  • Sweet video man, got some good tips for my bench and wrap use, thanks!

  • legs squirm around and shit because they have no core strength, not leg strength.

  • I`m watching ur videos for couple of weeks and everything I see is usefull to me, thanks for the tips and advices. Going to subscribe to you and hope the videos keep comming :)

Keep up the good job !

  • Use chalk instead.

  • bro the first person im gonna meet when i hit the US, is you ma champ

  • Thx for the upload. Looking forward for more videos :)

  • some day - when you're a big boy - you can touch your chest, and do a complete rep.

  • @RexisAZero If you attempt to touch your chest with the bar you take the risk of "bouncing" the bar and on top of that you should never go much less than 90 degrees angle in your elbows. Look at the angle your elbow makes when you do a pushup. I bet you dont touch your chest to the ground. If he touches his chest with the bar he could overextend his muscles potentially causing a tear. Don't talk if you don't know what your talking about.

  • @3BAWC

you're pretty fucking stupid. you must do half ass bench press too, and pretend you're strong.

  • @RexisAZero Actually your Fuckin stupid...@3BAWC is right.....anybody who knows any thing about lifting knows that you will tear your pec overextending by touching that weight to your chest....I know countless people who have learned the hard way.

  • @tech2080

    you know countless people?

    i highly doubt that.

  • @RexisAZero if you're such a big boy why don't you post videos of yourself teaching us all how to lift? i mean we can all pretend like we're badasses behind the monitor

  • @huybejammin

    i would - but, i'm a 'secondplacer' - not a champion.

we can all post videos to try to make ourselves look like more than we are, too.

  • @RexisAZero well he has the balls to post a video lol. and are you offended by his youtube name? cause his name has nothing to do with being a lifting champion of any sort lolll.

  • @huybejammin

You seem to be reading into alot of my comments - and, mentioning 'big boy' and 'balls' - makes me think you're hitting on me.

i'm already YT taken - sorry.

  • @RexisAZero well if you don't have anything relevant to say back to my response, i'd say my work is done .

  • @huybejammin

    your work is none existent.

  • Good form; you're very strong with good range of motion. Keep up the good work!

I'm not a huge fan of bench, but thumbs up for using a closed grip. I see lots of idiots using false grip on bench press under a misguided idea that it somehow, miraculously works your chest muscles differently. I guess they just want to maximize their chances of crushing their neck.

  • nicely done video

  • HanhChampion, are there any programs you used to gain strength and power like 5x5 for example? thanks

  • fuck man u are proper strong for ure size! keep up the good work

  • part 2....... like he said, the arms come closer together, then yes, it's more of a tricep lift because the elbow is bending more.

Make note a barbell press is NOT a pure pec lift, pure pec lift is an offset DB fly with the palms out and a line of movement where the shoulder connects to the pec. If you want to have a strong BB press, then start doing decline pronated presses for serratus anterior, weak serratus anterior and you will get STUCK at the bottom of the movement on flat bench.

  • A wider grip does two things 1) it puts more of a stretch into the chest because of where the pec inserts into the shoulder and the fact the shoulder is farther away from the body in a wide grip 2) A wider grip is less distance because of the angle of the elbow. A "warm up" is to prime the central nervous system for its first lift, unless your first lift is going to be 90 pounds, you are wasting your time benching a bar. If you want to know the method, PM me.

  • damn your a beast..making 315 look easy on your first set

  • The background music is from Megaman right? Lol nice

  • @ilthemsc gasp / inzer are the same. Just different color.

  • Can somebody educate me about gloves/wristwraps. Which is better? What's the difference? How do they work? If anyone can recommend good brands, and things to look out for...

    Thanks x

  • wraps are to low. just sayin

  • why u lift your head up as you're going down?

  • 12s suck

  • are these wraps durrable? because all my other ones the velcrow gets worn??

  • @usmc4561 I've had them for 3 or 4 years. They still work like new. I've washed them plenty of times too.

  • your strength is sick; you got better form than some ifbb pros

  • hey hanh, where do you get your singlets? any particular brand by any chance? thanks.

  • @stoner4010 they are wrist wraps not straps...

  • MMX6 soundtrack! love you, lol. thnx for the tips

  • LOL straps on bench.

    LOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • wahh wahh wahh bitches crying. I dont give a fuck if his on the gear or not his got a solid size on him and who gives a fuck really? p.s are these 24" or 12" wraps?? im buying some off bb right now buuut im not quite sure what size to get 24" is 60cm right??

  • @fugehdehyou Its in the description. They are 20". 12 is too short and only wraps around once.

