this is very informative but it should be said that if a person actually has hasimoto's (most common cause of hypothyroidism) they should probably not be taking kelp (iodine) because that triggers an attack & could make matters worse. (stop eating gluten!)... if you have hypothyroidism ask for these antibody tests. (TGB & TPO)
So if I have a normal body temperature and normal levels of thyroid hormones, I still need to buy your pills. If not, then, I still need to buy pills, anyone would think you were in it just for the money. I'll watch out for "fluorine in its heavy metal state" - I'll have to do some alchemy revision on how non-metallic elements transform into metallic ones. I'll have to go now the cauldron is boiling over.
Dr., My avg temp is 97.6. I am taking armour thyroid (for over a year now) and take 2 capsules a day (45 mg) per capsule. My hair is still falling out, dry skin, gluten intolerant, etc. Any suggestions?
wow, i didnt know alot of this stuff, i take levothroxine and i still feel so tired all the time i get bad headaches i cant lose weight and i am so frusterated, my dr keeps telling me my thyroid levels are fine and theres nothing they can do....
How does this compare with Thyromine which I am currently taking but can only take a half a pill or I get major headaches. My blood tests showed I have hypothyroidism pretty bad and I come from a family history of it on both sides. I've tried many different medications including armour and they don't work and in fact, they make my health worse. This has been a battle over many years.... :(
I am not sure why thyroid medications do not work for you.... Our supplement contains no thyroid hormone but offers nutritional support to help the thyroid function beeter as well as help the bodyto better absorb thyroid hormone taken by mouth.
And I've always been a relatively solid meat eater, so no low iron/ferritin levels I'm pretty certain of. No low B12 levels, even though my doctor gave me a 1mg B12 supplement. No stress in my life ever. I just finished up grad school. Never really stressed in my life. Much less no chronic stress. I sleep plenty each night. Pretty certain no adrenal fatigue. I did notice that since starting Nature-Throid, I've had more energy running and I've gone to sleep earlier and woken up earlier.
thy-rox is still recommended ? Also, something interesting or maybe coincidence. My local government has introduced flouride into the water supply over the last 6 months.. I have been feeling gradually worse ever since..
You have to check with your physician regarding Hashimotos. Flouride has been proven to reduce Thyroid function in many people. You should consider filtering your water.
i had my thyroid removed 5 yrs ago and could not take the synthic drugs-hair loss and tired all the time-now i can not find armor anymore- is the FDA responsible for this? if so what can we do about the FDA
I am now on T3 only meds, as T4 left me in a constant state of toxicity, I felt poisoned the whole time I was on Levothyroxine,
I then gave Armour only,a shot, an improvement but every time I reached a therapeutic dose the T4 would build up, up from the Armour, first week good, then the T4 would build up and I would hit a wall. I have myxedema in my whole body, face is very painful.Hashimoto's is ruining my life, I am a 34yr old man, how long does it take on meds to clear myxedema? Please reply Dr.
The condition responds differently in different people. Since you have an autoimmune condition, it should be closely monitored by a physician that specilized in autoimmunity and its effects on the body. You questions should be addressed to such a medical professional. Thank you.
I have hypothyroidism caused by heavy, heavy soy consumption over nine months. I have been experiencing cognitive dysfunction in the form of stumbling over words and loss of fluidity when speaking. If I take Armour, how soon before I see results? I would call but I'm overseas!
If anybody here has an endo appointment soon, I was wondering if you could throw in a question for me. I used to drink A LOT of soymilk -- two cartons a day. Can you ask the endo if cognitive dysfunction affecting speech can be caused by too much soy (whose isoflavones can adversely affect the thyroid with not enough iodine in the diet)? I'd appreciate it so much! Thanks in advance.
Excess soy protein can interfere with thyroid function, especially if you are taking synthetic thyroid medications as soy can prevent the absorption of the thyroid hormone. We suggest using pure Whey Protein, which has a better amino acid ratio. You can view the formula we use at our website.
I was checked back in november for lupus and hepatitis and cooper elevation due to my alt and ast being elevated had liver sonogram done showed sludge in gallbladder so went in for futher testing.
So far as long as not having N/V or Abd pain they aren't going to do anything about the gallbladder. I have had all the classic systoms of thyroid probs but one thing that has really concorned me around the same time i found out i need to take thyroid medicine my forehead and around my hairline
Really? Wow! I think, I might have a thyroid problem because, my neck bothers me from time to time, right around or, just below my adam's apple! Plus..., it seems like my hairline is moving back, a little, around the corners. Are those symptoms of a thyroid problem, also?
