I hate Gene Simmons these days. Yes, he kept his head durning their bad times and he is quick to point out the others flaws in life but money and greed has always been HIS drug and drink. Paul is just as bad for being a part of it. SHAME is what these two are now. Fucking sell outs.

It's sad beacuse what peter said was that after their 2004 tour with Areosmith, Paul told peter over the phone (without contacting him for a while, he had posted on his website "nobody called") and Paul said "We Need a NEW KISS" and pretty much said it "Your to old" and he was out. The only reason I can see is, Paul & Gene wanted money ...

Never heard this before, I really like this. It does sound like something Bowie would do. The song is just plain exciting, very dark and moody and yet very positive.
Kiss would never have done something like this. Yeah as far as Kiss doing it for the fans goes, it's really not true. It would have been true before 1979. They do the same songs over and over and the stage show is good but never really changes that much. I first heard Kiss in 1975, stopped in 1979.
@msciresi That's about where I gave up, too. Unmasked was pretty weak. They hit their stride on Love Gun, I figure, although Destroyer is pretty amazing! And yes, Peter is showing more balls doing something like this than Gene or Paul ever would.
@bartonim it's too bad Ace had his problems when he did. If you look at the songs he had from his solo record, plus Rocket Ride (which was supposed to go on his solo album) and the songs from Dynasty Ace really could have taken KISS in a much more rocking direction.

Peter didn't really write much that would fit into the KISS framework--his solo record was the weakest seller, while Ace sold the most of his. Gene and Paul prefer to tread water these days, just trading on the KISS brand name, sadly!

I'm a KISS fan from 74/75 and I've always love them from the first LP but this is horrible, But it goes along with what the band is doing now which is HORRIBLE! The only person now worth respecting is Ace. Peter God love him is done... and thats ok, it happens but what Gene and Paul are doing to this band is pure crap, I don't blame Tommy for taking the money but I wonder if he ever lays in bed at night and says "I'm a whore" because he is.

Tommy didn't do shit. I love peter and ace. I love KISS, i'll admit what is true and what is not. Stick to the facts. The first time he left it was for the best because he couldn't continue and thats understandable. Second time he left because he was tired of gene's bullshit. Peter was let go the second time because apparently he couldn't keep up. For KISS bringing in tommy and eric was a good move.

@twoo57 Oh thats where you are wrong I DID have issues with the band when they took off the make and new people were in it. What the difference is THAT KISS went on the become a new KISS in a way. THIS KISS is just doing old KISS. There's nothing new about this KISS no change in direction. It's "Lets just redo the old stuff with new people" and to me thats wrong. They didn't dress Vinnie up as Ace and have him play old Ace licks thats the difference.

I hate when Gene says "we do this for the fans" when he does this for himself. I just don't think a lot of REAL effort goes back into KISS anymore. The set list is ALWAYS the same no real effort goes into the costumes same as 30 years ago etc. Doesn't mean I dislike them it's just they disappoint me now because it just comes across TO ME, that they are just mailing it in and as a long time fan thats sad. This song, like many of Peter's songs, is remarkably bad. It highlights his terrible lack of drumming skills, his inability to write lyrics and his ability to make the simplest song sound like shit. God rest his stinky soul. Cover his body with a layer of warm feces and let the catman live forever.
Peter sold his make up. But Ace still owns his. Ace owns the rights to the original space man and gets payed every time Gene & Paul use it. However.. a couple of years ago they changed Tommy's make up a little so they don't have to pay Ace for it. Ace gave away a lot of his stuff from his Kiss years to a friend. The Dynasty outfit and a couple of guitars and stuff!
There will never be another reunion of the original 4 members again. it happened, and that's it. Peter and Ace left, and sold the rights to the costumes which gave Gene and Paul the right to put whoever they want in those costumes now. Rock and Roll all night the original KISS!

I think that kiss should do one more tour together as one. All of the original members and then just see how that goes. If ace and Peter are up for it then kiss needs to untite and forget about Tommy and Eric. I also think that Tommy and Eric shoulve gotten different make-up designs like vinnie and the other Eric. It's a better idea.

Paul pleaded with him to stay in the band but Ace said he couldnt because being in the band was killing him. Untrue, how much hype and marketing did you hear with KISS's new album compared with Ace's? Same with their respective tours. The amount of money Gene and Paul pump into advertising and marketing is phenomenal. Ace's album slipped in under the radar, and was a far better album!
I saw him in a sold out 1,500 venue in London and he was ON FIRE! We'll see how it compares to KISS in May 2010.....

Peter Criss is actually a fan of Roxy Music,so I think thats where his inspiration draws from on this song. Peter Criss is phenomenal,I hope his next album has the same sound as this.