  • @HanhChampion Dammit I just received 12" wraps off the net, yeah I shoulda went for 20, 24's.

  • lol "Hes not spotting me, hes just watching" xDD

  • hey u got some great info thanks so much! but wen ur benchpressing keep your head down dont lift ur head

  • It keeps blood flowing to your head that way you wont get off seeing stars after you lift heavy. You need as much blood flow and oxygen for lifting heavy. If you have your own technique then you can do so.

  • @iModpsp ooo welll alright thanks

  • Makes that 315 look like nothin.

  • I have seen a guy at my gym tear a bicep tendon doing flat bench press with too wide a grip so be careful if you decide to use such a grip.

  • @mohammad112388 which is why I said warm up properly. Its not because its wide. Its because he's not properly conditioned to do such lifting.

  • @HanhChampion

Well there is a limit to how wide you need to go. If you grip the bar as wide as possible you are shortening the range of motion making the chest work less...and if you go too narrow too much triceps. So there is a middle ground which is best, but not trying to argue with you since its obviously worked well for you...

but even when you warm up, the bicep is put in an isometric contraction when gripping so wide, so its not even an issue of warming up.

  • Are the wraps you are wearing the 24 or the 12 inch ones? I'm a female and have thin wrists by genetics, but I like to make sure i wrap around twice, and I dont know if the 12 inch will have too little material for that. I use the pre-wrap and tape right now and I'm trying to invest in some wraps.I broke my wrist earlier in season and I want to have good support now that I healed. Thanks. Great Video btw.

    Sam

  • @JustVidsSam1 these are 24". 12" would be too short for wrapping twice.

  • What angle are your elbows at when you bench? 180?

  • I laughed when you put the annotation when that dude is just watching you.

  • This video helped A TONNNN!! I recently just made the switch from a closer grip(thumb from line) to a much wider grip(middle finger on rings)about a weak ago, It does feel really weird and different but I do use proper form. I usually bench 170x9, will it be easier to get that with wider grip? Thanks.

  • I thought you were going to be benching like 155 at the begining then your went to 225 then im like thats his max, then 315 im like WTF. i gotta give it to you man good soild bench. not trying to be rude btw

  • @Jezey33 thanks man I appreciate it. I usually do 405 with a reliable spotter. lol

  • where did you get ur wrist straps at, the ones i have don't have that little ring for me to put my thumb in.

  • @seasonsxoxo The ones he's wearing are Inzer Advanced Desings. I ordered some Inzer knee and wrist wraps and they came in today. They are really good.

  • Cool videos! Very informative! What kind of gloves are you using in this vid?

  • Like your vids! Im 15 and i'm very intrested in nutrition & workouts! Keep the vids coming! But rly man ur strong!

  • Another thing you can do when you dont have a spotter is not put the clamps on, so when you cant put the weight back, or one arm fails, the weight will slide off instead of the whole bar crushing you

  • Hey hanh how do you work out without getting stretch marks? I usually work out 1hour a day with light weights so my skin can expand properly but I still get some stretch marks.

  • Hey Hanh. Can you make a video on how to use knee straps? Thanks!

  • omg thank you so much at the biggining you said try to have a wide grip on the bar to target your chest rather that you tri seps i have been trying to work on my chest useing narrow grip pressups as i find them easyer than wide grip i my triseps are really big but my chest is pussy thankyou !!!!! :)

  • stop being a pussy and that the chest lol

  • @test2999 you're not funny or can you type correctly.

  • lmfao--you don't want to bounce the bar on your chest cus--

    YOU have a BONE there

    LOLOL

  • Just curious, how come you lift up your head while pressing? To watch the barbell maybe?

  • @t9McClure just to see how far the bar is to his chest

  • What kind of protien shake do you suggest I use? I weight 110 and bench 150. What would help me improve my bench the most?

  • Ohh thanks Hanh. i was actually wondering why my triceps where getting bigger when i didn't even do much triceps exercises and my chest literally stayed the same =D i will keep this in mind for now on

  • Hanh dont need spots, SPOTS NEED HANH

  • Man touch your chest dude.

  • @DaFranchize52 stfu.

  • @HanhChampion

I think this is some goood ass shit mayne, but personally like the mcdavid's wrist wraps, they have a preset sleeve for your wrists, and the have on there the little belt like thing, check them out

  • LOL that guy "watching" you at 1:48 was shaking his head while you were benching as if he was waiting for you to drop it on your face and he was gonna laugh at you. Glad you proved him wrong.

