I hate to sound sexist, but in the middle ages and the renaissance, being female was more like a curse than a blessing (not that anyone deserved that), so I don't know why her mom is getting all upset.
@ichigouzumakii In her defence, I can see that being suppressed to act like something that you are not (in Sapphire's case, being a man) it could cause some crazy backlash on ones emotional and mental state. I think that is the Queen's intention (to look out for Sapphire's wellbeing in a mental case) when she wishes for Sapphire to "live the life of a girl".
Again, no intention to sound sexist stating any of this if I offend anyone!

it actually doesn't make sense for her to say that she want her daughter to
"live the life of a girl" when it is obvious that women are being look at unequal to men
in their kingdom , ans she does not notice that. i think the mother is just being pushy.
