IMHO. this is actually really bad. i expected more. all he can do is shred. and that actually sucks to listen to. it's just for immature music listeners. nobody in their right mind would put MAB in the top 10 guitarists of all time list.. they would get laughed out of the room.
@cschuck320 I agree - he just can't write a decent solo - should take lessons from someone like the great alex skolnick :) but the version of this song on his latest album is really good (joe babiak on drums and vocals by the awesome warren dunlevy); EVH is good, too, and I really dig his version of megadeth's symphony of destruction.
@rockapartie cant write a decent solo? why are you even watching this video.? you obviously have never watched any other clips, or seen how well mab knows music theory. its a little naive of you to say that, considering you think "alex skolnick" is a top 10 guitarist, ..*whoever that is.
@JoelRorsethOfficial hey, my comment wasn't supposed to make the impression that i don't like batio's stuff. i REALLY like his latest record - metallica rules, evh and symphony of destruction are AMAZING!
@JoelRorsethOfficial alex skolnick is a well renowned jazz/rock/metal guitarist - did some great work with trans-siberian orchestra and testament. check out the solos @ testament's "electric crown", "practice what you preach" and especially "over the wall" (2001), that's what i mean by a well composed solo :)
@JoelRorsethOfficial to be fair i would agree with rockapartie because alex skolnick is renowned for his technical ability on guitar and his compositions in his solos are amazing....I'm afraid at the end of the day its a matter of taste who you think is amazing and I also do think MAB is an amazing guitarist! But my personal preference would be alex skolnick any day.
@cschuck320 First, if you don't like it then don't listen to it let alone leaving a comment about how bad you think it is. Second, you must not have heard any of his jazz or acoustic stuff if you think all he can do is shred. Third, there is nothing immature about his playing style, it's just a different genre than what you seem to like.
@Marshallstack3203 1. I thought it'd be good because he'd be doing something other than his famous shredding. 2. I listened to the jazz stuff but it wasn't very good either. It was actually pretty soft and crappy. 3. Listen to Shawn Lane if you want to hear real shredding. I like metal but I liked MAB when I was 10. I thought he was awesome.. but now that I'm older, it's just irritating shredding compared to other shredding.
@cschuck320 I'm not trying to be disrespectful or anything, I'm just saying that if you don't like something, then just don't listen to it. Personally, I listen and play (I'm a guitarist) everything from country to metal. MAB isn't the only shredder I listen to either. In fact, I love listening to him, Vinnie Moore, Shawn Lane, Dimebag Darrell, George Lynch, EVH, etc. I'm just saying that music is a matter of opinion, but don't bash music you don't like, just don't listen to it.
@tyronegodfreyraman check out the version on his latest record (hands without shadows 2) which - finally! after all those years - is quite a good album. tribute to dimebag, metallica rules, EVH and symphony of destruction are really good, especially since warren dunlevy is an awesome and unbelievably versatile vocalist! and he got rid of his terrible drum computer; which can sound good, see devin townsend's ziltoid (feat. tomas haake's drumkit from hell), but michael's didn't
Thumb up if you got here by the thumbnail showing Michael with big wings lol
