  • Captain!

  • Can i get to America with the turks?

  • @ekmekarasipide Yes you can. The naval ship you need to reach America is the, "Baghlah."

  • @GDXTom

    thanks bro :-)

  • @GDXTom Has anyone ever seen an AI faction take americas settlements. or even travel there. i usually edit the descr.strat so america is conquerable fairly early on.

  • @CallOfDutyAustralia Nope I have never seen an ai faction attack America. I think someday in the future I will test this, with cheats, by dominating only the lands in America while giving another ai faction a bunch of money, hoping they'll invade America.

  • @GDXTom i only ever go to america for the merchant resources. on another note. ive had the tirmuids and mongols invade europe like turn 20. and never seen them attack somewhere via Naval incersion. have you? they build fleets but dont do anything. compared to sicily and portugal attack 24/7 via navy

  • @CallOfDutyAustralia Hmm I never encountered any Mongols and the Timurid with naval forces. I think the Timurid and the Mongols can only build the "Dhow," which is basically a trading vessel and somewhat a weak ship of the Muslim/Islam factions. I assume they don't invade with naval forces because any naval forces can basically destroy the Mongols & and the Timurid's naval easily. Though, maybe the Mongol/Timurid may launch a naval invasion if they are large and want to attack islands.

  • @GDXTom when i have them both invade inside first 20 turns by turn 100 they have half of europe between them which makes it a good challange :D so i usually hide on the islands or england. havent seen them invade or even come looking yet. :D

  • how the hell can you play all factions? i can only play england, france, venice, spain and germany.

  • @arthasmetalhatethil Please check my description for a youtube link under "How to unlock all factions: "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all factions "" - Other than that, when you beat the campaign with one of the available factions, you can unlock the rest of the "unlockable" factions. Or, you can unlock them immediately by editing a Medieval 2 script by checking the youtube video.

  • @arthasmetalhatethil

with cheats my friend. I can also play with all factions :-)

  • @ekmekarasipide what cheats?

  • LOL Aztecs they already are in america :P

  • @sporejetmir123 and they dont go quietly either.

  • alguem pode me ajudar, quando minhas unidades acertam a misseis de fogo nos inimigos eles começam a queimar mas quando morrem nao aparecem queimados,se alguem souber como resolver

  • Which faction is the best ?? Which one you suggest I take ?

  • @TheSuperieur Hmm, based on my opinion/thought, do not choose any factions at the East [Such as Russia, Egypt, Turk, and the Byzantium Empire], because they are going to be attacked by the Mongols and the Timurid. I suggest Spain, England, Portugal or Moor. I also heard that Venice is a good heavy infantry faction + in the video I allied with the Papal State to maintain strong Christian power/support with the Pope. I usually play England or Spain though.

  • you should make a vid using the spanish discovering the new world like in real life or history using as Admiral or General Cristobal Colon traveling with 3 carracks

  • i think the moment that you can go to the america's or gunpowder depends on which nation you are. example Spain can go earlier on to america than russia

  • oo nice, i never thought Venice could EVER get to the Americas. Well, in my game, I destroyed Venice in the 43rd turn

  • I love thisgame

  • nice videos

  • Why i can just start with this Armys , England, France, Roman Empire Spain Portugal? Why i can not start with scottland or Egypt or other countrys? i mean in Grand Camping

  • @DjHardDriver To unlock the other factions such as Scotland etc, you either have to beat one of the available faction for the first time, or if you want to get them quickly, check my description for a link called "How to unlock all factions: "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all factions "

  • Yes!!!! Turn 107 I got it!!!!!!!!!

  • lol a crusade on the hungarians.

  • Nevermind that was in test cases. Ok mine says 210 220 so I guess I will be getting it soon. I modded mine so the end date was 6000 instead of modding the timescale because that moves back all of the events. So thanks for you help a lot!!! I really appreciate it and I will subscribe if I haven't already

  • @Mrhahahahatim Lol no problem and you don't need to subscribe, but go ahead. I'm planning on uploading a newer version of this video once I gather enough & better information, a video on how to edit the events/timescale/dates like what I just told you, and if I happen to get myself a decent-better gaming computer (since my laptop is being more outdated), hopefully I'll post more videos, but I'm expecting these to happen on summer to 2014, so no videos for awhile. Again np ty.

