  • i tried going to the control panel and turning off link state power management but it still freezes and makes a sortof buzzing noise which was happening before its usually when im on youtube watching a video. while im on youtube i usually have facebook on another tab as well i dont play games or anything on my laptop. can anyone give me any advice?

  • @ryangil23 Right click on the video on utube options> uncheck hardware acceleration

  • @abkoo i trried that it still freezes and makes buzzing noises. i put it on high performance and tried updating the display driver but it says its up to date.

  • @club4ghz my bad dude. I should have read names first. Now I look like the dumbass right? lol

  • @club4ghz Turning off Link State Power Manager isn't turning off your gpu dumbass.

  • i think it worked

    thanx

  • @SHMILYAADI15

    no it didint

  • Mine crashes during minecraft, every thing is on max performance/power, i did the PCI thing etc.....fuuaaarrkkk

  • Seems to have done the trick. Cheers.

  • If this doesn't work, just turn off GPU.

  • @StojaMadarFakar if you turn of your gpu you gonna get black screen good idea smartass

  • Listen everyone - if nothing fixes it, your GPU is f*d up. If you got warranty, just go the store and ask a new one!

  • Other options: Build a more solid rig, install a more solid OS, and if you're a driver programmer for Nvidia or Ati, write less ass and more code plz. kthx.

  • it*

  • fucking hell my nvidia display driver thing wont even let me watch youtube i gives me a green screen and green dots everywhere

  • update the driver. that's your solution? wow

  • I tried everything and nothing worked...so I then noticed when I reinstalled windows this time I did not over clock my Nvidia GTX 460 AND I did not Install CCleaner like I had always did...

I think CCleaner might be the culprit, I also know an unstable OverClock will do it too. BUT my machine has been going 1 month with out this display issue. I use to always delete all CCleaner had found Now I don't use any registry cleaner. If this works for you let me know please.

  • Driver update did not work for me. I did update it two times before even reading this post. I just installed new power supply Corsair 600W and new graphic card NVIDIA 520. When I come back in a morning computer often displays message: "Display Driver nvlddmkm Stopped Responding and Has Successfully Recovered." Also it could happen on the middle of my work, which is sucks :-( !!! NEED HELP!!!

  • @09280215 What kind of system are you running? 600W might not be enough. You might try @yellowblood's solution listed in the Top Comments.

  • adjust image settings with preview (NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL) -> Let the 3d application decide. Problem solved!

  • @assfau1t can you please tell me how to do that exactly?

  • thanks to you and yellowblood, it helped

  • I've been encountering the issue regularly on a GTX560ti, mostly while online with firefox. Haven't enountered it again since updating to the latest *beta* driver a couple of days ago, available on nvidia's website.

  • mine says system32 where do i go from there?

  • Mine Says "error in NVCPL.DLL

    Missing entry:NvCplRestorePersistence"

but the computer says the driver has been updated successfully what do i do?

  • Oddly enough this has just started happening and it happens when I'm not even gaming or anything. I could just be sitting on the computer on MSN and itll freak out and restart because the display driver failed. I do play amnesia sometimes but not all that often. . .

  • didn't helped

  • Amazing how many forum threads about this issue I have come across and many started in 2009, MS dont gives a Sh** obviusly, I have this with windows 7 64b and worse for me is while browsing with Firefox.

Trying out the power management option I came across in a MS forum and mentioned by "yellowblood" (fingers crossed) I want to get back to Skyrim, gpu - OS worked great in XP 32b

  • is this not just changing the driver?

Because that is a little obvious and doesn't work for me. then again neither did a clean re install and a repair under warranty

  • it didnt work for me

  • Not trying to start a convo about games but its only on Minecraft (With JAVA) i have the problem, im told on the Microsoft support page that it maybe be dusty/overheating i have a 'NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460 but also am told to unistall the driver first but your just saying update, so im not quite sure : /

  • I get a black screen during a game. The game will run for about a minute (some times 20, but only rarely) and then the display will turn black instantly and the sound skips. It's really annoying because i didn't have this problem originally and I just got skyrim! I need to take some arrows to my knees! Any assistance would be helpful! Running vista 32 bit with an nVIDIA 9800 graphics card on a laptop

  • @senorcardgage00 Dude some here.. First I fix some sound glitches which took forever to figure out.. now this!??!! fuckle buckles!

  • Even now with the 290.53 beta drivers this fix still works. Seriously nvidia get ur TDR fixed.

