@andrewboyd28 it's true, I've heard this many times. always from some muppet who never warmed the bike up and constantly let the bike run low on poor quality oil. They will easily run forever with twice the power of these yamahas if you just use your brain. if you want a slow underpowered but incredibly expensive bike, that you never want to clean or look after, get the yam. If you want a fast, exotic, beautifully crafted, italian gp race replica for half the price, get the aprilia.

Here are the facts. 127 kph = 78.9141414 mph. and that's assuming the tacho is accurate, which they are not. you probably just watched 70mph if you are lucky.

Yamaha R125 = 14.8 hp stock condition

Early Aprilia RS125 = 29 hp stock condition

Any teens looking for a 125, save your money and get yourself a proper bike. I got 33bhp out of my RS125 with a pipe and air filter would hit an indicated 116 MPH too, but i've seen others get more.

I'm impressed how fast that yamaha r125 goes. Here in finland most of 4-stroke 125cc bikes dont go even near that fast unless they are tuned. Those times when I rode 125cc bike gone many years ago so I'm not sure if things have changed, Though I believe not.
