  • 1:17. Zelda is your... ... ... Zeldas me what!?? .... ZELDAS MY WHAT ANSWER ME!!!! haha awesome series rules ass:)

  • HELLO FRIEND! VERY GOOD THIS VIDEO! HOW DO YOU BY PASS ON TO THE HOLES WITHOUT CAIR, VC USA SOME CONTROL TURBO? ENSIANA ME! AND THAT TO PLAYING WITH EMULATOR AND FOUND VERY INTERESTING MOVES WITH THE LINK! Thanks EVEN THE VIDEO,,, HOW YOU DOING?

  • @MrAdriano1000 No caps lock please... After you obtain the Pegasus Boots, you can press A every second frame (Only possible when making a Tool Assisted Speedrun of with the use of a turbo controller) to hover over holes.

If you follow the first link in the description, you'll find my comments for the run.

  • ok i have a question what does TASing actually do for the player/speedrunner?

  • @serisdovakhin You reduce the game speed to simulate the human reflexes. You play the game frame by frame (60 frames/second) and for each frame you choose what input to be made.

You also use save states constantly to overcome the human errors. The idea of a TAS is to see how fast a game can be beaten when everything is perfected. It's a run to find the limits for the game, while a real time run is the limits of the player.

You can visit TASvideos for more information.

  • Moonwalkin

    LIKE A BOSS

  • This brings back memories of my childhood. I'm stunned on how you can finish the whole game in under an hour and a half when it look me years to finish it. :-)

  • @LoveGeekChic There's a huge bug in it actually, if you want to see it, that lets you beat the game in <5 minutes.

  • the music in this game is so amazing....why kind current zelda's be like this one =(

  • @TheLuckySaGe why can't*

  • How the fuck did you walk across the air to other plains like you did?

  • @sarf2323 After you obtain the Pegasus Boots, press A every second frame to hover. Stuff like that is explained if you follow the link in the description.

  • i want a remake of this game on the wii U with those amazing graphics.

  • @TheLuckySaGe Me too

  • 38:55 Mario's picture on the wall

  • I like the TAS or just plain one segmented speedruns should have commentary over them. Not live commentary, seeing as that would be a little difficult, but I think it should be after its all done.

  • O_O

  • Right now, I'm going to copy this move @16:42 so I can get the 3rd pendant XD

  • Keep up all the awesome work Tompa~ and all you other TASers~ Always fun to watch

  • This brings back memoreys.

  • I got the new version and for the SP and i modded one of my profiles with the Action Replay and there is no game better than Zelda besides Halo which i think is tied

  • 20 minutes for the first 3 dungeons >_> it takes me that time to finish the first one

  • this guy is hardcore

  • @Epidemic747 Nah, not really. I'm not even satisfied with the run and I have started an improvement that will be several minutes faster.

    But thanks =).

  • Help me... Yeah I'll be there in three minutes

  • Sex with a cheap prostitute- $5

    Drinking Redbull-$10

    Drinking more Redbull-$20

Killing Ganon without the use of Silver Arrows...Priceless.

  • This game reminds me of graal classic

  • I think the whole "TAS not meant to show skill" thing is kind of condescending and dishonest since it's just a different type of skill, imo.

  • @wrmskll I know. We just say it so as not to confuse the simple-minded people who think TASing is "cheating".

  • so many memories!

  • this game took me a decade to beat... im not even kidding! 10 years. Now there was a period of about 5 months where i did not play it, but yea... 10 years

  • MotherFucking Mike

  • There's a glitch apparently where you can beat the game in 5 min.

  • @nintendoatarikiller Funny how people think that glitch is something new, it has been wellknown for many many years. This run doesn't use it because I aim to beat all dungeons.

The video response uses "that" glitch though, or a variant and much first version of it.

  • I can beat in 5 minutes

  • i like 1:12:47, i can hear link saying "take that you bastard!"

  • why is his hair pink?

  • @123456789kbx Limited Pallet of colors. :U

  • @armegeddis i dun get it. o3o

  • @123456789kbx They had a limited amount of colors to work with for characters, so he ended up with pink hair. o.o

  • @armegeddis CULDNT THEY HAVE USED THE SAME YELLOW AS THE TRIFORCE? sorry caps were on

  • @123456789kbx They didn't have that in the pallates for the CHARACTERS. omo

  • @armegeddis oh okay

  • @123456789kbx thats his hair!? i always thought it was the edge of his hat...

  • first boss fight is so pimp 9:10

  • what are these bug when you walk on the air ?

