Nice work! I have an M1938 Mosin Nagant that I am trying to restore and am using your video as a guide for removing rust and rebluing. Just a couple questions; After you reblued it; why did you have to rinse it with hot water? Also, how would you recommend removing rust from the inside of the barrel?
LOL, the cold blue in a can probably gave that rifle a better finish than it came from the factory with. Seriously, it's just a Savage....if it gets rusty, just throw that piece of shit in the trash. You can buy a brand new one for a few hundred bucks....Savage only made one rifle that was worth talking about and this piece of shit aint it.
@thevansmack NEXT TIME YOU GET A PAY CHECK OR A COUPLE HUNDRED OF BUCKS THROW IT IN THE TRASH....DONT MATTER IF ITS A PIECE OF SHIT...MONEY IS MONEY....
Outstanding!!! I have a Savage 22 LR Rifle, It was my first rifle my father bought to me. It looks like yours before the threatment! I have a Question for you, I've been removing the rust with WD40 and a Iron Wool, and in some parts the inscriptions got worn-out. How may I restore it? Thank you very much for your time. Sorry for my poor english writting. Saludos desde Argentina (South America)!!!!
Great Vid, Cute kid, nice touch. I have the exact same rifle, no rust, but still good to know just in case. Like how you time lapsed it, made for informative yet short vid. good job.
I've done this with very good results. In between the blue-removal and the blueing I did an extra step. I sanded with very fine sandpaper I believe 600 or 800 grit (wet or dry paper) and I did it the opposite of 'lengthwise' I'm not sure what that's called. I rotated the barrel in my hand with the paper in my hand. Came out fantastic !
When ever I find rust on a rifle or bayonet of mine, and when its not really bad rust I use standard gun oil and copper wire brush and just go back and fourth til it its gone. It doesn't damage the blueing or metal at all
I subbed you, Do the same if you like. Great video's.. I have been following chris for a few years now so that's how I found your channel. Take care..
haha u sound like ur all jacked up on mountain dew er coffee from speeding it up but yeah dude that turned out pretty sick it looks pretty easy to do so if i gotta do er sometime ill come back to watch whats an antler of the blueing cost
