Nothing is as salty as surströmming. But it takes some time to grow on you. It's a dying tradition but I love it. I recon I could make you like it with time, and then BAM! You love it. It is a very swedish thing as not even Norwegians eat it, even though they eat more weird stuff in every other aspect.

Chris from Sweden here again... You should know a few things about surströmming:

1) It's only eaten AFTER you've had at least 5 schnaps

2) It only tastes good because the smell is so bad, the taste is good by comparison

3) It's slightly poisonous

4) Not even swedes eat it nowadays, only old, drunk people, and even then it's only once every year.