  • @tidus259 When you have the Pegasus Boots obtained, you can turbo the A button (Pressing A every second frame) to float over the holes.

  • @Tomtelala

ok thank you i'll try this ;)

  • @tidus259 use the "a" button autofire in an emulator.

  • second bos just got speed-raped lol

  • is it only me who think this is the best zelda game ever??

  • @nintendoin93 nope Chuck Testa. but seriously, i'm totally with you! :D

  • Classic video game. One of my favorites of the Zelda franchise.

  • @RomanticRebel267 Funny thing, this game is 20 years old and is still fascinating to watch "and" play.. now name a 10 years old game where this applies ^^

  • @rebellis13 Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

  • Link: The Hero of Seizures

  • How do you skip Silver Arrows???

  • @KzarGames During the last phase of the fight, when Ganon is about to teleport away, you have about 3 frames where you can damage hit with the sword. If you use spinattacks it's pretty easy to hit him.

  • @Tomtelala Ah. I was wondering why he wasn't turning grey. Also, would it be faster to get the Golden Sword since you would kill the bosses faster? Or would the whole Giant Bomb Sequence ruin the time aspect of it?

  • @KzarGames Skipping the superbomb is a lot faster than. Even though it speeds up some fights in the dungeons as well as Ganon. I don't know exactly how must it saves, never really checked when I made this run. But it's faster by like 30-60 seconds at least. Possibly more.

  • @Tomtelala Kinda thought so. Worth a check though. Great job on this TAS by the way. I could never do a TAS of the full game I dont have that kind of patience lol.

  • @KzarGames Thanks =). Yeah, it takes a long time to do. I was working on this one for about 6 months time. I'm not completely satisfied with the run though. I have started improving it, using the Japanese version which has a lot of exclusive glitches. I have also found a few more tricks as well as making it a lot more optimised in general.

  • Lol! TAS'ing is always so ridiculous. Don't take that wrong... Love them, but seriously! Damn!!

  • Is the back-forth motion actually add to his speed? I can't really tell.

  • @Megahedron1501 It is, yeah. Your normal walking speed is 1-2-1-2 pixels moved each frame. But with the wobbling technique, it speeds it up to 2-2-2-2 pixels/frame instead.

You can only do it when walking up and left however. Sometimes when I was walking next to a wall, you are able to use a different method that speeds you up the same way, but doesn't have the wobbling.

  • 23:47 - lmao

  • best Zelda ever.. and u did ut absofuckinglutly great

  • it's too bad all the newer Link games aren't quite as good as this one

  • The sword rape never gets old.

  • I'll describe these later...

  • Stupid Youtube screwing up the Framrate so we cant see the awesome tricks...=/

  • TAS did more in 20 minutes than what id do in an hour

  • Hahaha, 9:14-9:30 is the best thing I've ever seen. He slashes the sword to the music and then DESTROYS the boss.

  • I wish this game should be a movie :) lol

  • I wonder if a TAS using the under the map glitch would be legal? I recall being able to beat the game rapidly on console using that glitch

  • @k0namiman There's a different category for that "under the map" glitch. You can see such run in the video response.

As you can use that glitch to quickly beat the game, it has been banned in the "full run" category.

  • 1:18 G! you can do it! lol XD

  • 9:18 is pretty much the coolest thing I've seen all day

  • Well I just spent the last 84 minutes of my life watching this entire video, and there wasn't one second that I didn't enjoy.

    But seriously...

    1:02:48

    1:04:43.....THE FUCK??

  • @japs209 The floating is done by pressing A, after you have obtained the pegasus boots, every second frame.

If you follow the first link in the description you can see my explanations to all tricks and such used in the run.

Thanks for enjoying the run! =)

  • I started this game tonight. And the truth is that, i like this more than ocarina or majoras! A-M-A-Z-I-N-G game, the cute graphics, the story, the music, the gameplay, the combats, the puzzles i really cannot figure out something negative for this game :)

  • you giong trough the game like a boss

  • When i saw the first Boss got raped, I knew this will be an awesome TAS :D

  • @Zestara Thanks =)! It is heavily improveable however, which I will probably start working on soon.

  • And don't you need the silver arrows to beat Ganon? Why did it work without them???

  • How is it possible to walk over some of the pits? And I was under the impression that Link could run faster than usual even before he gets that boots...

  • @dustinbachstein Most stuff are explained in the movie comments I did if you follow the link in the description.

The floating is done by pressing A every second frame after the Pegasus Boots are obtained. And yes, you can walk faster than usual, this is called wobbling. It is done by holding up/left and pressing down/right every second frame. Looks like Link is walking backwards.

