@DixiesAttic I've heart this version before, but I guess I didn't pay attention to the slight differences in the lyrics until now. For example, the 'streets of Ireland' is now the 'Hills of Gaza'.

I actually wish I could find the video to Anne's original version. It wasn't anything spectacular, I'd just like to have it.

@DixiesAttic It is fitting, most definitely. I posted it in a group I belong to that follows a political blog, and they all loved it, and thanked me for posting it.

The original is on here, I have it saved. But you're right, not the original video. I do vaguely remember the original from when the song first came out, but I haven't seen it in years.

Wow, the level of moronic Merlot soaked posts is just a laugh riot. it's amazing that this song has motivated, among all countrymen, Americans and Canadians to fight in words with each other. Could I Have This Dance was not Anne's last hit in 1980. A Little Good News was a hit in 1982 or so.

What I get a kick out of is the line "Everybody loves everbody on the U.S.A." (or close to it. The U.S. has the highest murder rate in the world: the most people in prison and they have to stick their snout in and, basically, create wars all the time. They have been involved it some kind of conflict since the Vietnam war started in 1965. This song makes me realize how happy I am to be a Canuck.

America has it's flaws but at least it is not a country that thinks it is okay to rape women or drag them down the street tied to cars like rag dolls or use their kids to strap grenades to. WOW.... Diane Sawyer name was heard. I ain't going to say a word.. last comment still pending. A company wanted to get rid of her as a 5 yr old boy said, "Put the world problems all into one song!" This is the video, this is the song. All I asked was a report and I choosed Diane... thanks for the remake too bad there still isnt a dance version

@hellothere3fly this is actually a remake with more updated info Anne Murray sang the original solo. I just chose news pics and put the song to it. Thanks for commenting but I don't really like dance music especially not to sad topics, this song is very old, funny how it seems more fitting now or is just that the world has not really changed as much as we think just gets worse.