  • Ok I think the problem is there is no date there. It just says in the date line 2 4, not 200-220 or whatever

  • Ok I know I asked u before but I started a new campaign and it is turn 100 and no gunpowder WTF?!

  • @Mrhahahahatim Hmm I guess you want to investigate this further? I told some users that now Idk how the event system work because people are basically getting events... say gunpowder, on turn 30, 80, 100, etc, so let check your medieval 2 files. #1) Open descr_strat - If you don't know how, look at the link in my description: "How to unlock all Medieval 2 factions". The timescale should be 2.00. #2) In the same folder, there is a file called, descr_events. Read second comment.

  • @Mrhahahahatim [2]Once you open "descr_events," look for "gunpowder_discovered" under "EVENT LIST" [because the first one is under Test Cases]. Can you tell me the numbers? Next to "date," mine said 210 220, but tell me yours. I think it should be 210 220. Now, the problem is, if the timescale is 2.0, that mean its 1 turn per 2 turns. If time scale is 5.0, its 1 turn per 5 years. PLEASE read next comment!!!

  • @Mrhahahahatim [3]Since its 1 turn per 2 years, 210 220 means I should get the gunpowder event on 105-110 turn, but I get it early. Why? Well, generals age every 4 years? I believe you will need to look at the year! Somewhere in Medieval 2 you can check the year, and the gunpowder should be discovered between 1200s or 1300s, mostly 1240. If you do discover between the two years, do tell me so that I will edit the description!!! If not, I'll check later.

  • 5:43 WTF????

  • @ilijazunic55 My laptop's mic was on and I didn't disabled mic/audio on fraps during that time.

  • @GDXTom ok

  • how do you select a group of troops of a castle and send it to a ship?? i have to click one by one to send them to the ship. can you explain me please?

  • @frrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrda Shift click the unit cards. To explain this easily > Let say you have 5 unit cards in your castle's army inventory. Shift + left click from the first card to the last card, and all these 5 unit cards will be highlighted, so you can move them to the ship. In the video > 3:18 , I shift click the general to the last unit card and move them all into the ship. If you know/did this already, I think some of your units already moved (not enough moving space).

  • @GDXTom thanks bud you helped me a lot !! it's a like for you ;)

  • Comment removed

  • No one knew this? Even historians traced my ANCESTERS to something.

Medieval times going to amerika by the way. Right after the Crusades kinda?

They already were in the HOLY LAND and found what they needed. Guess what they found at King Solomons Temple? PROOF of something or they always knew with "AGENTS" all over the world, agents who stuided CULTUREs which is usually Monks or Priest types.

  • the mongols appear in the same turn as you, but the discovery of gunpowder appears to me with all factions always on turn 106, the version I have is 1.3. What I can do to make this event appears on turn 86 as you?

    Thanks.

  • @MrCacabat [1] All I can say is I'm not sure :( . If I'm really free I'll test factions in two/three different versions later on. However, I did a quick search and find that you can modify a script to make certain events sooner or later. Google search "How to make certain events happen sooner in Medieval 2?" (without the " ) & the forum/link should be shoguntotalwar.yuku.

  • @MrCacabat [2] The user said that you have to modify a file. "event historic gunpowder_discovered date 160 170." Since a turn should equal to 2 years, 160 = 80 turns and 170 = 85 turns, so it should be around 80-85 turns or somewhere near. Check descr_strat to make sure your timescale is 2.00. If it is "160 170" and the timescale is 2.00, then my assumption is that there are delays in the script/triggers.

  • how did you unlock the papal states?

  • @DJGimpmeister In my description, click the link under "How to unlock all factions: "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all factions ""

  • it says at the start of my game Faction Destroyed Aztecs

  • @eadie213 yep you cannot play as the Aztecs, Mongols, and Timurid, because they became defeated at the start of the campaign. You will need to find mods to play them, or the American Campaign.

  • Atleast what i did lol

  • 1:04 5-8 turns later alliance with mongols lol

  • Haha, A while back soon after the game first came out i discovered them by accident :D. I was playing Moors, (I killed them in my first game) and I had conquered Spain, Portugal, and France. I was heading toward England with my Carracks... (haven't played in a while might of got the name wrong) and I got the idea. "you know I wonder what happens when i go out there....I met the Aztecs :D.