During a few frames when Ganon is teleporting, you are able to damage him without silver arrows.

  • @Tomtelala Thanks a lot for the infos! Very good video!

  • was ein freak , aber schön mal wieder zu sehen was man früher da alles durchgemacht hat :)

  • @TheGreatWalkthrough i tink it is a muffin

  • @STMB64 wrong lol, this game is hard as hell until you get used to it

  • @BoneInThaHouse iv played and iv beat i think its harder than oot but its one hell of a game with all the puzzels and they madde a fourswords adventure wich is a kind of same but better graghics still i kind of think its easy and my brother does speed runs all the time with me in the rooom so he tells me all the secrets and glitches... plus he gave me his game shark and action replay still it iis one hell of a game

  • This just shows how difficult Legend of Zelda is. Even with Uber Hacks, it takes almost an hour and a half to complete.

In that amount of time, I'd probably have just gotten to the 1st dungeon.

  • @fudgyhoops No, it can be done much faster, this does run does not allowed to glitch out.

  • @NathanWubs Theres a version of this with GLITCHES USED?? MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE MUSTSEE

  • 23:47 ...and the spikes at 41:10 O_o

  • @FMAiscool Or what I did at 1:12:47 :D.

  • @Tomtelala KBoy515 noticed that one xD

  • I signed this video for rape... of my childhood!

  • Sense is like cheesecake. This run makes none.

  • lol how you can walk on the holes in the ground?"?"!

  • @Daar94 After getting the pegasus boots, you can use turbo on A (Pressing A once every second frame) to float over holes.

This way you can also walk through small walls, as seen in the Dark Palace when I got the hammer.

  • @Daar94 After you have the pegasus boots, charging at the hole, and then using turbo for that button.

  • @CidHighwindFF7 You don't need to charge against the hole though... You just need to start turboing A.

  • @TheGreatWalkthrough Muffin? this looked like a Cupcake

  • lol @ 1:12:48

link sticking that sword up that ass

  • Well, and I thought, I were good at ALTTP.

  • 24:01 Agahnim raping Link!

  • One of the things I love about TASs is the ability to screw around during timed events like the flying tile room in the third dungeon.

  • amazing

  • FUCK!, WHAT THE HELL!. OH MY GOD!, HOLLY HELL!, HOW IN THE HELL!. those words I used most while watching this video, that guy is ridiculous and one hell of a zelda player.

  • @death0god1993 somewhere between that and the fact it's "tool assisted speedrun" and not just a speedrun

  • AAAAHHHH CREDITS SONG FROM IWBTG!!!

  • I like these TAS Videos, but i do really disturb me on one thing, why do they always run backwards in all videos? or spin... like in this one?

  • @creativeboy1 If you hold up and press down every second frame, Link's movement will speed up from moving 1-2-1-2 pixels every frame, to 2-2-2-2 pixels every frames. When you do this, Link will be turning around every second frame. This is also done the same way when going to the left.

I agree that it is a bit annoying to watch though, so I'm sorry about that.

  • @Tomtelala Thats cool anyway =) do you do this with a tool or do you press down by your self? :P

no need to say sorry :P and btw, is it the same in Ocarina & Majoras mask but there he never turns around when he goes backwards ;P so i have been thinking now after these videos that you go faster just lock cam and go backwards xD

  • @creativeboy1 This is a TAS, so I was using an emulator when recording it. Most controllers aren't able to press up+down/left+right at the same time, if they are worn out they can however.

In OoT/MM you walk faster backwards than forwards. Pretty weird that they made it that way, but well...

  • 1 of the best videos ive ever seen .. when i was a kid i playd this game every day after school for like 4 months before i beat it.. so this video for me is worth watching an hour for :-P Lol =D

  • Why did the Butterflything died he didn´t even hit it or?

  • @AlexAgent00 If you have your sword out, and an enemy hits it, you can press the run button quickly and the sword will continue to be kept out.

Enemies can't normally be hit that often though, usually takes like half a second before you can hit attack them again. Mothula is sort of an exception however. If you attack it so that it hits the spikes, it may reset his vulnerability so that you can hit it very quickly a second time. Two such "double hits" will do the job!

  • @gockaz53 No, that is the only way it will work.

  • @gockaz53 There are explanations for what's going on if you follow the link in the movie description.

To do that you first need to have the Pegasus Boots. If you press A every second frame you are able to float over holes. Not doable on console without a turbo button.

  • best 1:24:02 of my life.

  • I can beat this game in 5 minutes =.=

  • @frankyagernull Anyone can.