  • Hey Hanh..quick question man what is your height and how much do you weigh? I'm 5'7'' so what would be a good target weight if I want to be lean and proportional? Thanks

  • Your very strong and kudos, but its not an official lift if it doesnt touch your chest, and the bars are called safety bars .

  • @08wallic Touch your chest...youve been lifting for what? like 6 weeks maybe?

  • @xTheBolCtF Ha Ive been lifting for more than six weeks bud. But ask anyone in this sport. No touch to the chest= no lift

  • @08wallic First off, its not a competition so its not necessary to touch your chest. Second, not everyone can extend so far. Also going for a pump would be better than going for points trying to touch your chest. I cannot move my left elbow so low because of an injury when I was younger. So really do what you can for yourself and don't worry about other people. Everyone has to work around what they have.

  • @HanhChampion Alright man, I was just saying. Sorry, I understand

  • @08wallic nah bro lol. All you need is 90 degress when you are doing any type of pushing excerise whether its barebell or dumbell. When you go below 90 degrees, you are putting more strain on your shoulders and before you know it, you may blow a rotator cuff and then you really wont be able to work out at all. Touching your chest is old skool. Know you facts first bro before you hurt yourself.

  • @xTheBolCtF When you touch your chest, the weight is transfered from your chest to shoulders. Go to 90 degrees and trust me you will have more tension on your chest. People think since they are touching their chest, they are working out their chest. Always research first

  • what length are those wrist wraps

  • sick I just got straps today. Thank you for showing us how to use them. Very helpful videos Hanh. One more thing I have been doing the beginners program you recommended for bulking on your blog. At what point do you think I should change it up. This will be my second week. Thanks dude keep up the good work

  • @tygrunge I can do the same routine for a year and still make progress. Really just try to keep the intensity up and up the weights. Basic stuff works.

  • notice the guy in the blue shirt left after you finished your workout? He could have been watching you just in case.

  • how tall are you

  • Hey Hanh, what do you think about benchpressing in the smith machine? Is it nothing compared to the real benchpress? My gym has no loose barbells, only one smith machine...very sad but for the moment i'm stuck there.

Also for squatting, should i just squat in the smith machine for the sake of being able to squat or does leg press trumph squatting in a smith machine?

  • @Cerbberos Smith machines work. I would say free weights help build more muscles since more muscles will be involved to balance the weights. You need more motion to balance a dumbbell vs a barbell. You don't need to balance a smith machine vs a barbell. My advice would be just to use what you have for now and maybe later you can find a better gym. I started working out in an apartment gym and all they had was smith machines so when I jumped to the barbell it was a whole lot harder.

  • Hey hanh. just a quick question maybe its a stupid one im just wondering if i should start using wraps after a certain weight for dumbbells and barbell or only if my wrist start hurting or something. thanks!

  • @wuvj You can use it on your heavy sets or whenever your wrist feels too much pressure. It'll help you finish your workout.

  • MarkFromJeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerssey is JEALOUS of HanhChampion.

  • Gloves are bad, make your grip actually worse by increasing circumference you have to hold.

If you hands are sweaty use chalk instead.

  • @openmy3rdeye Tell me what kind of girl wants to hold a crusty sharp surfaced hand from using chalk? This is training your muscles.. you don't need to tear up your hands. I can lift the same with chalk or gloves. It's really preference.

  • obvious gear user. bench form is shit.

  • @MarkFromJeeeerrsey LOL.. are you doing this for views or what? If you would like to post video response so people can see you feel free to do so. LOL no need to come and talk shit.. not the best idea. Especially when you only bench 220lbs :( failz.

  • @HanhChampion I have a video doing 220 x 5...does that mean that's my max? I hit 255 x 5 last week and I'm natty. You on the other hand have shit bench form, you're form is shit on all your other lifts and it's obvious you're on gear. People on gear who claim natty piss me off.

  • @MarkFromJeeeerrsey 255 x 5.. thumbs up for you. Guess what? nobody cares. So I anger you by posting videos to help people make gains? Hell if it doesn't help you then don't watch. You're still young, immature, and disrespectful. You won't get very far with that attitude son.

  • @HanhChampion Forget that troll Mark man, you know what you're doing and you've helped many people forget the haters, he just jelly because you own him ten fold in knowledge and physique.

  • @MinhSaChau Thanks bro.

  • @HanhChampion you're spreading disinformation in your videos (I've listened to you spill out broscience) when people are taking your word for fact because of your body. The fact remains you only have muscle because you're on gear judging from your terrible lifting form in all your video and wrong information.