  • how did you get scotland in there?? all i can play is england france and a couple others :[

  • @mouthforwar17 You will have to play one of the available factions and beat the game [victory condition] to unlock Scotland + more factions. If you want to play Scotland as soon as possible, checked the description for a youtube video link under "How to unlock all factions," or youtube search "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all factions." Same video by the way; you will just need to edit a Medieval 2 script.

  • @GDXTom ok when i do that. it says im not allowed to make changes to that file..what do i do then?

  • @mouthforwar17 Right click "descr_strat" and click properties, and then make sure that "Read-only" is unchecked/Not check (If checked, just go and uncheck it). Go ahead and reply if that doesn't work.

  • @GDXTom ok when i try to save "descr_strat" after ive made changes then i go to save it and it says access denied

  • @mouthforwar17 ok I think this is a UAC (User Account Contro)/System power problem where it prevent any files from being modified inside your hard drive. Try dragging "descr_strat" to the desktop, edit it, and then put it back to the same folder.

  • @GDXTom that worked!!! thanks very much!

  • @mouthforwar17 win the game and you will have them all...

  • @mouthforwar17 finish a campaign or go to \medieval 2 total war\data\world\campaign\grand campaign and search there for descr_strat and put the other factions under the right title (playable)

  • @mouthforwar17 You need to defeat it ( If I remember correctly) or unlock manualy by puting scotland from Unlockable to Unlocked (or something like that)

  • I like that what you sayd about to give aztecs some city`s in europe!

    Nice tutorial btw.

  • help ppl i've reached turn 100 with HRE (Holy Roman Empire) and the "A Deadly New Weapon" event haven't appear yet!!!

  • Ya this is my first campaign since I got this game on steam about a week ago. I also read that in either newer or older versions (like 1.0 or 1.2 or whatever) the gunpowder won't come till like turn 100 something. Thanks a lot for the help man!!!

  • @Mrhahahahatim Yep! 1.2 is a major update, and 1.3 just fix the multiplayer. I don't know if steam updated medieval 2 already, but they usually do. But anyway no problem.

  • The World Is Round event at what turn it comes in?

  • WTF I'm on turn 88 and haven't had the gunpowder event yet???!!!!

  • @Mrhahahahatim [First] Hopefully you will get it soon. Im trying to find ways to make this video show a stronger statement about this situation. Apparently, in Medieval 2 total war, players may never encounter the same event(s) on the same turn(s). For example, if you played your first campaign and discovered gunpowder on turn 85, you may not discover gunpowder on turn 85 on the second campaign etc. The event are near/close though, like 85, 86, 89, 91, etc. etc.

  • @Mrhahahahatim [Second] For example, Venice found the World is Round on turn 165, but Egypt and Russia on turn 161. And for some reason when I played as Venice, Timurad invaded after the World is Round, but invaded before when playing as Russia. I bought myself Medieval 2 gold yesterday since the discs I found are too scratchy, so I'll run another test later.

  • i cant believe people are still playing this shit too, this game is awesome. im like 9 turns away from the mongol invasion and im scrambling beyond belief to maintain control of jerusalem. i keep acre (?) enemy controlled so i can declare a crusade on it cause most of my armies are in turkey and i want them to march for free for a couple of turns as crusading armies, then i can save enough cash to make a real army to repel the mongols. granted, ill have deserters in jerusalem due to no movement.

  • Thanks man I'm only on turn 80 something, the mongols just invaded so I'll keep going!!! Thanks and I love the vids!

  • What do you need for Britain?? I'm playing that campaign now and I can't build anything capable of sailing to america

  • @Mrhahahahatim First you need to get the "The World is Round" event, and then you build the latest dock. I believe the latest Dock before the event is a Dockyard. Once you get the world event, you can upgrade the Dockyard to a Naval Dockyard in order to build the Grand Carrack [needed to sail to America]. Although, I think the castle/city must be a Citadel/Huge City.

  • @GDXTom U Only Need A Regular Carrack Not A Grand

  • @Madnessdefender Ahhh! Thanks for the correction. I just notice that Grand Carrack is the greater Carrack version for Spain and Portugal, I believe. Also, I think these two factions also have Caravel that can travel to America? [I am downloading Medieval 2 gold edition from stream. The Medieval 2 + Kingdom discs I found/recovered are all scratched up. Will test this later].