You can prefer the old lineup but that doesn't mean Criss is better than Singer. Everyone has their opinion but when I listen to this and then hear Singer's drumming I hear a huge difference and that difference is in favor of Singer.

In my opinion , yes. Queen is not Queen without Freddy just as Freddy alone was not Queen. Alice Cooper was a band , Alice alone is Alice alone , not the band. That doesn't mean Carr , Singer , Kulick , Vincent and Thayer aren't terrific artists. It's like chemistry, as close as some may come it's not the same . It's not bitterness at all, I still have the originals and if the cover band turn out a good song I applaud but it's not Kiss.
Refering to any Kiss lineup past Criss' departure as a "cover band" just comes across as an unfair insult. Kiss is Kiss no matter who comes and who goes. If Criss had been more generous to the fans back in the 80's then the original line up that you prefer would have stayed together. Given that "Alive 35" and Sonic Boom are getting rave reviews and are highly successful I think that Kiss has just enough fans but thank you for your concern. Also, I am unsure on what Peter having written Beth before he came to Kiss has anything to do with what I said. Never heard this before, I really like this. It does sound like something Bowie would do. The song is just plain exciting, very dark and moody and yet very positive.
Kiss would never have done something like this. Yeah as far as Kiss doing it for the fans goes, it's really not true. It would have been true before 1979. They do the same songs over and over and the stage show is good but never really changes that much. I first heard Kiss in 1975, stopped in 1979.

@msciresi That's about where I gave up, too. Unmasked was pretty weak. They hit their stride on Love Gun, I figure, although Destroyer is pretty amazing! And yes, Peter is showing more balls doing something like this than Gene or Paul ever would.

@bartonim it's too bad Ace had his problems when he did. If you look at the songs he had from his solo record, plus Rocket Ride (which was supposed to go on his solo album) and the songs from Dynasty Ace really could have taken KISS in a much more rocking direction.

@msciresi Yeah, I think Ace and Peter were the real rock 'n roll in KISS. Peter didn't really write much that would fit into the KISS framework--his solo record was the weakest seller, while Ace sold the most of his. Gene and Paul prefer to tread water these days, just trading on the KISS brand name, sadly!

Ok Ok I gotta say it... Ive been a Kiss fan since 73,,, I fricken hate the new line up!period!! Kiss became huge due to one combined effort....ie....paul gene ace and peter....The shit never wouldve flew without that line up....I rank ace with the best,,,,jimmy paige and eddie vanhalen... I wanna hear more ace!!!! We are listening guy!!! and youve gotta say the best two drummers ever are john bonnam and peter criss

Cool tribute to ACE ...Peter obviously has always had more class than Gene. Gene,a torturous individual to associate with, perpetuated a band as a circus performance, as he whored songs written by Ace, and merchandised self-admittingly everything in sight with a Kiss logo.

I think Peter's a great guy and everything...but seriously...This sounds like someone jamming in their trailer home somewhere while on pills and a few stiff drinks or more....@3:50 it actually starts to sound like old KISS from the 1st album...still shitty though. I think Peter is from the school of " If I walk up to a mic and start singing whatever comes to mind...and I have a big ego...then it must sound good to everyone!"..at least thats what Im getting from this sound. I'm a KISS fan from 74/75 and I've always love them from the first LP but this is horrible, But it goes along with what the band is doing now which is HORRIBLE! The only person now worth respecting is Ace. Peter God love him is done... and thats ok, it happens but what Gene and Paul are doing to this band is pure crap, I don't blame Tommy for taking the money but I wonder if he ever lays in bed at night and says "I'm a whore" because he is.

Tommy didn't do shit. I love peter and ace. I love KISS, i'll admit what is true and what is not. Stick to the facts. The first time he left it was for the best because he couldn't continue and thats understandable. Second time he left because he was tired of gene's bullshit. Peter was let go the second time because apparently he couldn't keep up. For KISS bringing in tommy and eric was a good move.

@twoo57 I have no issue with Eric, lets face it Peter can't play anymore. But other than the makeup Eric isn't making pretend to be Peter Criss, He's his own player in the band. Tommy Walks like Ace, Stands like Ace, Plays note for note of Ace's stuff. Now I understand that for the most part on older songs but EVERY lick on Sonic Bomb was an old Ace lick EVERYONE! We sat down one night and played the songs he stole them from...Not one new solo was on that record.

I would have rather heard Ace play on Sonic Boom because his playing has changed that listen to Tommy play old Ace licks from 30 years ago...How is that good? I've been a long time fan and this is NOT KISS. It's Gene milking the thing to death.

