  • Thomas Baker a Missionary to Fiji 1867 was ambushed, killed and cooked and eaten by chiefs.

  • I'd like to add Jim and Betty Stam who died at the hand s of Chinese Communists in the 30's to this list.

  • I do not wish to be a martyr, but if the Lord consider me worthy, help me God. We are pretty attached to our children and families. It's not easy.

We need to pray for the persecuted church in China and India and all other places where there is persecution to Christians to the point of death and see how can we help.

  • WHAT ? GLADIATOR? NOTHING TO DO WITH MARTYRS!

  • Why was the world not worthy of these people? Sounds like hubris if you ask me.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrBluediamond1 these men died for what they believed was truly right, where their hubris when they were streipped down, beaten, thrown to the swords, crosses and dogs of men who wanted them dead?

  • The real reason why these men met with their respective fates was because they were not open towards reasonable dialogue and only sought to convert others by belittling their faiths and by thrusting their own as the ultimate truth. These missionaries are spiritually bankrupt and are only interested in generating numbers for their church back home, somewhat like a sales team. They even resort to murderous domination when their numbers dwindle. Please do not fuel your zeal in such negative ways.

  • @9shailendra6 - You not of what you speak and therefore should speak not in this matter.

  • @dyounggfnd Oh yes, I absolutely know what I am talking about. Thomas, one of Jesus' 12 disciples had come to India. This arrogant man would speak of the people of the land as though they were ignorant, sinful people destined for hell. This is not befitting of a man of god, and his persistent provocation led to his execution.

Even today, your missionaries do the same. Legislation protects them, else they too would meet their martyrs in your Hell.

  • @9shailendra6 still you do not know what you're talking about, the Indians didn't believe in Hell only in that the next life they would just get thrown into the lower class of society, and Thomas spoke the truth right out from Christ told them they were destined for because of their sin

  • @ARKSOLDIER7: Just for your information, Indians (or Hindus) do not adhere to a single philosophy. Leave aside your blinkers, my friend, and see the world. Read up about the ways of others from authentic sources, not from the literature of your clergymen wanting to mock our faith. Shed ignorance with greater knowledge, not with blind belief. Also, I don't understand how an entire people can be condemned as sinners only because Christ apparently said so.

  • @9shailendra6 Christ point out a certain people as sinners, he points out EVERYONE as sinners

  • @ARKSOLDIER7: Of course, you are free to believe that. It is just that I believe martyrdom must come from defending your own beliefs under the pain of death, rather than by forcing your beliefs on others. Peace.

  • @9shailendra6 Thomas didn't force anyone in fact in those days you simply walked out on the street and preached, so he didn't force anyone, they only got rid of him because they didn't like him, simply because they didn't like his faith, his religion, or his God

  • Martin Luther King was not killed for his faith in Jesus Christ

  • “There is no greater drama in human record than the sight of a few Christians, scorned or oppressed by…emperors, bearing all trials with a fiery tenacity, multiplying quietly, building order while their enemies generated chaos, fighting the sword with the word, brutality with hope, and at long last defeating the strongest state that history has ever known. Caesar and Christ had met in the arena and Christ had won.” - Will Durant,

  • I think at 3:01 it's supposed to be Ed McCulley, not McNulley.

Great video though! We've been reading through the book "Radical" by David Platt in LifeGroup at the UT Martin BCM. Very convicting. In America, Christians have gone through a phase that missions takes a special calling which could not be more incorrect. We are called to go out and be witnesses from the moment we say "Yes" to trust in Christ.

  • mnSPictures has sent me another message to say that Jews were white. Why don't this freak piss off. Why should race matter. I am in no doubt that they could be both black and white especially since I learn that race is almost irrelevant to our true destiny. Race cannot save you. If I were to accept the truth, it would be that Jews were BLACK. The bible, historical and scientific findings supports this. Nevertheless, I do not think it matters anymore because Jesus came to change that!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Pure blooded jews were white. Frankly, I will not debate this because being a Jew or being white will not save you at the end your days on earth. I would rather see no colour since that is irrelevant. I leave that debate to the simple. distracted lowest common creature who call themselves human. That is the point I was trying to highlight. The fact is I was not living in the biblical times to stamp my authority on facts as to whether they were white or not. Frankly, what matters now is ME.

  • Every person that calls themselves a Christian ought to watch this video! :)

  • I LIKE HOW THE BIBLICAL MARTYRS ARE ALL MADE TO BE WHITE PEOPLE. MAKES ME LAUGH OUT OF TRUE SYMPATHY. I KNOW THE TRUTH, SO I WILL NOT EVEN WASTE MY BREATH IN TEACHING THE DELUDED!

  • @spiritsexist pure blooded jews are white. The ones from the middle east have a decent tan, but just as dark as what i have. Plus, some of the martyrs in biblical times were from europe. Christianity spread throughout the entire roman empire in a matter of years

  • To the true christians who have not taken from man in God's name; thanks be to God for you. To those calling themselves christians, but really workers of satan and are so good at convincing God's people, curses onto you even as you say you were 'martyred' but God will say onto you; GET AWAY FOR I KNOW YOU NOT!!!!!!

