My gran lived in Castlemilk (Machrie Road?), visited over the years from Canada and went to Braeside for a short while before we moved back to Canada in the early 60's .... great memories....sad to see it's all gone now.
@squelchybelchy aye I have been in Castlemilk many a time. I know the bits you mention. They redeveloped allot of Castlemilk these days but its still got bits that are unchanged.
Many thanks for this. I was born in Glenacre Quad in Castlemilk, and the shops at 1.47 were our local shops. The pic was obviously taken many years later. This conjures up happy memories. Hugs..Jan (and Susan) ♥
@weeyin1155 WOW!!! yeah I know Glenacre quite well. I used to live on Castlemilk drive along time ago. And my mate stayed in Dougrie Street. I was in Castlemilk a few weeks ago and thought I would make avid of it.
Might take my camera up next time. Thanks allot :)
That would be great. I was born in No10 Glenace Quad and used to walk up the lane facing us to Castleton Primary. I sayed there until I was 11 in 1967. Sadly, it's all gone now, but I have a brother and an uncle in Castlemilk. Have a great Christmas. ☺