  • wont install properly

  • They gave me a fucked up windows reinstallation CD

  • Display Driver Intel Graphics Accelerator Vista Stopped Working But Has Recovered

  • this is probably not the case ..the driver itself might not be the problem ..mine was with the graphics card .I accidently loosened the display out on the back of the chassis ..I shook it a bit and voila got it up and ready

  • Does this work with intel? I have an i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 8GB of RAM. The driver should be that latest at 8.15.10.2559. I keep on having this popup whenever I play TF2. Someone help me, cuz I seen other similar systems play that game very well D:

  • i was gonna do this but then i took an arrow on my knee :)

  • I found a better possible solution. Please thumb-up if it worked for you.

In the control panel, go to "Power Options", "Change plan settings", "Change advanced...", and look for "PCI Express" - "Link State Power Management".

Make sure that it's set to "Off". This will cause Windows 7 to avoid trying to save power by providing less voltage to the GPU, which may be the reason for the crash.

  • @yellowblood You did it. Your fix helped my Nvidia issue. Geek squad knows jack.

  • @yellowblood thanks a lot mate im trying it now hope it works!

  • @yellowblood I'm gonna try this and post back, I think it might work, fingers crossed.

  • @yellowblood i have previously found this solution on forums and have set it on OFF for a month now, and today it just happened again.

This solution is somewhat viable as it does decrease the frequency of the error though.

  • @yellowblood this helped me greatly, but now the computer crashes every 45 or so minutes while playing. I think it could be an over heating issue... ?

  • @yellowblood I've done what you said, hopefully this makes it stop! Before it was doing it like once every few weeks but now it's getting more frequent. My Link State Power Management was set on 'Moderate' so I turned it off, hopefully it should stop happening now.

    Thanks for the help mate!

  • @yellowblood he y, I tired what you said. The problem still ocucures but it lasted longer this time. any otehr ideas???

  • @yellowblood No , it did not work.

  • @yellowblood Didn't work. :/

If you have any other suggestions, PLEASE PM me.

  • @yellowblood I was skeptical, but this seems to have worked for my issue. Thank you!

  • @yellowblood JESUS CHRIST I WAS ABOUT TO CUT MY DICK OFF

  • @yellowblood Dude somebody needs to give you a medal. You have have no idea how long I've looked for a solution. THANK YOU!!!

  • @yellowblood THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • @yellowblood

Tried this but its still happening. :/

And yes all my drives are updated, even DL'd the latest beta driver.

  • @yellowblood I've been having this problem myself, will try your solution and see if it works.

  • @yellowblood Power Options?

  • @yellowblood Dude that fucking worked!

  • @yellowblood thank you very much, i just did this and ill find out later if it worked, mine was only doing this when i would watch a movie online pause it then start watching a different video.

  • @yellowblood Listen to yellowblood. I had that problem and my games were crashing often, now they don't. Thanks allot man. Make a short tutorial about it. :)

  • @yellowblood this worked, thank you.

  • this did not fix it and i dont like you and i dont like your video

  • hey. are you sure it can help? and also not gonna happen again that fcking problem? :D

  • tnx you wery mutch it helped for me

  • Man i cant find the WinVista or the setups in NVIDia .. because i have only NVIDIA CORPORATION .. how can i do this whit out this

    :(((

  • Thanx man you helped me a lot :) I downloaded new drivers on (working too on my) ATI HD 5450 and going:

Browse my computer for drive software

Let me pick from a list...

And I founded my new downloaded drivers in this list and installed it into my windows... thanx man you are awesome! Crashing system and blue screen are dead! :)

  • @GarryRoachSanderson edit1 it was working only 2 days man... after 2 days it started crashing and blue screen again... but I solved it!Download software "MSI Afterburner" and underclock graphics 7% down and windows will working without problems!

@abkoo you can make about my solved video... it is very easy it takes only 5 minutes! I want to help people, like you helped me :)

  • @GarryRoachSanderson edit 2 it worked only 1day... now crashes and blue screen every day

  • THANKS BUDDY GREAT WORK :P

  • This would help if I could maybe see the video lmao. It's just showing as a green screen still, usually I just have to log off and log on to fix it but it's not working this time.

  • For me don't work :S

  • thanks very much

  • I got a full on Blue Screen while watching this video. Holy crap

  • hmmmm.... i can't do this because when I open my laptop.... it just goes black.... T-T

  • What about for AMD?

  • thanks very much

  • 1. Open your Nvidia control panel.

