  • Thank you for the lovely demo of watercolor pencils....you make them so cool!

Please, what kind of sketchbook/journal is that? Great size and it looks as if it holds up to water media stuff.

Maybe you've already told about your sketchbook thingy, I haven't yet seen all your videos here.

    Thanking you in advance :o)

  • @ooman56 It's either Stonehenge or Aquabee Deluxe, can't remember which, sorry! Both do a good job, though...

  • I really enjoyed this video, Cathy. Something that probably seems so simple to you was new to me - the spattering technique with the 3/4" brush and the colored pencil. I never thought to do it that way before. I also liked seeing how you incorporated the more exciting colors into the sketch, rather than just sticking with the colors you see in the photo. Thanks for taking the time to make this and all your other videos! You're a wonderful teacher.

  • @EverydayArtistLeslie Thank you, Leslie! Glad you enjoyed it!

  • I love the loose and free style of your llama! Very beautiful!

Does the texture of cold press watercolor paper make it difficult to use the pencils? Do you prefer hot press when working with pencils?

    Thanks for sharing you talent,

    Chris

  • @letspaintnature Hi Chris, and thanks! It really depends on the effect I want. I like HP paper when I want a more subtle effect. The surface of the paper really matters more than the texture. A soft paper without enough sizing makes me crazy, whether it's HP or CP! It won't take the pencil well.

  • Wonderful video, really enjoyed it.
