Why are there less than 300 supernova rings--who says there are? Just like the claim there is only one supernova every 30 years, that's simply a statement of how many we OBSERVE.  Of course we observe more supernova than supernova rings--supernova are far more visible than pretty much anything.

It's almost disturbing how easy it is for me to refute Hovind's ridiculous claims. He is either deliberately lying or is just completely fucking stupid. Either way, he has no business talking about science.

I would write a long, drawn out statement refuting the claims myself, but the majority of them can either be dismissed by logic alone, or by reading "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawkings. If I can say one thing, it's that Hovind appears to ignore the effects of gravity entirely.

First of all, scientists estimate the universe to be about 13.5 billion years old plus or minus about 120 million years. Not 20 billion. Secondly, where did this man's claim of the "only 300 nova rings" part come from? Which, by the way, he says proves that the universe is about 9 thousand years old!LOL

The "estimated age" of the universe changes all the time.

1 every 30 years is an aproximate. It suggeests that the universe is only few thousand years old, not billions.

9000 is much closer to 6000 than the billions that most scientists believe.