    2. Look under "3d settings area" on the left side. Click on Manage 3d Settings.

    3. Under the Global settings tab look at the Power management mode feature. Its in the middle above sli rendering. Set it to Prefer maximum performance.

    4. Now under the Program settings tab. Make sure "Show only programs on this computer" is checked.

    5. For every program that has its own file and that has crashed change the Power management mode to Prefer maximum performance.

  • @MageryGuy did that, still happens, but seems less frequent.

  • @MageryGuy yes tnx for that tried it about 30 mins ago and so far so good

  • @MageryGuy *FIx'd Thx. :)

  • hey abkoo when i click on the nvidia thing and they say installing this device is not recommended because windows cannot verify that it is compatible with ur hardware. If the driver is not compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your computer might become unstable or stop working completely.Do you want to continue installing this driver.

please replys fast as i really wanna play the games i wanna play

  • @wadde70 Hmm yes you can try it =)

  • check my vids . i got a solution for this

  • dosent work

  • do u know where i can find the right directory with an ati radeon?

  • @grosse616 No sorry =/

  • @grosse616 Sorry if its late but mine are stored in C:\ATI\Support just choose the latest one if you have multiple ones

  • @grosse616 do the same thing but go to C:\ATI\Support\ , click your os , click let me choose the driver than try the latest one.. i think windows leaves it at the original which is causing the proble. I just did it so no clue if it worked yet but it def wasn't on the right one.

  • @grosse616 Hey Ive a radeon too find mine I went Computer - C drive - folder named DRV inside that folder i choose Folder ATI - Packages folder - then drivers folder - display so

Computer-C drive - DRV - ATI _ PAckages - DRivers - Display then there is too folders in dispaly with a list of .inf files it should be one of those. It worked for me thumbs up so others can see :)

  • My is mobile intel 945 Gm express chipest family, how i going to fix this?

  • What if its already fully updated?

  • @CeePeeV1et doesent matter

  • the reason for this crash is because Nvidia has been writing very bad drivers for direct X 10 and 11. and game developers are writing bad games. and Microsoft keeps changing direct X. and no body is correctly make'n patches or no cd cracks so everything is not correctly functioning. fear keeps messing up running on Dx 11 but seems to work just fine on 10. so its nobody's settings or there pc....its the manufactures BULL SHIT!

  • this only happenes rarely, I dont care about it lol

  • This didn't work :( I am dissapoint

  • thanks dude i owe u!!!

  • in ::C there is no Nvidia folder...? idk where to find the file

  • @BalzofDrag You have to download the newest driver from nvidia.com, save it in C: and now its there.

  • doing it now hopefully it works :D

  • @RileyKiLLaH :)

  • I found that file in system32 if you cant find it, I just did a search on my computer

  • C:\NVIDIA\DisplayDriver\"newest driver"\Vista 64-bit\English\Display.Driver

    hope that helps.

  • Well the folder Im looking for is not their. Help?

  • I have a Dell XPS M1730 OS Win 7, I don't see the above mentioned either. Any other tips?

  • I was looking for a fix for this and I remembered that the first time it happened my YouTube broke. All I see is a green screen with annotations =/

  • It keeps saying the best driver is already installed. BTW the best thing I could do, since I couldn't find the inf file you spoke of, or anything close to it (with an underscore), is point to c:\NVIDIA and let it choose.

  • What's the name of the song And it worked thanks

  • @MrFloodin No just go to nvidia.com and download your driver.

  • I definitely did something, but it did fix anything when playing games it still stuffed up

  • Tried this and my card was not available in the list. I have the Nvidia Geforce 8500 GT. It only had the 8800 on the list. I have never had a problem with this computer up until I started playing Lord Of The Rings Online. Now this nvlddmkm error is driving me crazy!!!!

  • @ChrisKennedy5459 Yes the Videocard is resetting to the "new" driver.

  • @abkoo fsafasf

  • @ChrisKennedy5459 my screen does that when i watch any video or run cinema 4d

  • go to start/regedit/HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{19317A2F-F50A-46B0-A6BO-A68A-F9BE0880DBOC}/0000 you need folder 0000 ..! in that folder you must create 4 REG_DWORD files...

(if you have 32 bit windows create 32 bit REG_DWORD, If you have 64 bit than Create 64 bit REG_Dword...

    so lets create....

    1---- PerfLevelSrc With value 3322

    2---- PowerMizerEnable With value 0

    3----- PowermizerLevel With Value 1

    4------ PowermizerLevelAC With Value 1
