I have a lot or hours in the EC-130 It has power, and a reasonable fuel load when fully loaded. However, this is not an innovative aircraft. The 130 is an EC- 350BA without the design, testing and vibration calculations that were accomplished on the 350. It is a shaking bag of crap. I have landed the aircraft on blacktop and saw the instrument panel vibrating so much you couldn't read the gages. We were always replacing gyro instruments because they were shaken apart. Give me a 350 any day.

Its sad that the American helo makers are just making rehashes of old helos instead of com ing up with new and inovative designs like Eurocopter.Those things are sexy...and well mad too.

@timmytyphoon how so? Eurocopter has fenestron. ok. but it's been around for quite a few years. Md has notar. Eurocopter's new "Quiet blade" is a rehashed tweaked Sikorsky design that's been on the b-hawk for years. Sikorsky's X2 is a much more sophisticated and efficient concept than euro's X3. no one's really all that far ahead of anyone else
