  • Sounds like a pulsing smoke detector.

  • That is a very crazy alarm

  • these are pretty loud.

  • That sounds very much like the cheap smoke detectors you can buy just about anywhere here in Australia. Do most of these alarms have white strobes? I've seen quite a lot of fire alarm videos on YouTube, and they all seem to have white light strobes, is this because of the video quality?

  • They're all white, though the newer clear strobes appear bluish-white. Some of the older alarms that used regular lightbulbs were red, though.

  • @kenshin891 And sometimes used alarms will have yellow strobes from dirt.

  • itz a 1dr how a teenee alarm can produs lot ov noiz

  • sounds like my system sensor mni-horn

  • It is a System Sensor mini-horn. The strobe is a seperately purchased add-on.

  • What's the model #'s of the mini horn and the strobes?

  • very cool. Makes me want a PA400 even more. I wish the PA400R in my old apartment had that (there were no strobes in the apartments)

  • i have a Pa400W

  • Cool, A P400

  • That sounds like my PS2412575ADA.

  • yes it does. That's because the PA400s, classic Spectras and newer MIZs all use the same piezo. This piezo is also used in First Alert smoke alarms.

  • Yep, it sure is! The blue version of this is also used in U-MHTs, and ESL 400 series sounder smokes.

  • System Sensor and First Alert were, at one time, owned by the Pittway co. You will find that most of their electronics are very similar.

  • Yeah. The Pittway Co. sadly went out of business. The same plant in Illinois made First Alerts, BRKs, System Sensors, you name it. I even have a PA400B that says "BRK Electronics- System Sensor Division" on the box.

  • My uncle actually worked for BRK/First Alert in the Aurora, IL plant in the 1980's.

  • Oh, that's cool!

  • I also preformed a service call at the old BRK plant in Aurora, IL years ago. Their old building fire alarm was sitting on the floor, which they let me have. I still have it. It's an old Firelite Sensiscan 1000.

  • Wow! You and your family have a very interesting history of working with fire alarms. Sadly, mine doesn't, but I guess I can always start something there.
