@YamiPoyo Name of the anime is in the title "Seitokai no Ichizon" and there are no dubs. Not sure if there are even fan dubs either. I also perfer watching the original jap version anyways.

@YamiPoyo I grant you that there are some decent subs out there, but very rarely do i find one that is better than the original sub.

the way I see it, just as some words are often distorted and meanings are lost through translation, emotions and the way it is meant to be said is very often distorted through dubbing. A dub is basically an interpretation of the original voice actor's interpretation.

Anyway, most importantly, if you messed with Mafuyu's voice I'd have to cut you.

@deathsevil Voice actors deliberately do not try to copy the voice of the japanese version, and a director drives the show to give off the best emotions it can, Also i submit to you code geass "Britannia" invades japan strips its name and culture and forces its ppl into slave labour, why the hell would britannians speak japanese?

Unless your a dual language japanese born english as a second language you can't tell me one carries over more emotion then another outisde of the skill of the actor.

@YamiPoyo i dont get your point about that code geass thing, what are you trying to say with that? I didnt say a certain language has more emotions than another, I just said that some are distorted through translation. The director is not going to be the same for both the english and japanese versions, and so both directors will have differing preferences, and so the emotions relayed will be different.

also, Mafuyu with a bad american accent? As previously stated, I will cut someone.

There are jokes however that may not make sense and sometimes they keep them in the dub sometimes they don't like the black hanafuda tongue twister in bakemonogatari. The english uses a different tongue twister, because ours are not just syllables that rhyme they are entire words that rhyme or form a sentance like she sells sea shells by the sea shore.

@YamiPoyo maybe you can watched the subbed version so you can improve you English reading skills AND learn a little bit of Japanese at the same time even if its a few words. Overall the dubs just sound terrible compared to the original. For that reason only I would watch subs instead.

@Skypalladin You can't summon during an opponent's turn unless you've a trap or magic card that allows for such an effect(generally making the summoned monster the target of the attack). And God Cards are affected to a certain extent but can't be destroyed by card effects. Even the effect of another god card only weakens them.