Well since i started taking the med i have felt some better but still not too the full of effect of what i thought and the TSH came back WNL. I have recently started on weightloss journey and have lost 20 pounds since jan 2,2009. see my videos about my weightloss and anywho recently had lab followup and was informed today my t3 was very low.
I ask my FNP about Armour and she called in Rx for it
Alot of people in my family have throid issues, and taking the hormone doesn't always repair the damage to your thyroid, so you still have symptoms. Sometimes you have a thyroid resistance. Just let the doc know, and keep taking your medicine as long as you don't have overactive symptoms.
Fluoride seems to be only toxic in really high quantities. I don't drink tap water, but do they use fluorine or chlorine in tap water? I know chlorine is used in pools.
If chlorine is a goitrogen, how come it's found naturally in sodium chloride as well as other plants?
If fluoride is a goitrogen, how come it's found naturally in like sea vegetables and green tea? Also, if I cut out the soy I've been consuming for the last eight months how long should it take to get over this brain fog/cognitive dysfunction?
What doctors fail to tell thyroid patients is sometimes people don't get their full function back. It could also be a resistance to thyroid hormone. Sometimes all the hormone does is just keep you alive. If you ever get overactive symptoms when you take too much, you know it's at least keeping your heart going when it's at the right dosage. Just keep trying to find answers and be willing to try new medicines, something may help. Some people find that Armour or cytomel works better for them.
I'm not in the US right now but rather a Third World country for another month, but this problem I'm having with my oratory skills/speaking is killin' me (figurtively). Hello Dr. i have a big problem with thyroid for more than8 or9 years i been losing my theeth (10)ps and i am 40 years old my hair my weith......Please give me an answer Thank You.............................
I would like to know if, breathing in too much gas fumes from a leaking gas line in a car can disturb your thyroid? Also..., sometimes, I feel an uneasiness in my neck(around the Adam's Apple)but, when I give it a little sqeeze..., I feel a noticable relief. Is that a sign of a Thyroid problem? An ans. would definitely be appreciated!
Severe toxicity can cause a wide variety of potential problems. The first thing you should do is have your thyroid tested by a medical doctor to determine if thyroid hormone is necessary. Depending on the outcome of the test, feel free to contact me at 1-888-454-8464 to discuss natural support programs for the thyroid gland.
I have a friend who is in her 30's, she was diagnosed with MS 15 years ago or so, although recently she was told it isn't MS... But some unknown immune system illness. Im curious about one thing, her mother has Graves disease, and had her thyroid removed, yet my friend has been told her thyroid has no problems. I think her MS diagnosis is complete bunk,
I believe a thyroid condition is what is up. What lab tests can I have done for her myself to find out?
I learned about this from someone in my Asperger's support group. Autistic people often have hypothyroid. You may notice that a lot of Autistic or retarded people are very heavy and sluggish. The two may come hand-in-hand.
Its so amazing how many problems hypothyroid can cause. I never really realized all my problems related to this. I just had crappy doctors that didn't care about me until now and they figured out i had this problem. Thanks for the info on all this, I needed to know what I could do.
Flouride in toothpaste and mouthwash is the best delivery for this mineral. It is NOT a good idea tod rink fluoridated water as this goes into the internal system of the body and can build up, becoming toxic. If you want extra flouride protection consider using a mouthwash that provides extra protection.
Fluoride dose not prevent cavities for your information. Fluoride's effect if any positive is on the surface enamel of the tooth and not on the crevices of the teeth where cavities happen- You can use dental sealants to fill those crevices and
that works- Just get a sealant with out BPA or fluoride in it. And if you have mercury fillings get them out and get fillings with no fluoride or BPA in them

Dr. whiting, the thyrox sounds great, but the informational sheet says to check with your healthcare practitioner if you have hashimoto's. is this because of the iodine or something else in the product.
Hi Dr Whiting, I have been using the Thyrox formula for more than 2 weeks now and I can't believe how much different I feel. It is amazing. I am on thyroid meds and I feel well enough and strong enough with the Thyrox to do some of the things I need to do, like lose weight and exercise more. I am now up to 3 miles a day and last week, lost 4 pounds!!! Before that, the weight wouldn't come off no matter what I ate or how much I exercised. It's amazing stuff.
