  • Great way of finding your weaknesses. Nice vid ;)

  • ari this is fenominal. i think ppl would learn more this way then any other styhle of teaching.

  • Good method of training, I will use it now.

  • Good method of training, I will use it now.

  • THS iS SHIT

  • @0poop0 Man, that is deeply philosophical shit. If you were any more convincing, I think my skull cap would just explode out the fuckin top. I bet you even tried the drill before forming your expert opinion.

  • good vid guys thanks!

  • not only is this useful but i could see myself doing this out of complete boredom

  • I suggest you do this with a standing game as well

  • Grip fighting is better for standing because you need to engage your hips for a throw its a different dynamic then on the ground.

  • when ppl fight they dont think as much, the adrenaline clouds their mind and they act on instinct, that's how they lose.

  • only if your instincts suck

  • jajajajajjajaaaa u "wrote" my mind.

  • Creepy how I can do that eh?

  • many times instinct brings victory

  • @infinitytru only if you train your techniques to the point that your instinct becomes to do proper technique rather than sloppy technique. bad instincts against a trained fighter = a whole lot of pain

  • @destroyallnerds As long as you train for that muscle memory, your instinct will not fail. Rarely will someone fight and not use any instinct, It's just reaction to what is given to you.

  • HELL YEAH!

That's a great idea, I tend to freeze when I'm caught off guard, this will certainly help me out. Thanks!

  • "Hey that was two moves cheater"

  • Great Way To Train Im Going To Reccomend This And Practice Out Side Of The Dojo Its A Great Training Method For Ground Fighting.

  • This is so Fun to Do!!!

  • this is awesome!thx alot

  • If we werent already doing this i would definetly suggest it to my instructor :)

a great way to train the mind for groundfighting.

    Great vid Sub101!!! 5/5 favorite :)

  • excellent

  • Im going straight to my instructor and suggest this.

  • Not nearly enough people roll light and do this type of thing. Gotta learn to crawl before you can walk. Good vid.

  • I love the idea! This should help my training a lot in groundfighting.

  • sounds pretty good

  • Excellent technique and drill. Now do it blindfolded and you have a nice little twist.

  • amazng idea!!!many thanks!

  • Ya did that with Pedro like 10 years ago and forgot about it very nice buddy

  • great drill. lets you think rather then just reacting.

  • Brilliant!

  • This looks pretty cool, I'm going to try it and ask my instructor about it.

  • Great lesson!

  • Thats a really good idea! Definately trying it out.

  • Definitely.

  • Sorry to nitpik but that second move was actually 12 moves. ;)

I did a version of this with a training partner once while at work. We were rolling in our heads and just kept on working while we called out our moves.

  • Nice drill - thanks for all your efforts, Gents

  • very good

  • This is such a good idea! Wow, spread the word!

I wish people at my BJJ school would do that...

You guys do it for 5 minutes in every class?

  • appreciate what you guys do. What are some good solo drills? im away at school and nobody does bjj there.

  • Very good idea. I first saw this on the Gracie video with Royce and Rorion. I can definitely see how it would help attack and defend as well as learn different routes to one submission. Keep up the good work guys! I subscribed and i've already checked 6-7 videos so far.

  • like at 0:48 something, dan could've gone to complete side control and at 1:02 he couldve gone to an armbar...

  • nice...one question. how far do you go as "one move" goes? to keep the chess match/reversals going? since one guy can just go completely to a dominant position or go straight for a submission hold in one move...

  • your videos r really cool guys. But its too short...LOL

Talk a bit more, elaborate etc...

  • Het Icy:

We make our videos about 2 minutes long because a lot of instructionals go on forever! We get the information out, tell the details needed and allow people to replay them over and over. It is tough watching a video that is 9 minutes long on one technique. Besides, who wants to here us ramble on for another few minutes ;-)

  • @Submissions101 u guys need to stop disabling comments on some of your vids please ima ask question kinda guy

  • Nice gonna recommend it to some the guys over where I train at.

  • Oh hot. First, and I love your videos.

  • Cool! We do that with Aikido locks, symoultnaious blocking/striking as well, and it really increased the level of training. I never tried it with grappling because I didn't think "a move" would be easy enough to define. But... looks like it is! We'll give 'er a go! Thanks Ari!

  • Simply Genius

  • You guys are great. Where is your school? I'd love to join.

  • AHHHH............. nice i like it.

  • Awesome Thanks!

  • I love both chess AND Jujitsu so I really like the idea! 5 stars.

  • Same here, and have to admit that currently I'm much better at chess than grappling (master at 2283 in chess and 4th degree white belt). Working on it though :]

  • BEAUTIFUL!!

    Thank you sir!

  • nice.
