What a combination - I loved these episodes!! Matt Smiths ones are good to but not as good as these!!

@kailover92 You don't exactly have a right to compare Eleven's ONE season so far against Ten's 5 seasons. It's simply not a fair comparison. Wait till Smith gets his 5 seasons and we'll see who reigns supreme. It has been voted that Smith's Finale was the best one of them all. It was quite gorgeously epic and I re-watch his season nearly every day simply because I love him as the Doctor. He's going to be around for a long time so get used to the fact Tennant (while a good actor) is gone.

@Crem2057 Well, first of all, only his Doctor is gone. There's still his clone. Second, Tennant only had three series, not five. And Smith, while good, is nowhere near how good Tennant was in his first series. He has potential, he can be great, but as it is now, Tennant is superior. And third, he really does need some cool bad guys. The Power Ranger: Daleks won't cut it.

Tenennt is my all time fav, but I haven't got a single complaint about Smith's performance he was brilliant....Gillian is another story however. she looked nice, she acted well, but I haven't warmed 2 her character yet

@Crem2057 David Tennant didn't have five seasons, he had three (and then those four specials, spread across 2009). And I think comparing the actors is relatively redundant, given that what probably made season 5 (of the new series) better than Tennant's was the new head writer Steven Moffat - because let's face it, he's always been bloody brilliant, 'Blink' was just terrifying.

@DesperatelySeekingAz Ovrall I felt Series 5 2 b wkr than the prev seasons tho it was still some of the best TV all yr round. I think that was dwn to SO many of the ppl on the show either being new or having new positions 2 fill, eg Moff is a superb writer but its differ having 1 or 2 eps a yr 2 bng the showrunner 4 the whole series AND we hadn't had a full series 4 2 yrs so it was good, just not as good IMO BUT series 6 shud b gr8 now they've settled in

@kailover92 And frankly, I'm glad that there hasn't been an episode in Series 5 that was aas bad as the third part of this particular three-parter, which in my opinion ruined what had been a perfectly good story up to that point. And John Simm was miscast as the Master, if you ask me. Also, as much as I liked him at first, I was rather sick of Tennant by the time he left.

@bbqplatypus318 I have come 2 learn more than literally ANY fandom the Dr Who fandom has SO many differ varities and opinions, there literally no middle ground at all. I think thats how the show has survived tho, its changed and that inevitably brings about factions. I disagree with u on alot of points but man, we both love the show. Awesome scene! I think the Master & the Doctor should have had MANY MORE scenes together. I seriously think they had that opposite thing going on that would have attracted even more people, like the odd couple, they could have worked together & apart, You seriously seen the way they worked together in the end when Dr Who held him and begged him to Regenerate, that they could fight all over the universe, it was sad & perversely nice to offer that to him, a love/hate thing to avoid  being alone.

she's sort of mind controled/linked. you can see it, she plays the master's emotions that he doesnt show, she goes along for the ride. and when he has no interest in her at all she gets a dead look in her face. you can really see it in the 'here come the drums' sequence.

I loved the way Lucy drops her smile the moment the Master drops her hand. And, yes, the Doctor has a look on his face that says, "Only 352 days to go... only 351 days to go... only 350 friggin days to go..."

I'm still impressed by the fact that John Simm was able to push David Tennant around the room in the wheelchair with a full camera mount on the front and sing and grin at the same time! Just the pushing it would have been impressive, but acting while doing it... kudos, JS!