  • How on earth did the Papal State get so strong in the Venice part of the video?

  • @Andrese959595 At least 4-5 factions declared war on me so I gave the Papal State some of my regions for an alliance. The Papal State was getting stronger and stronger though XD.

  • how to get muskets i only got cannons

  • @Madnessdefender I don't remember what buildings give/make muskets.. so you need to check their description online or in game somewhere. I would like to point out that factions such as Spain (or just Spain only?) get Musketeers, most factions get Arquebusier, and Muslim/Islam factions get Sudanese Gunner. Turks get Janissary Musketeer.

  • @GDXTom One More Question In Originial M2TW Where Is Greek Fire?

  • @Madnessdefender The Greek Firethrower is only available in Kingdom: Crusade for the Byzantium. I think theres a mod that allow players to build Greek Fire for M2TW.

  • @GDXTom U Knw The LInk Or Somethin?

  • @Madnessdefender [Either check the description for the new link I added] or Google [Tech Tree - Total War Center Forums 169804] The title should say "Tech Tree - Total War Center Forums" and is from twcenter forum. A member by the name, "dr_guerra," posted a link. There are Chinese? Asian language, but it is in English too + you can change the language on the top left. Best to bookmark this website [+ I should add this in the description too!] It said Army Barracks/Royal Barra.

  • Can Papal states discover america ?

  • @UnitingNationsF I believe you can. I didn't know why I didn't test the Papal State and record it though.

  • @UnitingNationsF i did discoverd america with papal states XD

  • Cool I didn't know that you can sail to America...

  • how can you control the Papal state??

  • @TheLastShadow96 You will have to modify a script/file. Please youtube search "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all faction" to find out how.

  • @GDXTom i tried doing that but when i load my game medieval 2 crashes any help/

  • @Gamea650 Hmm when you load a save file or when you load Medieval 2? Does it keep on crashing? If so, did you play this game before or just got/bought it? For now, Im guessing you can't start Medieval 2 but have played the game. It could be mods and scripts interference or graphic card.Try updating Medieval 2 with patches or Reinstall Medieval 2. If either don't work, then ask for help in gaming/Total War technical forums. Unless this is not the problem, go ahead and reply.

  • @GDXTom IT HAPPENS WHEN I CLICK continue campaign or load save file,,,im gonna try to update my game to 1.1,,any suggestions of what version am i gonna patch?

  • @Gamea650 That actually happen to me once + for other several players. Basically the save file became corrupted, which sadly means you (most likely) can't load it again and have to restart. There is no way to fix it unless it is a graphic/hardware issues or files are corrupted. Update from 1.0 to 1.2, because 1.1 to 1.2 causes problem, and 1.2 has the same [1.1] files + more. 1.3 is for multiplayer fix, and 1.5 is for kingdom expansion fix.

  • @Gamea650 Much I can say, let's hope that 1.2 reduces bugs = less corruption later on. I also read somewhere that too much save files can cause corruption, but I can't confirm it. If you encounter save-file error again, contact the Total War forum or TWCenter. I think that such save-file corruption are usually rare. [edit] I just noticed you reply to my comment about the papal state, but if done correctly like the video, it should caused no issues + save-file error are still rare.

  • if u want to know how to change settings for medieval 2 kingdoms check out my channel

  • the best one is milan

  • @vaniko123 Yeh,Milan rocks after gunpowder ^^

I think you said that you are near the end, but you cannot get to America. First, have you encounter, "The World is round 2:17 ," event? if so, you need a city/castle near the ocean to have the latest dock [Navel Dockyard 2:31 ]. Make sure your city/castle is a huge city/citadel. Then, you must only send the Grand Carrack and transport your army [3:12] to America. Or its a bug.

  • is it possible to play as the aztechs?

  • @IamtrulyLegendary Nope. You will have to config. files/scripts to make Aztec playable [which I don't know how and if it is possible], or find a mod for Medieval 2:Total War that has a playable Aztec faction. However, in Medieval 2: Total War Kingdom "American Campaign," you can play as the Aztec, but it takes place only on North America, no Europe.

