He actually didn't send a text, he literally called Syd while they were on stage and the phone buzzed in perfect timing with when he was supposed to check the text.

They or the Society needs to put up their hilarious "Lida Rose" from the 2009 International Convention.
Like this song, they prove that it's possible to do a hilarious parody of a song without altering a single word of the lyrics.
Hot Air Buffoon's "From the First Hello to the Last Goodbye" is another example of such.