  • Thanks for this. For the first time, I was able 2 put a date to the biblical martyrs. On the other hand, where the most recent 'martyrs' are concerned, for all I care, some of them may be of the devil working in Jesus' name. For example, the ones to have gone to Afghanistan etc, how sure can one be that they were working covertly for self interest or the west as Christopher Columbus did. There are too many billy grahams and oral roberts (WOLVES IN SHEEP CLOTHINGS OR THE DEVIL'S SERVANT) around.

  • @spiritsexist Careful not to pass judgement, "For the Lord knows those who are His" You can not say who is and who isn't if you've never known or met them. I can tell from your other postings you are speaking in anger and of malice, why?! Why are you stuck on race, in the Lords eyes we are all seen as His creation. Who cares what race, we are all men and women.

  • MLK died world peace. Not for Christ. Christ didnt come to bring peace on the earth, but a sword..if MLK was here 2day he'd probably b helping the one world religion. MLK was a great man but he died in the name of world peace. Now Matthew and Luke and all who died specifically in name of Jesus..died for the ultimate cause

  • oh by the way you can still be hated and not be a christian.

  • it's good to here christians dying they are scum...PERIOD.

  • "Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, 'For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.' Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us."

    —Romans 8:35-37

  • Great video! But MLK did not die for his testimony for Christ, plus he died here in USA that doesn't count.

  • @cac0017 you don't think the bible preaches against racism and injustice?

  • @sameo89 never said that. I just said that he didn't get killed for his testimony in Christ. It was a predjudice thing.

  • ah, good point. :)

  • I think testimony of christ is more than just telling people about Christ - it is also working and fighting for God's causes, and MLK fought for justice and love.

  • maybe, but he did not DIE for his testimony of Christ. There is a huge difference. People are hated and martryed everyday for just being a Christian. He might have been a christian but he didn't get murdered because of his faith....

  • I don't know, it's hard to tell from the outside: Did MLK do what he did because God told him to, or because he believed it was what God wanted? It's hard to tell without getting inside his head.

  • Ok, there is a difference between being shot and being a Christian and being shot FOR being a Christian. He didn't not die a martyrdom death for Christ.

  • @cac0017 We don't know that he didn't die for his faith. For we only have stories from the liars that killed him. So why would you believe the murderers? Hitler still has you Atheists thinking he was a christian. Why is it that we are always and I mean always called liars. Yet these sheep constantly rely on the words of the most evil people on earth without question.

  • @easymoney4ever Um...I am not an athiest. I am making a point as to someone killing a man because they hate his skin color (which is awful and tragic) and what he stand for and for a man being killed because he is a christian and spreading Christ. Thanks for assuming I am an athiest- anyone (believe or non-believer) knows that hitler is about as much of a christian as obama is..

  • @cac0017 hahaha wouldn't disagree with that, but that doesn't mean he was a true Christian. Dietrich Bonhoeffer, who is pictured in this video, realized Hitler was wicked and openly opposed him and therefore was martyred for his faith

  • I dont understand something...I thought that Pelagius was a heretic ,so who is the Pelagius that appears on the video?

  • So you are waiting for someone else to declare who is/was a heretic. Now that is heresy! You need to discover Jesus for yourself before too late.

  • I am not 100% sure Martin Luther King should be on here, but I totally love this video.

  • Makes me want to be a martyr. That's gotta be the best way to go out.

  • First, you best make sure you have the Holy Ghost! Martydom does not save.

  • I simply ask a question... Pelagius was a heretic that lived between IV and V, and in the video shows another time , i didn't understand that because I asked.

  • Thanks brother, I'm sure I have it though, I can even recall the very moment I was saved. The emotion I felt led me to tears really. It was like a mix of relief and shame at the same time, shame for my sins but relief that Christ died for me. I repented of my sins and confessed Christ's name before others some time after.

  • @GodzillaCO the way things are going in america(behind the scenes) if ur a christian, you will have the chance..

  • @GodzillaCO love it

  • you know the song is actually in Hebrew?

  • love it! i was gonna use that song and footages in my videos

  • May the Lord Jesus Christ give us all His spiritual strength to stand up and declare His wonderful message of Forgiveness and Hope that His Shedding of Blood on the Cross has given us when many around us in these latter day's have no time to hear the Lord's precious name being spoken. Let us continue to look to the Lord through the Holy Scripture and The Holy Spirit. Let us pray for one another in Christ Jesus and also pray that the Lord might be Gracious in opening the eyes of the world. AMEN.

  • Who sung this song?

    what is it called

    please reply! thank you.

  • it's from the soundtrack to gladiator, "now we are free", possibly enya is the singer.

  • Enya, Now We Are Free

  • @chrustpizza it's from the gladiator soundtrack, it's called now we're free, it's composed by Hans Zimmer

  • @chrustpizza Now We Are Free by Lisa Gerrard

  • @chrustpizza

    Its from the Gladiator soundtrack

  • @chrustpizza Lisa Gerrard, song is called Now We Are Free

  • Thank you, Trevor, thank you so, SO much for posting this.

Am a little speechless right now from your video.

(However, will add I read somewhere a long time ago the number of genuinely-practicing Christians killed during the Holocoust was some astounding number...the document had it listed past 20 million for those who protected Jews, worked for the Resistance, etc. I wish to check out the figure on my own, though I can believe it. Truth gets suffocated or under-rated or ...)

  • I thought there were 63 million martyred during the Papal Inquisition from the dark ages to the late 18th century. That makes it much more than the 45 million killed in the 20th century.

  • great vid! Praise Yaweh!!!
