  • The snowbird have you checked when loves breaks down, cars and girls the sound of crying etcetc? Brilliant band.

  • I am only now discovering "Prefab Sprout".

  • Im glad I owned this album and enjoyed such fantastic music makes me glad I spent thousands on a hi fi.

  • I am always looking for Atlantis.........

  • Such a weird clip... It blows me out

  • Am i the only one who thinks that " Steve McQueen " is THE masterpiece of Prefab Sprout but the favorite album in heart is " Jordan : the comeback " ? Each time that i hear " Looking for Atlantis ", i think : i love that song ! simply. Why ? i don't know. Maybe because it is simply perfect. No one like Paddy Mcaloon made a so perfect marriage between sophisticated lyrics and a so stunning music. i hate the word "genius " but i think that i can call him : genius.

  • @99Matthias99 No mate, you,re not alone. Paddy is a genuis, and Steve McQueen has to be in the top 20 albums of all time.

  • @99Matthias99 You are not alone in thinking that, I put that album in my top 5 of all time

  • I mean it;s dam good song.Thinks.

  • What a grate song.

  • @mikes230

dontcha mean great. or does it grate on ya nerves......illiterate twat.

  • Everybody has his/her Atlantis: a faboulous and paradise emotional place where had should be happy for ever

  • Prefab Sprout and XTC are 2 bands that are hidden treasures who have cult loyal fans..if you've ever stumbled or only heard one of their songs...I strongly recommend that you check them out properly. For XTC start with Fossil Fuel - the Singles 1977 to 1982. For Prefab Sprout start with Alife of Surprises - the best of from 1992 and enjoy both (o;

  • wow! you and me both!

  • I have found their new album so brilliant. Genius Paddy

  • bought this in 1990..fantastic song

  • sorry bonnie lad; but to ask that question puts you beyond the .'pale' this is what used to be pop before it was girly singers with wobbly voices singing other peoples songs- enjoy a little real music

  • @xtcxtc123 must agree ,me man .proper songs with not a sniff of gayness about them . its a dying art..

  • @rangatang100

oi, mush. there's nothing wrong with gayness. I think, p'raps you might mean foreigness. Cos let's face it the Pet shop twats sound very italian.

  • what genre is this?

  • 'Pop' - pure and simple. An artform of melody and lyrics - short, sweet and emotional. A much undervalued genre as very few people have the raw talent to do it well. Check out Bacharach, Webb, Wilson, and their ilk. :)

  • nicely said, crimson.

  • Bang on the nail Crimson. "If I could go back" as sung by Andy Williams, who can match it?

  • 1990? Man this song is so great I thought I allready knew it in the early eighties.

  • greatest band in the world I love you

    Paddy

  • i post "the mystery of love" on youtube, hope the fans liked

  • HEY, Great news everyone! A sympathetic Prefab fan kindly posted "Ice Maiden" on YouTube soon after I'd made my plea listed below this comment. Please visit the song, listen for yourself and maybe leave a comment to help ensure Ice Maiden stays posted online.

Thanks a mill - Sean from Trinidad.

  • its the wedge haircut, i used to have one just like that, brings a tear to my eye :)

  • Great song!

Could someone please post THE ICE MAIDEN, a really great song that doesn't really get as much publicity as it deserves. Thanks.

    Sean from Trinidad.

  • wird Zeit für ein neues Album

  • KeinOhrHase <3<3!!

  • Holy shit! Early 90s memories!

  • J'adore leur style de musique, mélodique et aérienne !

  • Still sounds so great. Follow this up with Cars and Girls- Another classic

  • Who was I to think that after "Protest Songs" it couldn't get better...

  • who is playing harmonica in this song?

  • Paddy McAloon

  • Actually I'm pretty sure it's Andy Partridge.

  • Sorry- liner notes say "Judd Lander" for harmonica on this song.

  • Judd Lander played it on the record, but I've recently heard that the rather odd-looking individual in this video is non other than producer Thomas Dolby!

  • Thomas Dolby was behind that awesome sound. What I have heard he will produce the new 2009 Prefab Sprout cd out Sep 7..
