@KOGARASUMARU79 ever heard of an opinion? and I'm sorry but last time I checked a professional singer and VA singing in English(Which was pretty much every English VA that sang in that show) is better than a Japanese VA singing in broken English. whenever the Japanese sing it is almost impossible to tell what they were saying unless you had subtitles. That being said I still love the original.

@ermyop no his is a fake, bridge is too long, music man has short bridge, and his pick guard is single ply u can tell at the end of the video when the camera zooms into the pick guitar. music man only use triple ply. also the fret dots are extremely thick, music man uses smaller fret dots. his bass is a stingray copy by OLP. Cheap crap.

@josenet2006 yeh man OLP is crap, anything below 800 is pretty much crap. I used to gig alot around houston when i was back in high school and beginning of college, but now i'm just recording at home and concentrating on school now, too old to be gigging around anymore. Think about budget instruments is the nuances, tone, and impedance are all off, bottom notes are thicker than higher octaves etc etc. Its better to have an instrument that is well balanced and dry.

Yes and no.

My #1 bass is my beloved MM Stingray, with a John East preamp. But I still have a couple of OLPs, and no, they're not in the same league, but they're far from being crap. I had to change pickups on mine and I have installed SD preamps... I've gotten compliments about "my Stingray" when playing an OLP a couple of times. I can afford the Stingray and have other "not cheap" basses that I love, and it's great, but some cheap basses can be pretty damn good...

I hate to see guys, young or not, who can't afford an ideal instrument feeling that they can't aspire to play well because they don't have the cash.

I'll never forget as a kid, when I was complaining my guitar was crap, seeing a 10 year old gypsy boy play a beat up spanish guitar... he was AMAZING.

OLPs are not as nice as MM Stingrays. Not at all. But they work just fine!

@DavidSinRocks Thats because your stingay isn't a real musicman so your truss rod in the fretboard isn't expertly setup. Your bass is a copy made by OLP/sterling. Real musicman bass the bridge is short, yours is long. Also your Pick guard is a dead give away too, Musicman does not use single-ply pick guards you can see it is single ply at the end of the video at @:249. Maybe if you were on REAL bass guitar u wouldn't have problems.
