It's a style just like jazz or pop... and nobody can say it's old and dated... because any style of music never stops to develope. And nobody knows what this could have done in eurovision. I have a big question mark in my mind about that selection in Cyprus. One is, Cyprus doesn't understand about music (I hope this is the right answer) and the other one is more critical... it's about her origin. Because of she is Turkish Cypriot... I hope the last one is not the right answer of my doubt. Otherwise I am afraid Cyprus still not ready for multicultural identity which is not good to them.

cyprus voted and due to many factors she didn't win but came 5th which is a very good position, alex panayi whom all cypriots love came 6th. it was just people's preference i don't think it had anything to do with the fact she was Turkish Cypiot. The song has a very good Cypriot composer Nikos Evangelou and people liked the song actually, otherwise it wouldn't be in the final. It's just that other songs got more votes, this happens to good songs as well no?

And I haven't heard a singer like her from cyprus before. She has a BIG voice and she is an excellent artist. And the fact that reminds you cabarets is good... like Lisa minelli, or Barbra Streisant... but i doubt you know these singers. Cyprus lost a great chance to do well in eurovision. This song and this singer AND the excellent dancer were the very professionals.

First of all you don't have to know anything about music to know who Lisa and Barbra are. Secondly this girl has indeed a good voice but she has NOTHING to do with them. Lisa did what she did in the 70's, it's time to move on, there was nothing new about the song, it reminded me Marijas Naumova's song that won for Latvia in 2002. well thats another thing.. if all tc were allowed to vote im sure most of them would have voted for the tc singer anyway in these circumstances. what im trying to say is that

1- performance here lost against popularism

2- if majority of voters were turkish cypriots and if there were only 1 gc singer performing, all tc's would vote for the gc singer.

I think we should stop generalizing coz this would be a big mistake.... There sure were some cypriots who didnt vote for her coz of the "history" reasons. However this doesnt mean there were "no" cypriots who voted despite our history... Maybe seeing the full side of the glass will help us better if we want to solve our problems....
