MK1 Lotus S1 where never sold in the US - this is somebody's personal import. Originaly sold with a tuned up Rover K series motor with 190 bhp - Honda conversions have been around for a long time before Lotus ever put a Toyota motor in the back of an Elise.
took out a toyota engine put in a honda engine. into a lotus?, NICE work i must admit. lotus hit a home run with that car in my opinion. that 2.4 , i take it you hardly have to push it to go for a wild ride Eh?
I just took out the 1.8L 5 spd and custom fit a 'Built' 2.4L 6 spd, so first track day is May 2nd. I'm guessing maybe 165 mph. The car weighs 1600 lbs with 276hp. (241whp/175Tq). It will put out 280whp with more aggressive cams, but it hardly needs it. It's amazing how fast a super-light car can be with moderate power.
Saturday's Cars & Coffee... Thanks for posting! Actually it's a 4 cylinder... Brand new K24. Steam vapor... not smoke. It was really cold... Add cold tires and cold pavement and you get cool wheel spin.
