  • How To Make It In America brought me here..

  • i want the whole world to listen to this, seriously, music like this NEEDS to be heard by more people. it's amazing

  • when people get hyped on hearing a song with a low amount of views they feel like they found a hidden jem, they feel good when they discover it, because they have gotten really lucky. you guys are confusing that good feeling for being a hipster duche bag which they really arnt

  • @shnaazy AMEN SIR....

  • Fuck you all, this is real music. WITH SOUL. And I don't give a fuck who listens to it as long as I can listen to it too.

  • shazam send me here....

  • anyone else think of elephants when they hear this song?

  • @NJHater no, but now i will. elephants and rod stewart. ha. lol.

  • I think the real hipsters are the hipsters who think that the hipsters are hipsters.

  • this is the picture is me., going shopping in the morning :D

  • I can relate so much to this music... Beyond of what my words can explain.

  • Music reminds me of OMD when they started out, great tune.

  • My shit

  • Ahhh I love when I find new artists like these. Great band.

  • so good.

  • GOD DAMN HIPSTERS, SAVE YOUR DUMB ASS COMMENTS FOR YOUR TUMBLR. shut up and listen to the groovves plzz.

  • Stop Faffing over the scene or whatever and listen /criticize the music damn it.

  • Comment removed

  • @Broax

That is possibly the truest statement on youtube

  • Rod Stewart - Young Turks

  • this band is great. wtf how are they so unrecognized.

  • @justschm Because they come from Greenville, NC. These are the hardest working most genuine musicians i've ever had the pleasure of going to school with.....and i sold them a drum machine.

  • I keep listening to this song over and over :D

  • with that being said though, this music is exquisite

  • To me, a hipster is one who sits in front of the local coffeeshop talking with their other "hipster" friends about what they're learning in their college courses and what their liberal professors have shoved down their throats. How theres so many problems in America, like the environment going down the gutter as they sit there drinking coffee out of a styrofoam cup that is terrible for the planet instead of going out and actually doing something. talking the talk instead of walking the walk.

  • @chronicconja420 loved the bit about the liberal professors. I'm only in first year and I know exactly what you mean. From an intelligent point of view (not necessarily mine) I think it's important to question peoples ideas that get thrown at you. especially with global warming, everyone is on that bandwagon and they don't know what the hell is going on. Questioning things doesn't make you wrong it makes you smarter.

  • @chronicconja420 spoken like a true hipster

  • @P6O6E6T

haha or a conservative environmentalist 17 year old working on a farm and seeing things for how they really are and making sense of it as opposed to being told what to think like one who is actually a hipster. Hipsters are temporary, and only think the way they do because it's "hip", not because it's right

  • @chronicconja420 your comment reaks of hipsterness too

  • The Synths... Oh The Synths...

  • Youtube comments make my dick soft.

  • @RapidianShitshow Don't cha just hate it when that happens?

  • @RapidianShitshow i literally just laughed my arse off and spit went all over my screen. Thank you so much for that...

  • Laneway Festival should get onto these guys. Would be fuckin awesome.

  • AMAZING..!!!

  • Take less time worrying about who is listening to these songs and enjoy them. Life's too short kiddeauz.

  • death to all hipsters.

  • @MzChelxoxo how do we define"hipster" today, anybody can throw on some big glasses tight pants and call themselves a hipster. how about we shut up and enjoy the music?

  • @TheVampireFeed yep.

  • Its hipster to say you don't like hipsters

  • @AbeBehr12 no they're just really fucking annoying.

  • @AbeBehr12 Thats so true. The "hipster" haters are becoming "hipsters" themselves. I think if its a "hipster" thing to say stay true to your artistry then I think its "hipster" to say sell out to the mainstream just cuz they assume thats what the band wants.

  • i literally just stumbled across this band. none of this hipster nonsense. this song speaks to me in nice ways :D

  • I never really understood this whole 'hipster' mindset.. The whole purpose of music is to get widespread so that the artist work can touch as many lives as possible. If the artist remains unknown so you can selfishly proclaim yourself as an artistic compass then (1) the artist will have to stop making his art and doing something else so he can get food on the table (2) the world will be a poorer place! I wish that everyone could listen to good music so we could stop having all these biebers..

