  • Correction: King Louis didn't build this chateau. Renaissance era King Francois the 1st built Fontainebleau, the other Louises the 14th, 15th and 16th, made additions to what was already there. Napoleon I made it his official palace as did Napoleon the 3rd. :) I guess I really love this place!!!
