surely it depends on what you use it for, i mean for high-end movie making a mac is better, but for most offices and general computing either is okay, but Windows is cheaper, and Mac OS X is more refined (in my opinion), also for general use by the public without tutorials, windows is better as many people use it.

Macs are more functional as far as the OS goes, but the software market is focused on windows.

Also, apple makes most of their computers prices inflated. As far as I know only the macbook pros are the only cost effective computers they sell. Also, this garbage concerning multitasking is stupid, it completely depends on a computer's individual stats. Macs just look better at showing the multitasking, because everything is intuitive.

tl;dr: most of the people that hate an OS need to grow up.

the difference really is night and day when it comes to productivity, mac kicks ass. if you want to game however, windows software should be your choice. but then again, thats why mac has boot camp or similar programs~

PC usually isnt that great. Cnet uses a test to determine how well a PC's parts function together. in general you only get 80% max performance out of the conjoined parts.

The most important one.

- The PC's might not run apps better than MACs... but at least it can run everything. From apps to games.

- I don't know if you can upgrade MACs... But that's something you can do with a PC too (less important :P)

- I game more than I use apps in general, so a PC suits me more.

- The PC doesn't have fancy animations. Vista does, but I don't use Vista.

So it basically comes to that the PC can do almost anything. But not that great. So there's consoles, which usually game better (although my PC pwns consoles). There's MACs, better with apps (although my PC is probably as good as a general MAC, talking about performance).

I'll probably come up with more reasons during the day. But I hope you don't mind that I would probably not post them. Because I have other things to do ;)

apps arent important, its how you can use the apps, thats whats called productivity. and thats macs strong point. thats what I value in a computer. for games, consoles will always be better for that kind of thing.

the only reason people get stuck with a PC is because they know the technical aspects of windows and dont want to loose all their previous computing knowladge which makes them feel like they know about the technology. its all one big prejudice. really

If you need to run any Windows-only applications then you can just run Windows like I did in the video.

Macs a very "game friendly". Even more so than a PC. Macs can play Windows, Mac and Linux games. PC's can only play Windows and Linux. - Just install Windows using Bootcamp, really simple and easy. Apple include all the correct drivers for Windows to run great on any Mac.

Tons of videos on youtube showing Macs running games like Crysis on high and max graphics.

The Mac Pro is the ultimate gaming machine. Or even the high end iMac.

The reason I did that was to show how the Mac handles a lot of windows open at the same time.. by using Expose I was showing how good the Mac is for multi-tasking.

Back when I did this I only had 2GB RAM and as the screen recording application was still 1.0 (very buggy) It used a lot of my RAM up. This meant that running both that and Windows was a little hard. - However, Windows runs perfect on my MacBook Pro. Can do anything a PC can do.

I now have 4GB RAM and plan on making yet another video when I have time showing all this a little better.

Yep. 2.2Ghz MacBook Pro.. whe I did the video it only had 2GB RAM and I have just upgraded it to 4GB RAM. :D

So it is much much faster and handles a lot more now.

You can do everything I did in that video, easily. The new MacBook's have a great processor and come with 2GB RAM.

The only down side to the MacBook is the graphics card. You can still play many games.. but not as well as the MacBook Pro.

Lol, of course it does. However, I don't use the M$ messenger. I use a different (and better, in my opinion) program called Adium. It supports the use of many different messengers. It's also fully customizable. Google it. ;)

Go to google and search for the program called "Afloat" for the ghostly windows and then to open tons of windows really fast, just hit Cmd + N.