  • @MarkFromJeeeerrsey Why don't you give out the right information so we can all learn to look like you. Gear does not build muscles. Nutrition builds size. Working out puts the size in the right spot. Please get your uneducated self offline and go to school. I'm done arguing with a 22 year old kid with a 5th grade education. You're getting blocked.

  • @HanhChampion Why don't we ever see you warm up the bottom half of your body? And why do you lift your head after a few reps? Just wondering not trolling or anything.

  • @blackspear2010 I do warm them up with a few stretches, lunges in place, and squats with just body weight. I can't film everything as its difficult to work out at my best (try it and you'll know what I'm talking about) I lift my head so it doesn't cut off my blood and I can breathe better.

  • @blackspear2010 oh yeah i know i'm a PT, Also you have a lot of haters...makes you wonder why they're on your channel in the first place. i think your doing a good nonetheless and on some of the other vids are you allowed to take your shirt off in the states? in Australia you can't due to health regulations etc...again not trolling. lol

  • @blackspear2010 Haha I can probably count about 5 people that come to my channel and troll then get owned because I have to put them in their place. lol. Some of the other videos were filmed at a hardcore gym (metroflex) so you can train however you like. Plus it was 100 degrees F. with no air conditioning so wearing a shirt is not that comfortable.

  • @HanhChampion thats it mate. oh ok that's fair enough! i look forward to more vids and keep up the hard work, As some of us Aussies say "go hard or go home!!!" Also more haters= more views for you lol.

  • @blackspear2010 Australians are such nice people. I wanna visit one day. As far as views/ money I don't care for it as I don't need it. Its really to give guys a chance to improve themselves.

  • hey hanh, u are freaking inspirational man! can u tell me where i can get those wrist wraps?

  • lol you where on facebook when you where recording this... but anyways good leson bro

  • hey bro you should really have a spotter but you look like you had it for the fisrt few rep but any who i really like watching you and ice1cube videos bro you keep me motivated bro great work......actually you and ice got me back started ....been hard at it for about 3months now was not fat as hell but just wanted to get back to how i was about 4 years ago ok im rambling on now.but really keep making the workout videos and for your hater make them your motivaters A town !!!!! get it in Hanh

  • @paytheadonis Dude, the purpose was to show you how to not rely on a spotter and still push yourself on bench.

  • Hanh, does straps take out some gains in the forearms? I read that in men's fitness, but just wanted to double check with you if that was bs.

  • @xXPaRaNoiDbOyXx You'll use less forearms with straps/ wraps on. However since you're going to lift a whole lot heavier than you usually do... your forearms will still develop. They are used for training purposes. You can do about the same amount of weight after a while without them.

  • @hockeypark No, I don't need help at that weight and if you knew its hard to get people out of the shot. I've already mentioned how there's a lower rack there just above your chest so if you don't have a spotter it will work.

  • Would you recommend you figure out your mind to muscle connection before you push heavier weights?

  • Hanh you're videos are intense! And I wondering what you think about lifting straps and wearing gloves, which would you recommend for deadlifts? Because the bar always slips out of my hands, and if you do recommend gloves what type of lifting gloves? And I can't wait for the diet video man!

  • that guy was awkward for standing there....

  • @kmusic nah that dude is just being courteous... ;just in case if something happened to hanh, he would have helped out

  • hey bro what kind of wrist wraps you use???

  • @Punk4Life408 INZER. Please read the description box. I've listed it all.

  • also remember if you are afraid of hurting yourself use the power rack for benching

  • Hey Hanh videos r awesome man keep it up! :) Just wanted to ask.. aside from eating more n gettin stronger to lift more, what routine did u use to increase ur bench from when u was around 140 - 150 pounds till now! Did u do reps of 3-5 of very heavy, drop the weight, rep out, rest+repeat? Or did u prefer to go heavy up the pryramid like this video.Thanks.

  • @BboyFlashS1 the videos I've uploaded are the most effective workouts that have given me the fastest gains.

  • Dude I only bench 120 8 times.

  • Hi!

Can you make a video on how to do pull ups? I'm a high school senior, and my goal before I graduate is to be able to do the pull ups you and Frank do in your work out videos. (The pull ups that you push yourself above the bar)

    Thanks.

  • Hey do you squeeze your shoulders together when you bench ?

  • i dont' know if this is just me, but it looks like you hold the bar crooked when you bench.. it might be the angle of the camera. or you just bench wierd with your bar at an angle. just pointing it out ^^

  • @skiccors yea i noticed that too the first time i watched it but after watching this video again, i noticed it's just the angle of the camera.