  • @JonnyJinx04 Apparently not Tompa.

  • @frankyagernull Apparently not, seeing as how he's done it in less than 4 minutes. Didn't it ever occur to you that he might want to show off other ways of beating the game instead of the fastest and that its been done using the glitch before?

Maybe if you didn't have the brain capacity of a slug, you would have realised that.

  • @JonnyJinx04 Why did you say apparently not, like you're agreeing with me? And show off? you're an idiot. This is done is slow motion and not showing any kind of skill.

I don't even know why they even put up the guy's name like he should be praised.

  • @frankyagernull You are correct that a TAS isn't supposed to show any game play skill, as that's what you have real time runs for.

Instead, the skill comes from creativity, glitch finding, optimisation and patience. And that's something that not everyon has.

I'm not bragging about the run and even though basically anyone can do it, these runs don't pop out by themself, someone has to make it. And in this case, that person was me.

  • The whole "TAS aren't meant to show skill" thing seems kind of dismissive. It really does, it's just more of a puzzle-solving or engineering type of skill. :)

  • @OneEightZeroZero Yeah, I think it does take skill to make these. You need to have the know-how and aptitude for it I guess, plus it takes a lot of working out and community efforts to research glitches and work out how to optimize everything they can, I'd imagine.

    I'm not a TAS-er, but that's just what I figure.

  • I think the music for when you pull out the master sword is awesome :D

  • Is it all the same guy with all the speed run videos on this channel. because if it is then holy shit is he good

  • @iCydiaX No, all runs on Swordless' channel wasn't done by him. That's why all of them are credited, which is mentioned at several locations.

This one, for example, was done by me.

  • WTF after I defeat the boss on min 24 I turn into a dumbass bunny

  • 1:14:30 ? kk

  • 1:12:48 lol

I love the perfection of the TASes, are really cool! Good job!

  • the only thing that i didnt like was the walking on air parts :/ i mean isnt a speedrun supposed to be what you're supposed to do just faster? instead of skipping steps to save time.

  • @TheLetsPlayTemple

If the game allows for it (like walking over pits), go for it. It adds for more creative solutions.

"i mean isnt a speedrun supposed to be what you're supposed to do just faster?"

'Sounds' like you've been reading stuff from Twin Galaxies.

The most popular speed runs like Morrowind, Mario 64, Quake 1, Portal (and many, many more) uses glitches.

There are very few games that were glitchless but were still popular like TSA's Ocarina of Time 5 hour run IIRC ;).

  • lmfao @ 23:48

  • 8:01- 8:04 moon walk!

  • Mmmm might as well get myself a bag of popcorn...(looks that its a hour and a half) uhhhh or 10!

    Great speedrun btw :D

  • 9:14-918 =beastness

  • Hurry princess! Let's weeble-wobble out of this prison!

  • I'va always wanted to see how a god would play this game. My thanks! XD

  • Lmao the first boss got arrow'd

  • Back in the years of the snes, I could not understand english. Even so, even then, I used to HATE that monkey from 0:25:45. I can see now why I hated him so blindly. HE STEALS YOUR RUPEES :C

  • How did he do that at 18:26-18:31

  • @berzerka5311 When you get the Pegasus Boots, you can float in midair if you press A (The button you run with) every second frame. It's not doable on console unless you have a turbo controller that can do it.

  • I don't understand how TAS doesn't display skill. I mean, the time, effort, and strategies put into it are amazing. While I agree its much easier to play perfectly, it skill requires abuse of luck, glitches, etc. kudos to TAS

  • 10 playes games???

  • @Ponziopelato81 Each time you make a S&Q, it adds one up. It's a kind of weird definition I would say, but that's how I got the number at least.

  • These turnarounds while walking: do they save time or are they just for entertainment?

  • @Norris155 It's faster to walk like that. With normal walking, Link moves 1-2-1-2 etc. pixels every frame. With the wobbling technique, it's 2-2-2-2 instead.

  • Comment removed

  • wtf is with link quivering with every step? i see it makes him faster, but how is this accomplished? give him a bunch of LSD?

  • @adamanddustinh Holding left and pressing right every second frame/holding up and pressing down every second frame. Can't be done to the right or when going down.

  • @Tomtelala wow... thats gotta be murder to your fingers... props to Tompa!

  • @adamanddustinh Well, considering that it is a TAS, and it's played on an emulator in slow motion and with save states, there are no problems to do the input.

  • I greatly appreciate that you post (TAS) whenever it is a TAS gameplay video. Others will try to take credit for an TAS gameplay video and claim it to be legit non TAS.
