Just seeing this clip for first time. Congrats on the skills and that dialed-in Open gun. Congrats also to Mr. Nolan (who designed and sold the HoserCam for a while) as the vid.'s Q is great as well.
It's a slide racker. It enables the shooter to rack the slide. The red dot sight makes it difficult to grasp the slide in the normal manner as on a 1911/2011 with iron sights.
Guess not a C-more upon second look. Maybe a challenge...What optic is he using on that ported .38 super? Leupold? A bit of trivia..why not. Post the answer.
Judging from the voice at the beginning of the video, the Shooter i Saul Kirsch. According to his website, he shoots with an STI Grand master with an Aimpoint Comp C mounted in a Rescomp STI/AIMPOINT scope mount.
Excellent video and Todd has amazing skill. He acquires is sight picture sooooo freakin' fast! Even in open division with the C-more. He is an amazing shooter and rivals his open scores with production guns. Long live the sport of shooting. Never let your government take that away. I will keep practicing. :o))
This is Saul Kirsh shooting - one of the top shooters in the world today. He is shooting an STI Grand Master modified open class gun. 38 Super - Compensated with a few hybrid holes. These are custom made guns and cost normally 3-5k USD.
It's an Open race gun... So you're right it's most likely a .38 Super with an Aimpoint scope. I wouldn't know what exactly are the other components buy it definitely would be top shelf i.e. STI/Para-Ord frame, custom barrel with compensator probably hybrid.
This person is shooting a full on "race" gun. It is most likely a 38-Super STI (2011) model. These guns are built for pure speed. Compensated, ported barrels, 2lb triggers, lighten slides. Sweet guns.
-And it seems to be compensated, due to the gas venting straight up. The shooter also have acharging handle attached, so it is easier/possible to rack the slide without any problem.
I can't tell what gun is used, but it has got an aimpoint red-dot. -Not that that really matters. When You can shoot that fast, AND hit, You will hit with optics or not. :D
Wow...makes me feel so slow at IDPA.

Defınıtely a chargıng handleç
KillFrenzie 2 years ago
it just makes it quicker to reload cause when your hauling ass and your hands are sweaty racking the slide takes longer compared to the handle

I'd like to see somebody do that with a real gun, you know one's that kick and without all that fancy shmancy gadgetry.

I thought it was an UltraDot at first, but that rheostat on the right side has me guessing.

Ant THAT even if you consider you're not feeling the adrenaline or expectation from the competition. It turns the arms of some into jelly.

a racegun with all the goodies will cost at least $3000 US, as much as $5000 US, and if you cant shoot, you still cant shoot with a racegun!

I would guess USD 1,200 - 2,000.

that's what an open gun can do hehe, but of course 70% is given credit to the shooter. very nice run, fun to watch. hope to shoot that fast soon ;-)

he is useing a bull (1911) pistol with an aimpoint. he has a compensator, and i think he have a hybrid barrel, or atleast drilled a few holes in it.
