@kiker0909 one of the most over paid? koivu's importance to minnesota is like eric staal to carolina. with those forwards around him, he still puts up a point per game season. he deserves his millions
@4never93 He wont score over 30 goals and will never hit 85+ points and I dont see players around him putting up better numbers either. He's a good player but grossly over paid. Brad Richards will get Koivu money but the guy can score 35-50 goals are season and put up 90-100 points. I think Mikko is set up for failure now with the contract. My guess is he puts up 20 goals and 40 assists while only playing 60-70 games and gets RAPED by the press. Watch ...
@kiker0909 you cant compare richards and koivu. richards was a one season miracle but koivu can do 80 points every season. and he's the heart of minnesota, he is the captain, his worth is more than just the points. richards scores points but he is not an all around player like koivu. and when they have people like miettinen and brunette as koivus wingers, they wont put up big numbers thats for sure.

I still misses more skilled Finnish players.
Lehtinen really deserved those titles(Selke Trophy, winning 3x!).
Mikko Koivu, some day might to win a Selke who knows.
Right now best defensive forward is Pavel Datsyuk who is an amazing player in my book(great in both ends and hes pretty skilled player too).

And last year Mikko showed us that he is just as good in both ways....of/def...
