Rofl, no to spoil the trick but he either had a magnet ring or just held it in his hand (behind the soda), when he shook it he either put it on the bottom of the can when he was holding it upside down or just gapped his hand so the coin could slid back and forth and hit the can so he could make it sound like it was inside and when he opened it notice he put his hand over it when he did, he just slipped the coin in. simple as that.

When he slaped the coin and the soda together the coin was on the bottom of the soda, possible because a soda isn't completely flat there's a small ridge encircling the bottom. Notice he holds the coke at an angle to balance the quarter. If you watch closely you'll notice he quickly connects the base of the soda with his hand at which point he moves the quarter back to his hand. The shaking comes from the quarter hitting the exterior, then when he pulls the tab he slips the quarter into the coke

I hate to tell you this but the people that make that show got tips from people on here that give false tutorials, goto the real source and learn it from Wayne Houchin, he came out with this effect and it uses an un-opened can of pop and no extra quarters at all I know because this was the first effect I ever learned and it's got me some of the best reactions I have ever got in my entire career.
