OK, I'm sorry about that last comment, I didn't read any of your other comments, just the one about clubbing moose. I thought your comment was a condescending remark about the seal hunt. It's a very touchy subject in Newfoundland, and when I see someone looking down on it I tend to go a bit over the top. Sorry about that. And no we don't club moose in Newfoundland. We're quite scared of them generally as they are very powerful animals with quite a strong kick, and a quick charge.
Ok when u dont live in Newfoundland this is nothin you see it all the time big deal (I use to live there =-() When i go on vacation there ill be like MOOSE and my family up there will be like kool what ever
I cant believe they got out of their CARS! WTHLELL..Not this chick! Those things are unpredictable. That is one thing Im worried about while there...Is Moose..and driving at night. It plain sucks.
I think I was there that day. Is this in Gross Mourn? I remember watching this moose cause some stupid trucker blew his horn and drove it away just like the end of this vid.
@kmaynard1000 if you get them with a traquilizer dart first then you might me able to get close and club them? My teacher tolded us that they club moose in Newfoundland
Think about it, not a lot of logic in clubbing an animal that size, let alone the fact it's a pretty cruel thing to do considering it'd take an awful lot to kill it.
@DoinThupidThings We don't, but if you can promise me it will make someonme in PETA cry, I will do it tomorrow on my way to work. Always see tywo or three. Pretty sure I could wack one...
@DoinThupidThings I seriously get pissed off with you self righteous idiots who look down on the seal hunt. Do you realize that the majority of families who do it have no other income in the winter and do it to live? Or that seals are over-populated in the arctic anyway and are endangering fish? What makes a seal more important than a fish, or a cow or chicken for that matter? Have you ever eaten veal (baby cow)? Also they haven't been clubbed in over 30 years it's done humanely now. So fuck off
@88blair88 Are you an idiot? Where does it say that I am against the seal hunt? In fact I can show you many posts I've made where I am arguing against the people who hate the seal hunt. Yes, I support a person's right to earn a living and feed their families-so if they have to hunt seals to do it then that works for me. So calm down and take your midol for god's sake
my backyard is all woods, so i see moose walking up the back lawn all the time! it's funny to see people so amazed by a moose, but i guess were used to them in newfoundland
It cracks me up to see the highway backed up with tourists looking at a moose..I dunno why. Maybe because I spend my time trying to avoid them on the highway.
dustinparsons, in our case, we travel from Australia to the US on vacation most years. Regularly we see moose and bears which are the highlight of our visit.
What the heck is going on there - must be tourists - Newfs see em all de time son. In fact, my uncle, also a doc (deceased) and his wife ran into one around Grand Falls, and they were picking moose hair out of the back seat for a long time after (obviously the car needed repairs and the moose died - but better him than my aunt and uncle!)
That moose gave me a hard time once.

You'd have to have one big club.
There would be no moose steaks on the table if you had to try and club them. :)

Do they club moose in Newfoundland?
DoinThupidThings 2 years ago
The answer is" NO " . My father-in-law confirms that . !
And they can not shoot the bull from road/highway but can shoot them if they are close to road .
Anyone has better answer please comment !

Absolutely but this kind of activity causes accidents, especially for a large truck coming up on this at 100 kmh.