  • haha funny how the mongols arrive at turn 69 lol

  • @victinhoemn ya :l mostly because at that turn anyone in the east gets fucked.

  • How you use gunpowder and guns in MTW2

  • @eadie213 You'll have to get the "Discovery of gunpowder" event.... I don't remember what buildings make these gun solders [I only know Arquebusier and Musketeer], so you have to right click buildings or look through facts on how. Im guessing that Alchemy and the latest Barracks make these.

  • @GDXTom How you get discovery of gunpowder event

  • @GDXTom do u have to be at round 86 or something

  • @eadie213 Nope. For some reason, every time I played campaign mode, I do not get events at the same "turn" or years. Same goes for many players. So there are chances that you won't encounter the gunpowder event on turn 86, but maybe near turn 86. For example, somewhere around 70-100 you'll get the gunpowder event.

  • can you fight naval battles in this?

  • @ironmaiden66695 Sadly no, naval battles are possible in Empire: Total War, Napoleon: Total War, and Shogun 2: Total War. You can only do automatic-resolve for Medieval 2 naval battles.

  • U coward, go on very hard you faggot.

  • @QiLeGaCy Sir, this video is a simple yet long (with some unnecessary) footage of Medieval 2 on "How to get to America." Difficulty is not important, so search your videos elsewhere for these so called hard-difficulty-gameplay/campaign-of-medieval 2.

  • funny how the cursor encircles the dockyard =)))

  • how do you get to unlock all factions for campain

  • @TheMrtinners Please youtube search "Medieval 2 Total war Unlock all faction" to find out how.

  • sorry did i mist something? where was the part where you came to america?

  • @Lumak1 The scene where Im moving ships to America? 4:18. 5:02 = means there only a couple of American's regions on Medieval 2.

  • @GDXTom ok i see.does it depend on the ship typ?

  • @Lumak1 Yes for most Christian/Non-Muslim/Islam factions, you can only send the Carrack/Grand Carrack. For Muslim/Islam factions, the ship is called the Baghlah

  • thank you

  • but for England, is it possible?

  • @ClaudiuSemy Yep

  • @ClaudiuSemy I tried, and it works, thank you.:)

  • Did you choose The Turks and Did you went america

  • @msannn1 I have not tried the Turks, but the Turks should be able to go to America. I did played Egypt and the only ship that can get to America is the "Baghlah," shown in 9:25 [for Muslim/Islam/Middle Eastern Factions.]

  • Can you go across the new world of just the little bit of it?

  • @Karoar12118 Sadly, little bit of it. The New World in the grand campaign includes part of South-Eastern North America [Aka parts of Florida], Caribbean, and parts of South America [including Brazil somewhere way down I think]. In order to play most of America, you need Medieval 2: Total War Kingdom - America Campaign, but then again there's no Europe, just America. Check for mods in the "TWCenter" forum, such as the "Expanded Americas" mod [Need Kingdom].

  • @GDXTom Thank you :)

  • dose it need to be a long campaign

  • @smilly456 For "The World is Round Event"? It doesn't really matter. Short campaign means you need to capture some regions, while long campaign means capture more regions, thus longer. For example, on short campaign you need to have 10 regions to win, while on long campaign you need 20, etc. etc. . Just make sure that your faction don't get destroyed.

  • wait a sec world flat i think LOL

  • Can you do this with all factions or just some christian ones?

  • @LinkandMarioman I believe all factions can travel to the new world [Though I have never tried modified-playable "Rebel" faction]. While the latest ship is called the Grand Carrack(s), it is called the Baghlah for the Islam/Muslim/Middle Eastern Factions.

  • @GDXTom Well, thanks a lot. I'm currently doing a moorish campaign, so I just wanted to know whether or not I could colonize the americas. ;)

  • @luftwaffe789456123 I bought it off steam

  • Con-ConquistaDora!

  • do u have a time limit on this???

  • @comeonyoukr2008 If time limit as in the end date where its the last turn before the campaign is over, then yes. Other than that, no. There is a way to modify the end date by editing a Medieval 2 script.

  • i like to play as aztecs at campain mode they start with a huge army, i kill spain very fast.

  • @HakannRed your talking about Kingdoms.

  • do you need the Kingdoms ADD ON?

  • at 5:31 the aztec video has spasms....

