Sorry to ask you, but I want to buy an indian ringneck to me. Are they too loud? Its because I live in an apartment... Do you think that even aparating their wings they can fly away?
@jmyz1991 Quite is too much? Well... I want to have one on my apartment but I dont want people complaining about him. Do you think I can tame him so he doesnt make so much sound? And do you cut your ringnecks wings (so it cant fly too long)?
Many people don't know that African Ringneck, are more loud then the Indian Ringneck,,they looks almost the same, just the African have a very,very long tail and the Indian have more Blue in the head,and the tail is long but not as long of the African R.N.
hey can u help me i got my parakeet like 4 days ago and he gets on my finger and comes out of his cage but he wont sit still on my finger he will just fly around
@cenarsful Well, birds take a lot more time to get used to you unlike dogs or cats...I took me almost 6 months to get them to step up so you seem a bit lucky they stood on you finger for a short while...Just give it time and talk to it a lot more so it get to you and its new environment Remember, be patience with it... Have a good day!
@sprinky311 Cage with stand: 22.8" L X 22.8" W X 64" H; 1/2" Wire Spacing; Cage: 22.8" L X 22.8" W X 34" H $121.46 at petco and the ringneck is bigger
@TheLittle Pillow Some people say so but i've tried putting the cockateil in a different cage and couldn't stand the noise...They just like been together.
that's cute =) I have a ringneck and two budgies and my ringneck is in LOVE with my blue budgue.. I'm thinking of getting her a cockatiel as a friend =)
@TheLazyDeath All parakeet breeds have potential to talk, but depending on their personalities, some might talk more or less. Budgies are usually the active talkers, cockatiels like to sing more.
Yes they are, a friend of mine has one... But they need alot of time and attention because if not given, they will start plucking their feathers and have really dull coloring...Also, might start biting...But you probably know that
@jmyz1991 yes I have a Senegal parrot I just thought parakeet's were like budgies,cockateils etc. I was just wondering because the ringneck looks like a parrot
@jmyz1991 yea but one thing i dont understand why are they soo much more expensive than say a cockateil or even your ringneck was probably more expensive than your cockateil but why are they more rare or hard to breed? even thlough both of them are about the same size
@xToXiicxT3RRoRx Well, it might be because Senegal Parrots are less popular than cockateils and so breeder take that as an opportunity to increase their price...
@xToXiicxT3RRoRx I believe it is...The name ringneck comes form the black and pink stripe surrounding its neck and the word parakeet means long tail... Do you have a parrot?
@olliegons Well, it depends...Are you willing to put alot of work keeping them happy and health?Are you financially capable of providing for them(i spend roughly $50 a month on them)?And also, they are very social animals so alot of time with them will go a long way. You might want to consider getting siblings so that they will grow to love each other...Anyway Good luck, ringnecks are amazing!!!
my ringneck hates my cockatiel any ideas to help me

@jmyz1991 - I think he meant "operating," that is, clipping.
Yes, outside wind can catch them. So don't take them outside; even a clipped-wing bird can fly away.