  • Can't wait for video on diet =)

  • @1:50 is that Jason Chen?

  • Lol.

You put Rockman (megaman) music in the background. xD

But thank you for this, im going to use your techniques to grow a bigger chest.

    Awesome videos.

  • i'm not sure if i caught this in your video or not but do wrist wraps help increase your max bench? also do you squeeze your shoulder blades when you bench or no?

  • thx man. this really helped. turns out my grip was too narrow. please do more videos on form!

  • @spnsirTV np!

  • awesome new vids finally! been waiting for it XD!~

  • how much can you bench?

  • someone told me that when you work out =, youre supposed to rest because your muscles are breaking down and building back up. how long do you have to rest

  • @Kimaryu I take about 2 days out of the week to rest. The other days I train.

  • TOO Beastly. 315lbs yikes 0.0

  • yo hanh you are badass man thanks for all your efforts for us to be geting this info man.

    you're from texas right??/ what part ?

  • @JOROZC707 dallas

  • is it true that muscle confusion works?

and if so, what kind of workouts would u recommend on certain days, or do u already do it and these videos ARE muscle confusion workouts?

  • @WawnTawn Yes, I change up my routines every few months. I'll post different workouts that I do. They're all pretty basic stuff.

  • How often do u take a day rest?

  • @DKH086 I rest 2 out of 7 days.

  • Sup Hahn,

Just a quick question. Would eating Chicken Thighs be kinda like cheating? Cos i've been eating both CHicken thighs and Breasts on separate days and to be honest, the Breasts are too dry at times, so im thinking of eating chicken thighs although i know it's more Fattening.

Another question is have you got any tips for making Chicken Breasts nicer? I'm 18 and at University and my cooking skills are real bad lol.

Thanks and keep up the good work :D

  • @ssbmchampion Keep them in a ziplock.. and when you microwave them it will be soft. Also put the setting on low and it wont burn the chicken. It takes longer but the chicken comes out softer. (I'm not much of a cook either but it takes time and you'll figure out what works better!)

  • @HanhChampion it takes a little longer but the best way i've found to cook chicken breast is bake them. Put them in a baking dish and cover the top of the baking dish with aluminium foil and bake at 180C for about 20-25 mins then open the oven, take off the foil and put it back for about another 10 minutes. you'll never eat chicken thighs again. Trust me.

  • So Hanh, have you ever thought about doing martial arts?

  • @kehhvin I did when I was younger.

  • Hey Hanh! Great video again as always! Just wondering, i know this is not about supplements video, but i just want to get your 2 cents into this:

People have always argues which is better ( not sure if you tried either or both) Optimum Whey Protein or Gaspari Nutrition Myofusion. ON Whey is pure whey protein and Myofusion is a blend protein. Are they that different? Which is better?

  • @KarToyz I haven't tried Myofusion. I don't really like how ON taste but their hydrolyzed whey was pretty good. I can tell a difference between regular protein/ hydrolyzed protein is that it has less fat so you stay a bit leaner. Other than that.. protein is protein. I go on taste because if you can't take it consistently then you wont make gains.

  • @HanhChampion I see how that works, without taste it's intimidating to keep taking it. Alright i'll keep that in mind Hanh. Thanks as always! Much appreciated! Looking forward to more videos man.

  • Hey man whats up, isnt that mega man x6 intro playing in the background?

  • @BigTdagreatest HAHA, yes. It makes it sound less boring. I'm still new to this editing/ film thing. This is like the 7th video I've compiled. lol so hopefully I'll get better at it!

  • @HanhChampion I myself would love to learn how to edit videos, so i myself can start putting up workout videos since gym is paying off LOL!!!

  • sorry, super new, but isnt it good to tear your muscles while your workout?

  • @beegeebenyu Hey np. I was referring to a tear (muscle strain/ pull) which implies damage to a muscle or its attached tendons.

  • How often do you do cardio ? and which time ?

  • @greekboydeluxe I don't do cardio.

  • hey hanh do you work your forearms? if you do can you make a video?

  • @aznkidx1 I don't work on forearms but I can make a video whenever I can.

  • that guy was so into you loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool

  • Comment removed

  • @runescapezhao I'm usually tired and I can only make these videos on my rest days. If you train like how I do, you'll know what I'm talking about. If you find my information useful then use it. If not, lifting weights may not be for you. You may have to find another hobby such as basket weaving or horseback riding.

  • @runescapezhao go back to playing runescape LOL working out is not for you
