Actually, if you do searches under Turbosquid for weapons such as swords and axes you will find several excellent, free models there. Unless you want to model these weapons to improve your modeling skills, I would always use a premade model when possible. Animation takes so much time that it is always advantageous to use something premade if it matches your art style.
