As an Army Infantrymen who has served two tours in both Afghanistan and Iraq I can honestly say I am man enough to admit that this song brings a tear to my eyes every time I hear it. Every friend I have buried has had this song played for them.

He was a good man in a place he didn't have to be.He went with us because we were his soldiers and if we went he did to.He could have retired and not gone. He was a man worth of honour. we all cried when the field service was done. My uncle was killed in Afghanistan a week after his twin boys were born. He was deployed to come back for two weeks to watch their birth, and three days after he got back he was shot in the stomach. I'll forever miss him and remember him, and every time I look into the eyes of my cousins, I'll see his eyes. He died defending his men and our country. I'm so proud of him. Whenever I hear this song, I know he's with me.

I cannot thank these people enough. They've given up everything just to fight for people they don't even know. Its amazing. Their truly brave heroes. I can't think of anyone better than these people. They give their all everyday. For us. They don't give up, ever. No matter what happens these people keep going. They keep re enlisting just to help us. Hi everyone I just got back from Afghanistan 6 months ago and a year before that I was in iraq, I have taken two bullet wounds, and have suffered really bad PTSD, I will not forget all the friends I have lost in this war But I also will not let them be forgetten. I have to say my husband was gone overseas with the army and we were expecting our baby girl and this song, I just couldn't listen to it. Now though that my husband is safe and home. I constanty think of all the other soldiers over there of friends and family and remember the way I felt the first time hearing this song and know they are there. I always know we need to pray for the men and women over there but also for their families.

in loving memory of first sgt Henry J Sanders who gave his life in the first gulf war.
He was a good man in a place he didn't have to be.He went with us because we were his soldiers and if we went he did to.He could have retired and not gone. He was a man worth of honour. we all cried when the field service was done. He was a man with a family that loved his country and soldiers as well. his wife met us when we got back and hugged us all. bless you top and keep watch on your men.

I just want to say thanks to all of you soldiers out there fighting for us, risking your lives, thank you again i will say ! we ALLL appreciate it. I have 2 very close people to me that are in the army, & i pray every night that they will come home safe <3 When youre saying goodbye you cry and cry inside, it is one of the hardest things ive had to do yet. & i hope and pray to god that they will come home safe and sound. GOD BLESS THE SOLDIERS AND THERE FAMILYS. BRING THEM HOME SAFE AND SOUND.

My uncle was killed in Afghanistan a week after his twin boys were born. He was deployed to come back for two weeks to watch their birth, and three days after he got back he was shot in the stomach. I'll forever miss him and remember him, and every time I look into the eyes of my cousins, I'll see his eyes. He died defending his men and our country. I'm so proud of him. Whenever I hear this song, I know he's with me.

I cannot thank these people enough. They've given up everything just to fight for people they don't even know. Its amazing. Their truly brave heroes. I can't think of anyone better than these people. They give their all everyday. For us. They don't give up, ever. No matter what happens these people keep going. They keep re enlisting just to help us. We should all honor and pray for these people everyday for everything they do. Thank you to those brave people who keep going everyday for us! <3

My dad played this to me before he left for Iraq the first time and said he wanted this played at his funeral. Now everytime I hear it, it makes me cry. Considering he's on his second tour to Iraq right now

My mom told me when i was young that she almost joined the army and i didn't think much of it then. But now that i'm older i realize that she could have died so easily there and i have come to see all the men and woman of the armed forces with a new respect. i can't express how scared i was when i finally knew what could have happened to her; so i give thanks to all the people who risk their lives, so we can live ours better. Hi everyone I just got back from Afghanistan 6 months ago and a year before that I was in iraq, I have taken two bullet wounds, and have suffered really bad PTSD, I will not forget all the friends I have lost in this war But I also will not let them be forgetten. I have to say my husband was gone overseas with the army and we were expecting our baby girl and this song, I just couldn't listen to it. Now though that my husband is safe and home. I constanty think of all the other soldiers over there of friends and family and remember the way I felt the first time hearing this song and know they are there. I always know we need to pray for the men and women over there but also for their families.

This is the first time that I have been able to make it all the way through this song. I have been back from Iraq since Jan2006 and haven't been able to handle this song due to all of the friends that I have lost over there. my buddy Justin is a 1st class Private in the U.S. Army, and all of us at school are praying he comes home safe. Hopefully we won't have to display a folded flag at school, but if we do, we will do so knowing that wer were friends with an everyday hero

For all those who have experience lost, i greeve with you. For those who have waited and salvished safe return, i rejoyce with you. But for a person like me who lives far away from all the war and all the fighting. There is no way i cant comprehend any of this. I heard this song and i cried. I have not lost a brother, nor a father nor a love one to all this senceless fighting. And yet i cried. Tim McGrawl is blessed by God to make this song and I am blessed to hear it.
