who ever made this show is awesome! They made these tiny creatures like family! So amazing and action and made them like people! I watch this everyday and i got the dvd and kept watching it til season 4 ended:( best show ever to be on animal planet!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'd never heard of this "Story Begins" until only weeks ago when it aired again the day before Thanksgiving. Now I have (the point I started recording, forward) on my DVR still, and I'm actually watching it just for noise while I try and read a script for my class. Anyway, I am just absolutely in love with the music that goes with this and I was wondering if someone knows how I can buy/download it. I didn't find any Meerkat Manor soundtracks on iTunes, whatsoever. Can someone help?

These are wild animals who are being filmed in thier natural environment and life. In life animals starve, suffer, and die. It happens to them, it happens to humans as well. You don't interviene when an animal is dying if you're going to maintain the natural state of the creature. If an animal is poisoned, but survives on it's own, it has becomes stronger. If you give it medicine and re-release it, it is still weak. Then it may go on to reproduce. That is not natural selection anymore.

Of COURSE the scientists documenting these animals care about them and are sad to see them die. But that is thier JOB, they are not bad people. They know what they are agreeing to when they begin documenting the animals. These meerkats are NOT PETS. If you want to worry about animals being treated cruely why don't you look into "human rights". We're animals as well. Nothing you say or do will stop these scientists from maintaining natural order, mostly because it's the RIGHT thing to do.

its a nice film as far as tributes go, i didnt think much of goldbergs narration tho and they changed the true story extensivly from what is in the book and left out so many characters..

Many IO Cable customers can no longer watch this great channel and other Discovery channels because of a sudden change in digital only transmission policy.

IO is saying Discovery is to blame--hard to believe they would voluntarily hack at their own ratings...

Why can't IO continue to transmit the content on the channel instead of a blue screen saying "GET A BOX!" it's absurd..