@twoo57 Oh thats where you are wrong I DID have issues with the band when they took off the make and new people were in it. What the difference is THAT KISS went on the become a new KISS in a way. THIS KISS is just doing old KISS. There's nothing new about this KISS no change in direction. It's "Lets just redo the old stuff with new people" and to me thats wrong. They didn't dress Vinnie up as Ace and have him play old Ace licks thats the difference.

Nothing new nothing fresh. at least in the 80's they were trying something new. This is just more of the same. I would have rather heard something fresh from them. I hate when Gene says "we do this for the fans" when he does this for himself. I just don't think a lot of REAL effort goes back into KISS anymore. The set list is ALWAYS the same no real effort goes into the costumes same as 30 years ago etc. Doesn't mean I dislike them it's just they disappoint me now because it just comes across TO ME, that they are just mailing it in and as a long time fan thats sad. Stay cool

This song, like many of Peter's songs, is remarkably bad. It highlights his terrible lack of drumming skills, his inability to write lyrics and his ability to make the simplest song sound like shit. God rest his stinky soul. Cover his body with a layer of warm feces and let the catman live forever.

Peter sold his make up. But Ace still owns his. Ace owns the rights to the original space man and gets payed every time Gene & Paul use it. However.. a couple of years ago they changed Tommy's make up a little so they don't have to pay Ace for it. Ace gave away a lot of his stuff from his Kiss years to a friend. The Dynasty outfit and a couple of guitars and stuff!

There will never be another reunion of the original 4 members again. it happened, and that's it. Peter and Ace left, and sold the rights to the costumes which gave Gene and Paul the right to put whoever they want in those costumes now. Rock and Roll all night the original KISS!

I think that kiss should do one more tour together as one. All of the original members and then just see how that goes. If ace and Peter are up for it then kiss needs to untite and forget about Tommy and Eric. I also think that Tommy and Eric shoulve gotten different make-up designs like vinnie and the other Eric. It's a better idea.

Don't Get Me wrong I am BIg Ace Frehley and Peter Criss Fan , but they are much more Big and Popular when they are in KISS , Look at the album sales of Peter and Ace , compared to Sonic Boom ! @kayykayyxoxxx I agree with what you are saying, but both times Ace has left on his own. Ace never screwed up. Ace left the first time because he was having anxiety attacks. Paul pleaded with him to stay in the band but Ace said he couldnt because being in the band was killing him. The second time Ace left, but the reason hasn't really been disclosed, there are only rumours.

this song sounds like pink floyd. bottom line- peter and ace didnt pull their weight. they cared more about drugs and alcohol then the fans. paul and gene founded KISS and only they need to stay the constant members. i am a HUGE fan of tommy and eric. sure they immitate but are much much better. i like aces new album but if him and peter are the best then it would be them thats selling out the largest stadiums of the world

Untrue, how much hype and marketing did you hear with KISS's new album compared with Ace's? Same with their respective tours. The amount of money Gene and Paul pump into advertising and marketing is phenomenal. Ace's album slipped in under the radar, and was a far better album!
I saw him in a sold out 1,500 venue in London and he was ON FIRE! We'll see how it compares to KISS in May 2010.....

Peter and Ace are PART of the Kiss family, they are not Kiss. Nobody in the group is larger than band, as both Peter and Ace found out. I agree with you about Carr, Carr was the best drummer the band has ever had.

These days, it's hard to find one band that still has the original line up. People come, people go. That is the nature of the profession. In my opinion , yes. Queen is not Queen without Freddy just as Freddy alone was not Queen. Alice Cooper was a band , Alice alone is Alice alone , not the band. That doesn't mean Carr , Singer , Kulick , Vincent and Thayer aren't terrific artists. It's like chemistry, as close as some may come it's not the same . It's not bitterness at all, I still have the originals and if the cover band turn out a good song I applaud but it's not Kiss.

Refering to any Kiss lineup past Criss' departure as a "cover band" just comes across as an unfair insult. Kiss is Kiss no matter who comes and who goes. If Criss had been more generous to the fans back in the 80's then the original line up that you prefer would have stayed together. Instead he was selfish and got to the point where he couldn't even sing Beth because he was coked out of his mind. Ace too. As far as chemistry goes, I just saw Kiss play and it was the best they've ever sounded.

Given that "Alive 35" and Sonic Boom are getting rave reviews and are highly successful I think that Kiss has just enough fans but thank you for your concern. Also, I am unsure on what Peter having written Beth before he came to Kiss has anything to do with what I said. I stated that he was so coked out that he could barely remember the limit lyrics of the song. It's right here on youtube, search for it.
