@TheAjdam lay and pray, as you call it, is part of fighting. as a wrestler going to a decision, you have to fight your opponent's stand up abilities and takedown defense, then you have to secure side control or pass the guard, once in mount or side control you gotta have BASE, then you have to be active and stood up, and you have to deal with sweeps and rubber guard and subs and stand up attempts. while that's not the most exiting thing in the world, being able to neutralize a guy is a skill.
