No offense but this doesnt make acetic acid, this is just citric acid, you have done literally nothing but make lemonade without the sugar. If you added sugar, you'd actually have a better chance of getting vinegar.
thank you ehow garden for sharing nice info...i have a q..could i put some yeast instead of leave the juice cultured alone?? just curious in experimenting this
Hi I was just wondering what the final product is suppose to taste like? I just finished waiting for mine for the time as stated in this video. However, my vinegar tasted swweet..I'm assuming all vinegars are suppose to be relatively sour just different flavour from the ingredients. Did I accidentally kill the culture for some unknown reason? I did follow all the instructions on here...so I'm really confused.
@mrrawrlicious Vinegar should be sour. That's how you know it's turned to vinegar. You must taste and stop the fermentation when it's tasting as you like. China dynasties a long time ago would designate vinegar makers and then vinegar tasters. So tasting is part of the process. I've never made it myself but, I do love drinking small amounts of vinegar, so that's all I can really offer you.
@Kostly wow then you are very unique sir, because scientists now say that the most repulsive liquid to drink for human beings (in terms of flavor/taste) is vinegar.
@hamedsroor I agree the video had a lot of mistakes that clearly show this was all filmed in one day, no discolored tints in the liquid, 5 days went by with 2 lemon quarters sitting out on the counter, cloths the same, etc. ,etc. but despite the POOR making of this film the info. in it is creditable and good knowledge to have learned, bad film, good info. Info. is more important so I'll vote it up, but I do agree it's not the best made film...
i am more interested in the flowers and oranges that dont spoil for 19 days.....man they dont even lose shape or color <3

@grizzlypride122 No, it wasn't. What she made was much similiar to apple cider vinegar, it is fruit based, instead of grain based like white vinegar.

I would not try this at home, Not enough info on process and no change in the color of lemon in short too fast and not caring for end product.