  • @Broax I totally agree. Once you free yourselves from the mass market brainwashing there is a lot of great music out there.

  • @Broax I think the idea is to create an art that builds and nurtures a fanbase. It's about cultivating, changing and enriching - not producing the same old shit and appeasing the appetite and perpetuating the status quo.

  • @Broax You don't seem not to the 'hipster' mindset... people who chose not to listen to mainstream music because most artists get to their position by "selling out" or giving into an alternative way of making it BIG. Actually being 'hipster' is more of a fashion statement rather than a mindset, but more often then not, the clothing comes with the attitude. Anyways, artists who can make it BIG without "selling out" are respected much more than the biebers of the world. Now listen to the music.

  • @Broax This was my first +1 ever on Youtube.

  • this song's pretty great

  • I'm really happy things are going well for these guys. I've seen them a few times and they're great.

  • I so needed to hear this today :)

  • uplifting!!! :)

  • I hung out the with lead singer after a Dan Deacon concert. He's amazingly chill.

  • that's why Fantano is a great person!

  • shit makes me happy, ima play this after every failed date

  • They're alright, I guess. Not really my flavor, but I wouldn't mind hearing them on the radio just because it's different.

  • I feel bad because I didn't know this band until Anthony Fantano introduced them to me.

I don't think fame will destroy a band's music, unless they are signed to a pushy greedy major record label.

  • can't wait for it to be out :))

  • F you hipsters , the world needs to know about these guys

  • why doesn't this have 1,000,000,000+ views?

  • Damn, walking down the street in the night listening to this song makes me just feel like a badass mofucka

  • music for not being able to remember the last time i was sober

  • Not as good as the last album... WAAAIT AND SEE....

  • saw them live twice in the past two months. their fucking epic!

  • Heard it on the HTMIIA mixtape and I love it, it really gives me a New York feel. "Dream big or go home"

  • @Microphonechecka2 baltimore

  • HOW TO MAKE IT IN AMERICA

  • @merks91 TRUE THAT!

  • @merks91

Wow. Fame destroyed a lot of music. You do know this right?

  • @Case86 For example: Muse, Beach House, Fleet Foxes, Lykke Li, must the list go on? Once they get signed to Sub Pop and Urban Outfitters sells out their music, they forget what made their music amazing at the start.

  • @yakobemil fleet foxes havn't lost themselves, lykke li has improved since her breathy crap, pond is eargasmic and are getting more attention, foals, ect. I don't beleive in the hipster crap to keep an artist unknown. Other than their semi-sarcastic remark of ''world domination'' I say they let artists evolve.

  • @cocobunny2121 Artists can evolve. I have nothing against that. But here's when opinions come into play, I guess. I hated Lykke Li's new album. It wasn't as raw. Foals are still good. I think I'll always love them. So, your idea of improvement, may be my idea of a degredation in their sound. I just like it more when they're experimenting still and don't really know what they like.

  • @Case86 well then there's more music where that came from. either way... death to hipsters.

  • @merks91 I just want to make it in America.

  • @merks91 Thank god someone actually has sense these days... being an artist myself, the worst thing you want is for people who like your music to NOT spread it around, especially for dumb reasons like being "cool" by knowing about you before others, it's complete BS if you ask me

  • @merks91 thanks man for that....not enough people feel that way

  • @merks91 'i on the other hand' is such a hipster thing to say.

  • @merks91 Hipster music will be mainstream soon enough.

  • @cr4ckb4by eventually. ex. toro y moi.

  • under 15,000 veiws... just teh way i like it :p

  • @mtodafoulds Same I hope people don't find out about this amazing song and people like buy his album and he starts doing bigger shows and stuff that would be so lame lol

  • @Pud09 ugh

  • @Pud09 i know right and i hope his music never gets heard because that's his point in making music so only stinky hipsters will hear it.............not. death to hipsters.

  • @mtodafoulds fuck you hipster scum

  • @mtodafoulds too bad hipster. and take a bath too i can smell your hippieness.

  • Gorgeousness Thanks for this temptation ...

  • Thank you Alan Ashby.

  • perfect. perfect in every respect. changed my whole day.
