yes but the government uses this shit to control everyone and spread government. there's more to life than the military. the victory wasn't so pure as it sounds either because the Russians committed many crimes against humanity then. i would not be too proud to be a communist. maybe fighting the nazis is something to be proud of but the rest is not. remember Stalin even partnered with Hitler and experimented on people like the nazis. communist china also commits many crimes.

I don't that they had good intentions, but Soviet wasn't free. I suppose they avoided outright slaughter in more cases than one, but we're talking about a lesser evil here, not good.
A better cause would have been if the soldiers turned their pipes towards Moscow and Stalin, but i guess they didn't, for whatever reason...

I'm not American, I don't respect American values, but you need to have a rational view of history!
Not much was accomplished in 1945 by Russian soldiers for several reasons:
1. Stalin kept going with his genocidal tactics after the war and was never put on trial for what he did.
2. Germany had lost the war on all fronts by 1944 (you could even make the case that Hitler had lost in 1941), 1945 wasn't special.
3. The Lion's share of the thank belongs to the Anglo-Saxon forces regardless.

1. Stalin never used 'genocidal' tactics, be careful with your terms, they speak more about you and your biased sources than about the facts.
2. 70% of german divisions were defeated by the USSR during 4 years of the war. Much less was the effort of any other country.
3. i see no reason to thank anglo-saxon cowards as it was them to stimulate Hitler with the notoriously known Munich agreement.
4. I would advise you to study history well.

2. Because Hitler concentrated his efforts towards the east once he realized that he didn't have a chance in hell of ever tainge on the UK and because of the support the US gave USSR trough the Lend-Lease Act.

3. I agree, that was not the right decision to make at the time, but the power that US and UK could show for with more than twice the industrial power of Soviet (with the Lend-Lease power accounted for) it's to no use arguing that they didn't put up anything, because they did.

Hungary decided they would no longer keep their people imprisoned and opened their border with Austria.
The East German Politburo complained because their people were escaping to West Germany through Hungary.
East Germans flooded to the West in the summer of 1989.
That led to the fall of the Berlin Wall and collapse of the Soviet puppet regimes.

They weren't too upset by the revolution, the ruling of the Czars had to be overthrown, Britain, France and USA supported that. Socialism came afterward in the civil war, and no one really cared about what happened in Russia at the time on top of being tired of war after WW1, so it's understandable that the war was won by the reds.

The UK didn't bother sending all poor people to Botany Bay, that would have been way to expensive.
Finding a job wasn't hard in the industrial revolution, labor demand has never been as high as by then. The problem I suppose would have been to find a job with decent working conditions, but they were improved as time passed so that's a non-issue anyway.

The civil rights movement had started before the war, but you are probably right when you say the Cold War shaped the world to a great deal, but I don't think it's a positive development.
I hate the US foreign policy and the banking institutions of UK, US and EU as much as you probably do. Are you saying that Soviet created the current situation? If so it doesn't help your argument.

If Russia was France in size, they would have been overrun in 1941 in less time than France was in 1940.
The only reason the Soviet Union survived in 1941 was because of it's vast landspace.
And if not for the British delaying the start of Barbarossa by at least a month due to the Battle of Greece and Crete, Hitler would have launched his invasion in April 1941, taken Moscow and likely would have won in 1941.

The reason why Hitler invaded the USSR in 1941 was to show the British the futility of holding out against Nazi Germany and to get the British to agree to an armistice since Hitler did not want to destroy the British Empire!!
Hitler said "all you have to do is to kick in the door and the whole rotten structure will collapse" in referring to the Soviet Union.