  • The campaign just kinda starts no intro nothing it just starts letting me build stuff and everthing

  • Umm I may sound like a noob but how do you get that starting intro thing by the advisor to work? For me it just kind of starts.

  • @GlarbSnorf is your game Legit or you have the pirated one?

  • Now you can tell us...

How do you get to Sesame Street?

  • Everything happens very late for the English. Gunpowder was found at turn 100 or something.... and mongols at 80 something.... oh god i hate them so much.... but i manged to kill them....

  • can you do this as the English Faction?

  • I think Gun powder is invented on turn 81. Either that or somewhere in the 80's. Oh yeah, ad I forgot to mention that the pope is a jerk in this game.

  • @IGTEW2 I might need to edit the annotations. I don't know why but almost everyone encounters certain events on different turns. It just that the events are near certain turns. [For example I got gun powder on 86, you got it on 81, so its possible that gunpowder event is around 80ish]. Anyway, I do agree that the Pope is a jerk. Especially when the inquisitors killed my Sultan generals and that the Papal State can't be destroyed [However, killing all Cardinals/Pope stop the pope, I'm told].

  • @IGTEW2 lol it aint the 80s

  • @AregonRay I know I meant around the 80 turns. Like, turn 80-89? Not the 1980's but lol now that I think of it it does sound like I wrote it that way.

  • @IGTEW2 that was part of teh joke XD

  • cheater lol

  • help me please: i have discovered that, when the event "mongols invade" they actually doesnt invade me at all how is that? I have to say, i used "fog of war: off" as a cheat on the campaign nb: i play as french. Can it be that, what is wrong? one more thing.. HOW do you get banners showed "on battlefield" o: thanks if anyone reply i would be most appreciated....

  • @zesusdk Since you are playing as France, your "Capital" is far away from the mongols. The mongols will invade Europe from the far right side of the map [The Russian side or the Egypt side]. They will invade Europe with some large army, and capture any cities/castles nearby. If they actually didn't invade! Then this might be a bug. I'm not sure about the banner part, I think you need to modify a file/script. Google "Turning Banners off? Medieval 2" or something like that.

  • @GDXTom yea i guess it could be a bug, becourse the whole map is visible for me, as i spoke earlier i got fog of war off.. So about that banner ingame on the battlefield is not a default setting in the game? But are modifitied by the player? I just though that any total war game had the banner showen on the battlefield as a default thing o: but i will try that, thank you :)

  • @zesusdk I thought so too about the banner. Check the option if there's anything about the banner [Ui/Game option I think? The one for battle mode]. If not, then yes a file must be modified. And oh, about fog of war, it doesn't really affect the mongols invasion. Most cheats do not affect MTW2 and I use them before, but some can [Such as changing the date]. Nevertheless, I think its a bug, and I guess all I can say is > prepare for the "Timurad Invasion" :]. Hope these help, and your welcome.

  • @GDXTom I researched a little, and found out, that a medievaltotalwar2.prefferences cfg.file is the one that i looking for :P changing the show_banner=0 to show_banner=1. but some people says it still wont work, so im not sure.. about mongol, i think i might just have to start a new campaign then. One question though, what is "Timurad Invasion"? another event of an faction invasion or?... :) Thanks again for you're time.

  • @zesusdk Yes the Timurid [sorry not Timurad] is another faction invasion that will also invade from the right side of the map. Im not going to spoil much about what unique units/army they'll bring, because if you never encounter them before then their army are interesting :]. I'll give you one hint, I believe you hire "those" units as mercenaries.

  • @GDXTom hmm quite interesting :) but these timurids as faction aren't playable in costom battles? I dont believe i've seen nor played them. Do you know when this faction will invade? 'in turn'

.... If their units are like those rough guys u can hire as merchenaries. I say i better prepare to defend myself xd

  • @zesusdk Yes they are not playable. Even through desc_script modification, only Aztec, Mongols, and Timurids are still unplayable. They'll invade in a couple of more turns after the discovery that the" world is round" event I think. Such factions are usually playable on certain mods... which I recommend that you should try some mods maybe-after you completed some campaign. I like Stainless Steel, Broken Crescent [More Middle Eastern factions], The third age [Lord of The Ring] Try Youtubing this.
