  • Mickey Dolenz and Eddy Van Halen: Separated at Birth

  • So hilarious when Mickey laughs randomly

  • Joan Was sooo cute!!

  • i love how Micky just burst out into laughter when i did XD

  • i love how Micky just burst out into laughter when i did XD

  • Let Micky prove his love Joan, he'll make you proud!

  • I seem to recall that originally everyone found Davey as the hearthrob. But then there was like a monkeys reuniting many years later on TV and all the girls were going crazy for Mickey. Pretty cool. I love all the monkeys. They're great. What the heck happened to mike in this interview. I heard his mom invented whiteout. Course that might just have been an 80's urban legend. :)

  • @mikeknight4u Yes Nesmith's mother invented Liquid Paper, and I've heard Nesmith was never happy being a Monkee, (though I'm sure he enjoyed the royalties) so he probably was not often seen in interviews and reunions etc.

  • @mikeknight4u ....I'd crawl over D. Jones and M. Dolenz to get to Peter Tork any day!!!

  • @Torkgasmicgirl8

hmm...Peter Tork. Never thought of him as a heart throb. Good to know though that women dig him too! :)

  • They are pretty much doing this at the time - for the money!!!!! Michael Nesmith didn;t need it as his mother invented "White Out" and started that company in Texas!!!!!

  • The Monkees invented ADHD.

  • White shoes, shoulder pads and perms... Damn I miss the 80's HAHAHAHAHA

  • Thank you for posting this! I had this on tape when I was a kid and watched it a zillion times until my stupid brother taped over it.

  • @Lotmeister LOL! Sorry, didn't mean to laugh at your comment, but I could just "hear" the tone of your voice. I would have killed my brother (hahaha). I have it on VHS still to this day. Also I have the Monkees when they were on Sally Jesse Rafael. If I was a computer gu-ru, I'd like to put it on YouTube for all the Monkees fans to watch.

  • Micky's laugh is priceless!! SO CUTE!!!

  • Thankfully, Davey soon after got rid of that ugly mid-'80s mullet.

  • They really acted like idiots. However, I liked the music.

  • @joclance22 I love the boys, but you are right, they are allways "On" and trying to one up each other

  • Mickey looks like Bizzy D!

  • Joan Was a babe!!

  • Circus boy.

  • lol i love them

  • Very cool! Love them! And Davy is still so hot here!

  • I wish Mike would come to the interviews more often.

  • So wonderful to see the actors and musicians/instrumentalists that you grew up with. To see these guys still alive, healthy and still involved with each other is so remarkable. Love The Monkeys.

  • where was Mike ?

  • Mike was off running a business here. d

  • my name is valleri i was named after the song by the monkees its even spelled the same way

  • Bubble headed bleach blond on the local TV news. Wonder if Don Henley wrote that song about her? Anyway when I was younger, I was a Davey fan. Then I got older and realized Mickey was my man!

  • the Henley tune is about Christine Lund , newscaster on Los Angeles tv channel KABC. She reported , in depth, about a teenage hooker who od'd on coke at Henley's house and had to be rushed by ambulance to a hospital.

  • Yes, I remember hearing that the "bubble headed bleach blonde from the local TV news" was Christine Lund. Heard it from my my dad, as I was awful young at the time. Dad also said she had no hips, no curves, like a boy. My dad worked on Family Feud w/ Richard Dawson at the time. He kept the answer board running. He used to brag that he got to park in John Travolta's parking spot, as they had opposite hours.

  • This was done on my B.Day I was a very happy girl.

  • I took my daughter to their reunion tour in Detroit in 1986 and she loved it. They were terrific and put on a great show.

  • Oh please, Peter must have been the best instrumentalist. He was always the bright one, and that's why he played the "dummy", much in the same way that Tom Smothers played so, off of Dick Smothers. I think the fact that the 3 here agree with Davy on that fact renders what you believe in opposition somewhat flat. PS: How frickin old are you guys saying this lady is "hot!" ? Seriously, you must be in your 70s...

  • @TempusTransit A year late, sorry but; to my knowledge, the only one that could play an instrument at all was Mike Nesmith.

  • @theScytheofGod Actually, Peter Tork was the most talented of their instrumentalists. He could play more instruments than the other three combined by a long shot.

  • Dig Davy's mullet!

  • Joan Is too damn cute here!!!

  • Joan Lunden was a cub reporter at WABC TV looking like a bleach blonde dumb blonde around '76. When her book came out she never had a single photo of herself from back then.

  • She looks like a babe here!!

    80s hair and all.

  • Is there any way I can get a copy of this and the Today show? (We communicated about a year ago.)

  • i love mickey as the 23 hour doorman

  • I had that album on tape. Wore it out! I love these guys!

  • its Joan Lunden!

  • I like the 2 seconds of INXS at the end. Perfect complement, eh?

  • This aired on my birthday! I wasn't born yet then, but, hey.

  • Yeah, I was a whole 11 days old!

  • hehe, cool! :)

  • And this was the day I was born! :-)

  • STAR PEACE 4EVER

  • I think it's true to say that the 80s was probably the best generation for The Monkees, at least in my own eyes. The guys have seemed to accept who they are and are not trying to prove anything, so in a sense, they are very relaxed and that made the concerts and interviews like this one so incredible.

  • No, instrumentally (very strategic word!) Peter probably was the best musician. He could play a bunch of instruments and play them well. He hung out with Stephen Stills and that whole crowd long before the Monkees. Mike was definetly the best songwriter, but he couldnt teach Peter anything instrumentally.

  • Davy really spoke out of line when he said that Peter was the best musician as far as he was concerned-that's nowhere near true because to Micky's way of thinking and to everyone's who felt like him and still feel, Mike was the best of the four and Peter learned his experience from Mike-so, really Mike was the best and Peter was the second best

  • GimmeKitty - I bet you are just a groovy well-rounded individual who needs a big, wet kiss.

  • ROFLMAO!

  • That's not a very nice thing to say about my fellow Monkeelanders. I'm a member there, and I do have a life, I go out and have a good time and spend time with people I care about.

  • "Anyone that remembers the 60's". Thats funny!

  • GREAT MONKEES CLIP!!! JOAN LONDON is SMOKING HOT!!! I LOVE YOU!!!

  • I want that on DVD! I have this on an old tape but with no way to burn this to DVD... Thanks so much for sharing... I met Micky and Peter in 2001 and are the sweetest people in the world... Can't say the same for Dave though.... I would love to have this on DVD...

  • Thanks!

  • Still crazy after all these years. Thanks for sharing.

  • How could they not be? They're just balls of energy!

  • thanks! - they are all so funny in this clip!
