One of the faves of my childhood. I remember it came in a beautiful black & white sleeve, with band member profiles at the back. Great value for pocket money!
muds songs were written by Mike Chin and Nicky Chapman (ChiniChap) it took Les Gray to bring em to life. He always looked like he was having the time of his life on stage. RIP les and Dave Mount i'm 50 now but i always wanted to be you.
my sympathies to anyone who missed the 70's, they were a total blast, we had the best music from the commerical fun stuff, mud slade sweet etc, to the pure rock of Led Zep. Thanks for this, brings back memories of me and me first boyfriend who was a real mudd fan.
Like to see the self acclaimed 'great bands' perform anywhere near as good as this, the sence of fun when these guys hit the stage was incredable, the top spot in Margate was the place of my dreams, shame chinn & chapman didnt look after them. Thank you boys you are a great band, thats what the fans said every time i see you,you didnt need hype or the money making media behind you like the self admiring crap that pose as 'Rock stars' now, there not fit to lick your boots!.
bit like quo really without the raw power and a elvis impersonator however this is a million times better than useless wankers like the killers and kaiser chiefs
Great example of the 'pop' end of 1970s glam, but what's remarkable from an historical point of view is how strongly the music anticipates the Sex Pistols. Erase all of the vocals, give Johnny Lydon something to get steamed and rant about over the music, and you'd have something which could have arguably passed muster on 'Never Mind The Bollocks'.
I went to see this shower - must have been 35/36 years ago, probably more - I would have been 14, maybe 15. I wonder the if the Central Halls Chatham is still there? I saw Showaddywaddy there as well. And they worry about the youth of today? ;-)
@MrKennelman Well guess what? The Central Halls Chatham is still there an on October 4th 2010 you can see Mud II, The Rubettes and Too Rex. The show is for Breast Cancer and is called White Caps, Tiger Crepes and Feather Boas
'They gave you minks and dreams AND pinks and greens' no? I'm prepared to be wrong but I always thought the pinks and greens were a drug reference to speed and barbiturates. Great observation from Sir Les on TOTP if that's right!!! Peace.
@kenfig i thought it was Les doing his best Elvis not Roy!! Matters not. I loved Mud. Les Gray was a fantastic entertainer, saw them in concert in the 70s...AWESOME!!
Best ever, does anyone know who in the band thought it was a good idea for Rob & Ray (guitars) to waddle around the stage like ducks and flapping their guitars all over the place, no one else does it like that?
Happy memories. Great song Great band

I don't think Mud wrote their own stuff which is kind of strange considering their line up included song writing extraordinare Rob Davis.

The strange thing about Mud is that their guitarist Rob Davis is a genius song writer, yet all their hits were penned by other people.

Did they show this on a 70s compilation show or a full TOTP episode.
