You should have more protein that three half slices of shrimp, just sayin'.
Also use red or yellow bell peppers for some color contrast. Mint has a brighter flavor than parsley. Chop or tear the lettuce so you get a tighter roll. Julienne your vegetables for a tighter roll as well. Vietnamese rolls need to be tighter or the contents will fall out when you take a bite.
i appreciate the video, but his rolling skills is all wrong. if you fold the vertical sides inwards first, then roll the horizontal side upwards and away from your body, you get a tighter roll. and also because some people do not like garlic chives, you can insert the garlic chives after rolling it halfway so that it can be removed
Nice video. A co worker made these for a pot luck and I was wondering how to do it. It doesn't look too complex. Although I think she used cilantro instead of parsley. I like the looks of the sauce too.
These look completely different from the Spring Rolls I was looking for. maybe because im mexican and ill i know about spring rolls are the ones they sell at the chinese buffets. Ill try these! good cheff funnny and entertaining!
@yazlinne50 No, those are Chinese spring rolls, which are just a vegetarian version of egg rolls. These are Vietnamese spring rolls. Yeah, it's confusing :P
@yazlinne50 this video isnt for spring rolls. there are two types of main rolls in vietnam. this video is for "summer rolls" . spring rolls are rolls that are fried and it uses a different type of wrap. the ones you get at chinese restuarants are eggrolls. they use different filling and different type of wraps as well. vietnamese rolls taste differnt from chinese rolls. hope that cleared things up for you

no, it is not shame... it is the same area of the world and it is normal they have similar dishes ... specially when for centuries some of these countries have been one. It happens in Europe too. What many of you call it French it has been the same or very similar dish for centuries. Example" French toast, custard, almond deserts etc... it is SPANISH origen and originally came from the arabs who took it to spain. And since Italy WAS NOT ITALY AS A COUNTRY until 1800's it is normal to think

I like cooking thin rice noodle into a spicy Satay sauce (what i use for Hot pot) until noodle absorb all flavor and left to dry. I add that into spring roll. So good!
I personally prefer the fish sauce, however if you go to any vietnamese restaurants in US they would serve spring roll with a sauce mix between hoisin sauce and peanut butter.
