SO BUDDHA LEFT HIS WIFE FOR HIS IMPOTECY AND COWEREDLY LEFT LITTLE CHILD RAHUL WITH HIS BEAUTIFUL WIFE.i KNOW UR NOT BUDDHIST BUT A MISSIONARY.SO LET COME TO ME AND FUCKED UR FILTHY HEAD.AND i CLOSED UR OPEN SOURCE.
Shiva removes the ignorance and impurity of the worlds opening it to the new cycles. Shiva, Brahma, Vishnu are like the Lords of the Gods. The Hindu Gods from Mount Mandara are personifications of Universal essences...Divinity.
Indra is the king of the Gods and God of Lightning and the heavens.
The female Goddess are most powerful- life giver and takers Uma=Dawn Kali=Evil devourer Durga=War Goddess Saraswati education Parvati Wealth.
Male God Kama is passionate love just like Eros....bow/arrow
Interesting since I do not know much about Hinduism, however it seemed that the ideas presented here about Hellenic (Greek) gods is vaguer than reality. For example Apollo rules over the domain of light in general, and his name means destroyer (in that he is the destroyer of darkness and illness) and yet because light is a principle which brings about order he is the god who orders the procession of seasons and musician, and is the keeper of logos (by which he is also a god of oracles).
I thought this was interesting, but as a Hindu, I know that rama and Krishna are not gods- they are vishnu in human incarnations. Compare them to, say, Perseus or Theseus, or Jason of the ancient Greek myths. Also, Kali and durga are one and the same, with Kali being Durga's bad side. Together, they/she represents power, especially female power.
@Frenchhorn211 Good insight Frenchhorn, I think comparing Rama with Odysseus might also be apt...you are right they are not gods in a sense, but Krishna and Rama perform vast miracles not possible for the Greek human heroes. Maybe they are "in-between" god and man?
@opensourcebuddhism Maybe we should be consider them daemons (not in the christian way of course). Daemon is an entity that knows (δαήμων - daemon), if we translate it from ancient greek. Plato and his disciples (till the late neoplatonic tradition) reveal a lot of interesting notions about these intermediate entities. Take care.
@opensourcebuddhism Both Rama and Krishna where avatars of the god Vishnu. That means that they where both incarnations of Vishnu. Here is a quote from by Krishna from the Bhagavad Gita
"Whenever righteousness wanes and unrighteousness increases I send myself forth. For the protection of the good and for the destruction of evil,

This is a very good video, but I found many errors in the hinduism section
Like Shiva, is not the god of destruction of GOOD. In fact, he destroys evil
Shiva,Vishnu, and Brahama- they are equal they are the only gods higher than Indra. Indra is the King of gods, the heavans and the rain
