are the commentators?

  • I think that what's most frustrating about the press-out rule is that it's unevenly enforced. It looked to me like Dolega pressed out 227 (see 11:24) as bad or worse than Smorchkov did 225. Seems like the judges are more lenient when the press out occurs after the initial catch than during it. Also probably doesn't hurt to be the defending champion. I wonder if the commentators said anything about it.

  • I'd like to cast my vote for the press-out rule. A properly locked-out snatch or jerk is a beautiful thing to behold. It requires enormous strength, lightning speed, and perfect timing. It feels amazing to accomplish and it's satisfying to be rewarded for one with three white lights. A pressed-out lift, on the other hand, feels like garbage and hurts to look at. This isn't powerlifting; "close enough" shouldn't count. If I wanted to watch a press-out contest, I'd google Andy Bolton.

  • @csaweightlifting powerlifting has a similar rule, if I recall correctly...

  • The press out rule is a tremendous fail. The judges robbed Smorchkov.

  • Judges must hate smorchkov, geez

  • smortskov got robbed.

  • ENJOY

  • I really can't get what was so difficult tightening those locks. One Iranian in the lower category checked those personally, one B group super heavy lifter dropped the discs down and this thing with Klokov. Good publicity for Werk San.

  • Yep, the press-out rule is getting a little ridiculous.

  • seems like Klokov complained about the discs on the left hand side of the bar were not tightened up (for his 227kg jerk) and I agree with him as the replay video showed some separation between the discs -could this contribute to the missed jerk?

  • @mimicat11 Apparently Klokov thought it did make a difference. I honestly couldn't say, I have no idea what it's like to attempt to stabilize 227 kilos over my head.

  • Pressout is a terrible rule!!!!!!!

  • the jerk of the smorchkov is good ..but the jerk of dolega with 227 kg is faill¡¡¡ no lift .

  • Was very much looking forward to this. Thanks! ... Also, impressed with Bonks performance. I know he trains a lot with Marcin and it appears to be paying off.

  • great commentating.epic battle

  • this is the second time I've heard the world record c&j is 237 by tsagaev, was aramnau's 236 in beijing only good for a total world record?

  • @kaga13

It was also a junior WR.

I believe that the IWF made a mistake and listed 235 as the WR at Beijing, that's why Aramnau went for 236.

  • Thanks for the video, great stuff
