He's ALOT easier if you lance him i would recommend spiral lance.

@monkyking37 I just use Sword and Shield and he goes down easy enough. Using the Royal Ludroth Claw makes it a hell of a lot easier thanks to its water damage too.

@cammo353 i find lance pretty difficult to use, probably due to a full mhf2/mhfu with LS/Hammer ONLY, i think that i dosen't need to say that i'm grow up like a freaking evader XP.

When i use a SnS...well...i just forget that i actually have a SHIELD in my left hand!

Sadly i find lance very appealing and BEAUTIFUL to see X3, but isn't good for my style, i need to be free to move in any moment X)

@Floran57 For the record, negative affinity isn't all that bad. I mean, sure you do less damage sometimes, but more often than not, the good outweighs the bad on those weapons. Aside from that, a negative affinity strike has a high flinch infliction rate, whereas positive affinity has a lower one.

before it took 30 min to kill with a water lance (from R. Ludroth)

now i can kill it in 10-12 min with a fire hammer (peco flint)

5-8 min with a water hammer (r. ludroth hammer)

but when i got it, it has -5 affinity on your weapon

and if you use the armor that has more elemental defense it looks lame and has bad phys defense

i regret working so hard to get full barroth

its just i dont like the negative affinity

but i recently found out full barroth is AMAZING for hammer users

your stamina depletion is slowed down so much

oh and the right weapon for the right job, i have two hammers a fire hammer for wyverns and a water hammer for the upcomming agnaktor battle

@Florjan57 nice :)..I use the Flint hammer while hunting. Kick the crap outta Royal Ludroths, Qururpeco's and Great Jaggi. Dispose of them as quick as possible

The Barroth's weakest point is his small forearms. When covered in mud, it is weakest to Water, but when the mud has been removed, it is weakest to Fire.

Too bad (I assume this is true in game) that I see two opportunities to attack; when Boulblos plays in the mud and when it shakes the excess mud off (its backside does not seem to get hit by those mud balls). Perhaps Boulblos' weakness is Fire?
