I guess it's they way the guest singer freak'ed out (all in good fun) then realized it was his "CHANCE" to live out his dream...and that he did. GOOD FOR HIM ! Thanks to Mr Aiken for doing this performance on live television. It's so fun to watch and imspirational because it's real and so heartfelt. WOW !

@jamestheman87 The guy with the glasses was a guy who auditioned but didn't make it. He literally idolized Clay, and had patterned himself after Clay's post-Idol look. When Clay knew he was going to be doing this, he said(afterward) he didn't want to come back looking like he never left. So, they went with a new look. It was more talked about the next day than Prince's performance, or who won. It was also voted the #1 reality show moment that year.

Yes, it's a soap opera but a damn good one. I will say in all fairness, that my favorite person to EVER come blazing out of this show is just one man. He's humble. He's amazing. I was on vacation in London and watching the television from the bed in the hotel room....American Idol Finale show came on ...when I saw Clay ..hehe..I almost felled down trying to get up from the bed so quickly to get a closer look at the TV...he sure looked cute that night! Check out Clay's new cd on June 1, 2010 Tried and True. Remember him singing Mack The Knife, Unchained Melody on AI 2 show..it will be on the cd. It was fun watching this video again!

"Guy #2" is Clay Aiken, the runner-up from Season 2, and the first "kid" won a fun award during the Season 5 finale for being the most unique/strange person to audition for that season. He was a big Clay Aiken fan, and was very pleasantly surprised to see Clay come on stage to sing with him.
