  • nice!! and all the questions and info is very helpfull...im in new zealand and not long purchased a 69 VF Valiant with a slanty 225,,its like the aussie version of the dodge dart..im looking to invest in an offenhauser intake and holley 390 4bbl myself

  • i have a clifford 4 barrel intake with a holley 8007 carb (390 cfm)...do you know what the value of this could possibly be?

  • @bigbrandon429

You could probably get about 200-300 for the combo.

  • @bigbrandon429 you could get $200-$250 for the carb and $200-$250 for the intake. if they are in excellent condition. both items sell for more than $300 new.

  • new intake?? or mod stock for 2 barrel??

  • @keeton520

Offenhauser 4 barrel. It's since been switched over to a 390 CFM holley 4 barrel, the Demon dumped too much air in all at once.

  • @FuelInjectionSucks so the 4 barrel is better any cam work head work anything sorry so much question i got a little 76 dodge aspen 225 4 speed it fast but i wanna burn some rubber

  • @keeton520

The 4 barrel is more progressive, it only opens half the carb until the secondaries are needed.. The two-barrel dumped it all at once and it had a terrible bog. The truck is all stock internally.

  • @FuelInjectionSucks hows it run??

  • Love the truck. Ive got a 81 short box stepside with a super six with the 4 speed, for exhaust i went with 3 inch single with an aero muffler. about two feet past the manifold we put 1&1/2 inch baffle 8 inches long inside the pipe for a cushion of air and backpressure, then put the pipe out in front of the back tire with a 3.5 inch boom tube tip. the sound is amazing, its loud but deep mellow and controled sounding and the power increase was pretty good too. next is a small turbo and camshaft.

  • throw an H-pipe in there, it'll give it more rumble and power, when i did mine on my Suburban i was amazed how much better it sounded

  • @snakesonaplane2 It had actually had a merge in the header, which I removed. We were going for the old-school split pipe sound. Having the pipes split gives it a cracking sound.

  • @FuelInjectionSucks i see, i'm looking for a 4spd 225 D150 but to keep it cheap i'd go stock single exhaust with a glasspack in place of the stock muffler, also adding the export 2bbl setup which is a bit better than the domestic Power Pack; i think the Carter BBD/2bbl intake, LT header with heat riser, 2.25" single exhaust with a turbo muffler, the export 2bbl cam, ported and blueprinted head, lighter distributor advance weight springs and 3.55 gears would make a stump puller truck

  • @snakesonaplane2 He has a couple of factory 2bl intake from "super sixes". They use the carter carb (has that too).

The 2.25'' exhaust man was also part of the super-six package, where a regular slant has the 2''. Don't waste your time with a stock cam, if you're going to go through that much work get a cam more matched to the motor. Comp among others makes quite a few cams for them, and would be a more modern cam design which should be more efficient and make more torque/horsepower.

  • @FuelInjectionSucks there should be an in-between cam, there's the bone stock 1bbl cam and the Hyper Pack cam which is too big for a pulling truck but there's a cam for the export 2bbl/Power Pack engine which is bigger than stock but still has lots of low end for street driving and pulling, which is what i would use

  • @FuelInjectionSucks i'd build it up with a ported head, LT header, exhaust, gears and all that and the Power Pack cam, just have to go through cam and engine break through procedure especially ona flat tappet cam motor but after 500 easy miles on stock valve springs it'd be ready for stiffer springs and some pulling, it'd be a hell of a puller, i have a 3.9 5spd Dakota i pull a 5x10 trailer with and it does fine but sucks gas since it doesn't have a strong low end

  • sweet i like it, im going to pick up a 1979 ram charger 2wd full removable top today with a 225 slant six super six, my first dodge, so far from what i have seen and herd from other people the /6 is great motor im looking forward to having my new toy. plans for it are straight pipes painted steel smoothie wheels white walls lower and eventually bags cut off uppr door frame and mod the top to work with the glass when shut and primer for now

  • SCHWEET!!!!!! I Love it!

  • Man, that is looking and sounding good.........should run out real strong.
